The Society of Justice: A Super Hero Roleplay

"Alright, how about you two push that way." Golem said pointing down the hall, " And I'll push this way," he said pointing in the opposite direction "we need to make more space for the others to come down and we need to see where we go next."

With that he flipped the shield sideways and began running down the hall, using the shield as a plow to bowl the guards down and push them back.

Simon waited behind as the others began to move forward, his knifes at the ready

"I'll drop down once you guys make your move, attack them from behind"

He explained with a smile.

Jason nodded at Tommy's request before standing behind Katie's, putting his body up against her's as she faced the shield.

"Alright Katie, Let's give this thing a nice big push!" He said, beginning to budge the giant wall of wood.

Golem's progress had stopped he had ran into a Phalanx of twenty shield bearing guards and was barely manageing to inch them back.

" Simon, I've got a big ol phalanx holding me up, think you could break them up?"

Appearing in the middle of the group, Simon pulled out his knifes and stabbed the two guards closest to him, before teleporting to the back and repeating the tactic again.

"Hurry while they're distracted!"

He shouted, moving around randomly

The break in the line that Simon made was all that Golem needed to break through. With a final push the line crumpled at the weak point and began gaining momentum driving the phalanx back. In seconds it had completely dissolved as the guards entered full flight from Golem, who was swing his shield to scatter them even more.

Richard dropped down and took out a few of the guards firing at Katie's plant shield. He started to spread his attention to taking out guards on both sides to provide enough cover for everyone else to get down the hole.

 

[CounterAttack]

"All right," Katie said after the sound of Richard's firing had passed. She took a deep breath before she expanded her shield to almost completely seal off the hallway. She drew back the branches connecting it to her arm, leaving both hands free. Together with Jason, she began to push the wall of bark, branches and leaves down the hallway, slightly impeded by the guards' shooting.

"They think they can shoot through, Jason," Katie said as they moved forward. "This should be thick enough to withstand most bullets."

"Awesome, that's exactly what we want them to think Katie." He replied as they continued to push towards the guards. As they got closer, they could feel the guards, some where trying to push the wall back, while others were hitting it with the butts of their guns.

"Should we stop here, or should we press 'em against the wall?" Jason suggested.

Golem kept push through the guards they really weren't having any luck in keeping him back. This scenario was almost perfect for Golem:
1. The Corridor was too small for the guards to try and flank him or bring in heavy weapons.
2. The tightness meant the guards would be bunched together, so Golem could take out several in one swipe and they dodge it.
3. Having to only worry about one direction eliminated his primary flaw, agility, here he could just focus on going forward and gain momentum.

However Golem was growing overconfident with every guard he smacked down, he didn't realize that the guards were funneling him away from the others now. He exhaled and closed his eyes and ran through the cloud of smoke what did someone just drop their own grenade?. When he got to an intersection he saw that three barricades had been set-up and crashed through the one on his left that was the weakest. After the turn he kept going down the corridor pushing throw more guards, not realizing that those behind him had already rebuilt the barricade.

Not going to be here for the rest of the day. Going to my going-away party.

Garrus jumped down after everyone else had, sending waves at some of the guards that were posing an immediate threat. He sent some more waves at the ground, causing the guards to lose their footing and making them easier for attacks.

"Most of the guards are down guys, let's finish the rest of 'em," he said over the gunfire and yelling.

Richard watched Tommy barrel down the hallway and become trapped.

"Golem, you're getting away from the group, turn back." He said into the comm as he got behind the large phalanx and opened fire on them from behind.

"Golem, you're getting-

Suddenly a shot hit the side of Golem's head, smashing the comm to bits. Golem stopped and looked back seeing his mistake. Shit, and what was Richard going to say? He kept looking, seeing that the guards had him surrounded and were begginning to close in. Shit, shit what now..

Richard heard nothing but static and knew something had happened but not what. He quickly finished off the phalanx and continued down the path Tommy had gone down.

"Something happened and Tommy isn't answering his comm. I'm going to go check it out, you all figure out where the hell we need to be going, because as soon as I come back I'm going to want to get to this Mordtoten. We've wasted enough much time as it is." Richard said into his comm agitatedly.

 

[CounterAttack]

"I've got an idea. This should force some of their number out of the picture," Katie said as she gave the plant wall a fairly wide curve and caused roots to sprout from its sides. With Jason's help, the two supers forced the guards who were attacking the wall back into a corner, then even further until the wall's edges were touching the hallway's walls.

With a thought from Katie, the roots punched through the walls and quickly toughened up, stopping the trapped guards from pushing their way out. Now unburdened by the wall, Katie immediately started fighting the remaining guards to clear a path forward.

"Alright, that should be good enough. Those guards aren't going anywhere. Good job babe." Jason said with a tone of accomplishment. He stood back from the giant plant wall, knowing that the guards on the opposite side were completely immobilized, unable to reach for their guns or even to push themselves off the wall.

"I think something happened to Golem. Let's go add our two cents to that conversation, eh?" He said into his comm.

 

[CounterAttack]

"Well, don't just stand there, sweetie, help me!" Katie called out as she dropped two guards before they could attack from either side. She lashed out with a foot and kicked another one in the gut, stepped over him and caught a glimpse of a stairwell leading down between two guards' heads.

"I think this is the way down, guys," she said into her comm as she continued fighting.

"Good, protect it and me and Tommy will be right there." Richard said as he came upon the area where Tommy was surrounded by guards. They all had their back to him, and he opened fire to correct this mistake.

Jason looked away from the wall to see Katie at the opposite end of the hallway, standing at a staircase.

"Oops, sorry about that Kate." He said before dashing towards her, launching himself into the air, dropkicking a guard with enough force to bowl him into a crowd of his cronies. As he caught up to Katie, he skidded to a halt in front of her, hearing Richard's order through the comm.

"Alright Rich, you can count on us." He said as he punched a guard that got too close.
