I remember in Bioshock when I picked something up off the table and turned around and some fucking thing jumped out at me.

Other then that, the Protozoid Slimer in Duke Nukem 3D. It isn't scary in a sense, its just so fucking ugly that its mega disturbing when it wiggles up onto your face.

Your Sanity bar, if you know what I'm talking about you know what I mean.
Ohoho, I see what you did there.

As for me, I am terrified of the Iron Maidens from Resident Evil IV...they make creepy noises, shamble along, are hard a f@*k! to kill, and they try and kill you...by hugging you.

Death by hugs.

(I'm just glad they don't do kissess too)

Not so much scary, but half the inhabitants of Rapture disturbed the shit out of me...

Also, the first time I played Star Wars Bounty Hunter, when I was 9 or so...the Bando Gora literally made me piss myself, I couldn't even finish the game...jumping out of shadows like that...

Damn, ninja'd. But yeah, I remember shooting one and then running away because I'd run out of ammo. After I run to what I assume is safety, I turn around only to find one of those fuckers RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Resident Evil IV was great, but that moment stands out more than any other.

The Revenants from Doom. When I was little they used to scare the piss out of me. Especially if I had snuck on my dad's comp late at night to play the game lol.

And of course anything from Silent Hill. Pyramid Head gets top honors there. /shudder.

Dude, i got that game when i was a little kid because the creatures on the box looked cool, little did i know that it was a puzzle platformer where you had to run away from those guys.

Most intense moment was right when you escape from the farm and have to jump into those pits with em... always crashed into the wall and died...

ot: the eel from Super Mario 64, scared the shit out've me when i was in 2nd grade.(same year i got abes odyssey i think)
Redeads, that dead hand guy, and the ceiling master from Zelda Oot, all freaky when you're a kid.

Otherwise the RE1 dogs were pretty harsh.
Yeah, and I don't know what pisses me off more...that they dont seem to want to finish the Oddworld series, or that they dont seem to want to finish the Legacy of Kain series.

Last time I heard, Oddworld Inhabitants ceased to create games. So no finishing of Oddworld in the near future. Legacy of Kain however...man screw Lara Croft and give us more of this.

One of two things:

Also? Mewtwo. Well, no. Not so much "Mewtwo", in the proper sense, as that...thing that people keep drawing fanart of. Allow me to irrelevently rant for a moment, fellow Escapists, as there's a point. Why, in the name of every deity in every religion both real and fictional in all dimensions, do people want to make Mewtwo out as the illegitmate lovechild of Satan and Gollum who wants nothing but to corner you in a dimly lit area, look deeply into your eyes, whisper something apocalytically scary, then throw back his head and laugh as you die of fright-induced heart attack/choking on your own screams? He's got a sympathetic backstory in both the manga and anime, and by his second appearance in the latter, he's almost gotten frigging heroic, not to mention not looking very intimidating. So why, people,do I constantly browse through Pokémon fansites and come upon A JESUS CHRISTING HORRIFYING GRINNING SKELETON THING THAT WOULD MAKE SATAN SHIT BRICKS?!?!?!

In all seriousness, if anybody knows how this phenomenon came about, I'd really like an explanation.
Well, good sir, I'm glad to see you share my horror.

For me it's just basic zombies that are the most scary. Also the first two stalkers in Clock Tower 3(ps2)are about close as I have ever gotten to a Halloween/Friday The 13th game.

When I was younger, the Skull Kid from Majora's Mask scared the absolute bajeezus out of me. I'm not sure why, looking back on it. Especially when there was a giant moon and an evil mask to be frightened of more.

Oh god, Ultros. 'Uncle Ulty'.

Kefka's actually the one who scares me the most from FFVI.

And anything from Fatal Frame is scary as hell.

I just can't find a reason to find the Giygas fight scary. The still picture is creepy, but during the fight he just moves so much that he looks like cheap back-ground effects. I tried to find out what was scary about him. I tried to feel even the slightest bit of un-ease, but I couldn't, and I still find the eel from Super Mario 64 creepy.
