"The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" final hours.

The true definition of epicness at the end of the Hero's Journey.

The ending to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl... it was fast and exhilarating that dipped into the creepy super natural elements and frighting atmosphere at the very end to finish off what is one of my most favorite games ever... even if I did die close to 20 times on the ending alone...<.<
I got the bad "greed" ending :(

I'm replaying with mods though, and I'll know not to head to the
Wish Granter
this time.

Anyways, I think the final scene of Metro: 2033 is really good. Seeing the missiles come down really gives you a sense of accomplishment.

gah. finding a single best moment of any game ever is really kinda impossible, seeing as the medium of games makes it so you make your own moments of awesome, and that can be pretty much anything in any game. I mean, I have played a lot of games. seriously, like too many. It was an awsome feeling managing to solo all the baldurs gate series with the same character, or again solo-ing ff tactics, or going up against a castle with hundreds of defenders by myself in mount and blade, or reaching Hr 8 in Monster Hunter at long last, same for playing through Jagged allience as a single sniper . . .

I guess I have something for soloing huh? bah, I'm trying to wrack my brains here and probably the most awsome single moment was in . . . dammit. can't think of any one. I mean, it was awesome for me when I finally got my fortress up and running in Dwarf Fortress, or when I finished my island castle/town in minecraft. or when I finally beat my brother using superior tactics in AoE2 or when . . . .

I reckon I really have played too many games. . . there is no single moment of any game ever. you make your own, and if you're playing a game you like, it's all awesome.

though, that part in monkey island 3 with the the rhyming duels was pretty f**king awsome
and defeating four blangongas in a row was pretty sweet . . . gotta stop now.

Say what you want about Force Unleashed II, but it contains, without a doubt, the best, most satisfying moment in all of gaming ever.

And here it is, in glorious endless repeat.

I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Making it to Ballos in the 'secret ending' of Cave Story and the ball-flatteningly intense battle that then ensues. The story and gameplay compliment each other perfectly and the whole shebang builds to a nail-biting climax at the end of the literal 'level of hell'.

Normally the lack of save points would feel like unnecessary padding but once you know what you're doing you can blaze a path to Ballos in a couple of minutes and the ludicrous difficulty of the preceding section feels like some much-needed cleansing fire to purify you before the final big fight.

Maybe it's a Catholic thing.

Homeworld. I can't figure out which is better - the "Kharak is burning" moment, or emerging from hyperspace into the Garden of Kadesh/Sea of Lost Souls/Karos Graveyard and just looking around in awe.

And then there's the conversation with Sovereign in Mass Effect...

I'll just leave this here.

Gamecube Spiderman 2 ? Man, if so, I gotta finish that.

For me, it was seeing the awesomeness truly for the first time of gen 6. FFX, Auron looks out onto the horrizon and sees a giant title wave approaching the city.

What I loved started at about 45 seconds in. Amazing for the time.

First time I saw a regenerator in RE4. I turned that one damned corner, (You're nodding your head in understanding already, I can feel it) screamed for the 20 seconds it takes to empty the tmp, shot off one of it's leg and watched with numb fascination as it dry humped me to death.
Games just don't do this anymore. And that is sad.
It was worse after you left that room and were welcomed to the sound of many creepy breathing sounds >.>

anyways, I'm gonna go with the start of the last game I completed:

Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

No says the man in Washington, it belongs to the poor!
No says the man in the Vatican, it belongs to God!
No says the man in Moscow, it belongs to everyone!

I rejected those answers. Instead I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose Rapture!
(at this point I was like, WOAH!)
A city where the artist would not fear the censor, where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality, where the great would not be constrained by the small.

After that I knew I was going to love that game!
Haha. I meant the hallway. :D
Bioshock's world wrapped in layers of intrigue and wonder with a chewy center is peerless. (We're just going to pretend that the final quarter of the game never happened)

When I was saying goodbye to everyone in Dragon Age Origins and when Morrigan says goodbye she says "I don't deserve your friendship, but I will always value it" I broke down in tears because I had spent the entire game earning her trust and she finally called me friend. Alistair's incredible speech, with me by his side. Hell the entire ending to Dragon Age Origins was the single greatest gaming experience for me.

You've just gone to 4 threads ranging from 6 months to 2 years old and just flat out necro'd them.
And I'm wondering... how? How did you find them?

OT: Walking Dead ending. Ho-lee shit.
