I sat down to finally see what's the fuss about Portal and finished it by accident in under 2-3 hrs. So far that's the shortest "big game" ever.

I didn't try the bonus advanced stages... but I couldn't care to; same levels but... "advanced"... boring. Would've enjoyed puzzles involving quick motion through the portals more, but it wasn't bad either; it was refreshing for sure.

At first thought I would have given it to Modern Warfare 2, but I ended up giving it to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 due to the INCREDIBLE short campaign. It only took me 4-5 hours to complete, but so did Modern Warfare, but MW2 had multiplayer to fall back on while SW:TFU2 only had eight boring trials to fall back on.

Enter the Matrix. 4 Hours. Sure there are 2 characters but the differences in their campaigns are so minor as to make no difference really.

Also Portal, that's only 2 hours.
Not really, there are a few missions which are totally different.

OT:Bulletstorm. To me it was short, but it was stil great and a decent length. I guess all the games that I enjoy were too short, simply because I want more.

I was just curious about what the shortest games people have played. Was it underwhelming or was it actually a good length? Did you replay it, how long was it etc.?

My shortest are probably Mirrors Edge, Megaman X8, Killzone 2. They come to mind at the moment, but I'll think of more later. They all disappointed me and left me feeling like I wasted my time.
Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 edition.

We were getting at a lake and we were jump by Green hags (they weren't attacking... yet). They seem to be piss off whenever we got closer to the lake so the only girl in the party decide to attack... and get paralyze an drag under. Now, in RL, she was the girlfriend of the D.M. so last time she died she just turn supernova and burn everything except allies. I wasn't gonna let that happen again, partly because it would burn the place down and partly because i wanted to kill the ***** myself (to be fair, she did burn down my home.) I went after her and manage to grab her while she wasn't unreachable. The green Hags decided to attack me instead. I fought back but I crit fail, lost my pant and all my equipment. On the beach, I manage to do CPR but got stab as soon as she wake up for been but naked. I died by being a wrongfully accused of being a Rapist during my first D&D Game. I never play with them again.

Sooooo many questions can be answered with one word.

Portal.

People say they can do the campaign in around 30 minutes - and while I personally can't complete it quite that quickly, I'll agree that it's a very short single player campaign.

But that's okay - it was only thrown in as an afterthought with the Orange Box, after all.

SW Republic Commando for me. Rented it and then beaten it five hours later.

Such a shame because its such an enjoyable game.

My first time I blazed through VVVVVV 100% in a couple hours tops, now I can get it done 100% within about 40 minutes, it's got amazing replay value though.

Prince of persia sands of time is only 3-4 hours after you've played it a few times.
That's quicker than I've ever finished it and that is one of the games I've replayed the most. I still clock in about 5-6 hours and I really don't struggle a whole lot on anything (except I never remember to write down the solution to the curtain puzzle and have to trial-and-error it again).

Another quick one (although it feels like cheating) is Left 4 Dead 1 & 2. Each campaign can be beaten in under an hour (especially if only playing on normal).
