A film is real people acting, which helps to emote you, a book makes you use your own imagination, which is just as effective. A game...Is somewhere in between and fails to emote.
I'm sorry, but I just don't get emotional over CGI or animated game characters...

Actors are real people now? Even if you think they are they're pretending to be something that they're not, which is pretty much the same thing as a game characters voice actor, no?

I probably should've felt some remorse in Mass Effect (I don't know how to do spoilier tags so I'll just be vague) but the bits where you have to "let people go" I chose the characters I didn't like so I wasn't really that bothered. Had I had to get rid of someone I did like I would've been a bit miffed though. Also there are quite a few places in CoD4 that are a bit upsetting such as the ending. Also in TF2 when your heavy dies, that gets me every time :'(

I'm not even going to bother reading the previous posts. I'm all for respecting others opinions, but if I see Aeris's death was so sad one more time I'll eat my neighbors children.

Moving on, I'll say Terranigma hands down.

Aeris's death really wasn't that sad. Nobody (i don't care who you are) used her as a main party member. She was annoying as hell and the only good she did was serve as a plot device, which is really all she was meant to be.
And we all know that Cloud Strife should have wound up with Tifa. Anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves.

I found Boss's death a bit more depressing than Big Boss. You know... provided that YOU have to shoot her?D: That part alone makes me not want to finish MGS3, again.

I laughed when Sephiroth just pops down and Aeris suddenly has cold steel through her intestine. Ah, magical moment. So glad I'm playing through it again.
