Tears in Heaven, Brothers in Arms, We were Soldiers, Mad World, Wake me up when September ends and Cats in the Cradle.
Thats a great song it gets me all the time.sokka14 said:as much as i hate to say it, hallelujah.
yes mock me, it is deserved.
4th.That song is so beautiful and sad. Great though.cainx10a said:third. I've heard a lot of songs/music/tune that filled my soul with such emotions, but none were able to do it as perfectly as "Mad World". Almost felt like watching my hamsters jumping off my balcony in an Indian queue.super_smash_jesus said:secondSODAssault said:"Mad World" by Gary Jules.
A passionate spirit, uncompromised
Boundless and open, a light in your eyes
Then immobilised.
Broken
Fell at the hands of those movements that I wouldn't see.
Yet it was you who prayed for me.
So what have I done to be a son to an angel?
What have I done to be worthy?
I only pray Heaven knows when to lift you out.
Ten thousand days in the fire is long enough;
You're going home.
You're the only one who can hold your head up high,
Shake your fists at the gates saying: "I've come home now!
Fetch me the spirit, the son, and the father.
Tell them their pillar of faith has ascended.
It's time now! My time now! Give me my wings!"
Set as I am in my ways and my arrogance,
(With the) burden of proof tossed upon the believers,
You were my witness, my eyes, my evidence,
Judith Marie, unconditional one.
yeah, that one is pretty depressing.SODAssault said:"Mad World" by Gary Jules.
What's sadder is it has now been permanently marred by being an X-Factor winner's single (Think american idol) and, as Charlie Brooker put it, is now only going to be remember as the one "ruined forever as a song destined to be played at thick people's funerals".waggmd said:Thats a great song it gets me all the time.sokka14 said:as much as i hate to say it, hallelujah.

Personally I like the NIN verison, it has hell of a lot more emotion in it. Johnny Cash's verison, is more familiar to people though with its solely acoustic guitar.SenseOfTumour said:What's sadder is it has now been permanently marred by being an X-Factor winner's single (Think american idol) and, as Charlie Brooker put it, is now only going to be remember as the one "ruined forever as a song destined to be played at thick people's funerals".waggmd said:Thats a great song it gets me all the time.sokka14 said:as much as i hate to say it, hallelujah.

Damn I hate Simon Cowell more with every passing day. I am just fortunate I don't like much popular stuff so he can't spray his own brand of tepid sewage over things I care about. What happened to Hallelujah was sadder than the actual song tho.
NIN's 'Hurt' and Radiohead's 'Creep' are pretty obvious choices, but the first two that came to mind. On 'Hurt', I think Johnny Cash's version is excellent and heartfelt, but it kinda bugs me how much people slammed the NIN version when Cash released his, I don't feel it's 'better' just a different style, I enjoy both.
