Jason took a quick glance at the plant life that quickly began to sprout and spread on Katie before taking off, joining Alister in the fray. He quickly approached him, taking out a nearby merc before putting his back to Alister's.

"Hey, I wasn't around for the complete briefing! What do we do after these mooks are taken care of?!" He yelled before ferociously slicing a merc's face with his claws.

"Honestly?" Alister replied. "I have no idea. Let's focus on the here and now. Also duck." As Jason crouched Alister made a wild swing to his front, beheading the only merc stupid enough to get near him. He then turned and made another sweeping cut, slicing through the stomach of a merc that had approached Jason. He turned back to his own foes, making a twisting motion to avoid being knifed. He beat the attacker down with the pommel of his sword before resuming the conversation.

"That's just over half of them now. I wonder if these ones will run?"

Katie flinched at Alister's decapitation of the merc. Even though it was a choice between the lives of the team or those of the mercenaries, she still didn't like the idea of killing someone, as proven by the unconscious guard wrapped in bark. She threw away the gun in her hands and shuddered underneath her armour. It would have been more use as an intimidation tool to her than a weapon.

The last two mercs fled in terror, pausing briefly to grab a rifle each from the armoury. Clearly they weren't stupid enough to stick around and get killed. Purposefully ignoring the bodies on the floor - a couple of which were groaning softly, the third leaking a bucket or so of blood from his neck - Katie rejoined the others, a few steps down the hall to get away from the smell of blood. "We'd best keep moving," she said quietly as she continued walking. The sight of the battle was probably enough to give her a nightmare the next time she slept.

Alister continued muttering to himself as he followed the others down the hallway. After he finished, he began to think. I always dread this part. When I think I think something stupid. Something I shouldn't think. Like that time in second grade when--NO! Bad! Stop doing that, it's weird. You know, it's nice to think a bit more freely though. That mind-reading business can really get on a man's nerves.

His eyes turned to Katie, for a moment. Poor girl, caught up in all this violence. I wonder if she was actually going to shoot that man. Better not to force that choice on her. Like you always say, you only kill when you need to, right? Shut up, me. The argument between Alister and Alister continued in his mind as he picked up the pace to keep up with the other two.

Jason brung up the rear, cautiously scanning his surroundings. He began to patch into his communicator.

"Garrus? The armory has been cleared out. Where do we go next?" He asked.

"Why do you think we're here?" Erebus spoke out.

"By the look of all these guns, these must be the people that gotten their hands on Rich's armor blueprints. That's all that's coming to mind now." He answered back before sighing heavily.

"Hey, are you guys okay?" He asked, lowly and tired.

Alister tentatively clutched his side, coming away after a moment with a fresh coat of blood on his glove. "Well, I'm mostly OK." Alister said. "It looks like I've got a bullet in my side, but it doesn't hurt unless somebody punches me or something. How about you, Katie?"

I probably won't be able to get a full-length post out in the little time I have before I go to work today. Just a heads-up. I'll post when I get back.

"I like how everyone has just been ignoring all my updates!" Garrus groaned as he opened up a door to hide in as he chatted, "I told you guys that you need to head to the elevator at the end of your hallway. You need to get to the manufacturing area which is where I'm at."

Golem fought past the guards and headed downstairs, fighting off more as he ran down the halls trying to find Dona.

Dona I can't tell where you are, show me. He mentally asked as he jumped down a flight of stairs. Then kicked opend a door, sending it flying down the hall and into an unsuspecting guard.

"I could be worse, given the circumstances," Katie answered. She unraveled the plants covering her face and flashed Jason a quick smile to try and cheer him up - he seemed a little depressed - before looking closer at Alister's side. "You'll probably need to get that seen to once we're out of here," she said after listening to Garrus' message. "Right now, we'd best join up with Garrus, or at least find the manufacturing rooms." She gestured to the elevator down the hall, and began moving towards it. Using a simple command to fuse together the wood of a door and that of the doorway surrounding it, she sealed off a few doors as she progressed, to prevent any surprise attacks.

Garrus continued along his path, not waiting for anyone else. Thankfully most of the mercenaries were in the lower armory or getting briefed on who was invading the base, allowing Garrus some time to slip by and look at what they were producing.

He stared as he picked up one of the mass-produced helmets from a conveyor belt, taking a look inside of it. It looked almost the same as Richard's though without a paint job yet. 'Probably in post-production,' Garrus thought to himself, dropping the helmet when he heard the sounds of footsteps coming towards him. He ducked behind the conveyor belt as a large group ran by. Once they passed he said into his communicator, "Guys you are getting a lot of well-armed guys coming your way. Be alert."

I find they help me quite a bit, if I check it against where I am confused it helps clear it up much more easily.

"Alright Garrus, thanks for the heads up. Tommy, get Dona and rejoin the others since they probably need you more than I will anyway." Richard already had many bullet holes and shrapnel in his suit, and he knew that even it could only take so much for so long before it weakened to the point he would start feeling it. He only hoped it would hold long enough for him to be able to beat the guys that would be coming his way.

Jason's armor unraveled around his face. He gave a wary, tired, yet encouraged smile to Katie as she smiled at him. Eventually, the three reached the elevator, Jason quietly taking out a unsupecting guard along the way. Armor recovered his face as he pressed the button prompting for the elevator's arrival. Lazily he turns, leaning against the elevator's door. He takes a long glance at both his colleagues before patching in through his comm.

"Garrus, we've arrived at the elevator. We'll be upon your location shortly." He said sharply yet drone-like.

Katie unobtrusively studied Jason for a few moments as they waited for the elevator. Confirming her suspicions that he seemed down, she moved to stand closer to him and quietly asked, "Are you alright? Or just tired out? Either way, you look like something's bothering you." Maybe talking would cheer Jason up, she theorised. It couldn't hurt to talk about whatever it was.

Jason looked down to Katie, smiling softly as he did so.

"It's noting Kate, i'm just a little tired; body feels a bit stressed." He said, lifting himself off of the door with another sigh.

"That, and i'm a bit worried about the events to come. I mean, we are on the verge of a full blown war against heavily armored foes. I'm positive that we'll survive through all this...but finding out that not one but two ruthless groups want you and your friends dead, it's just alot for a 17 year old to take. Makes me wonder how Rich is deaing with all this, since their after his creations and all..." Jason's voice trailed as he inched ever so close to Katie.

"And God forbid, if we were to get anymore bad news today, I don't think my heart would take it!" He said with a slight chuckle, though deep inside he knew he was true. His heart-or his mind, for that matter-wouldn't be prepared for another fit of anger. And nobody would be prepared for what would come afterwards.

Alister listened to Katie and Jason talk. Look at them. He thought. They're just kids. How did they get caught up in this mess anyway? He pondered this as he waited for the elevator to get moving. When it got down to it, Alister really had no idea what was going on. He went where he was told, and he beat up the bad guys, but he had no emotional attachment. He had nothing to stake in this game. Nothing to stake. He came back to that over and over again, trying to figure out what he meant by it. After a long silence a thought rang out. I don't have anyone. No parents, no siblings, no children. Nobody to fight for. All I have is a petty desire for revenge against the man who killed my father. And what kind of desire is that? I haven't even tried to track the man all these years. He could be dead by now. It all could be for nothing. Before he knew what had really happened, he was lost in a torrent of confusing thoughts that left him paralyzed, leaning against the wall as he tried to sort them all out.

"Glad to hear it Jason, but be careful. Most of the force went from my elevator but there still should be a number coming at you from the front," Garrus said, sneaking towards where the smaller force had went. "I can attack them from behind, but they might get to you first. Just be warned."

Richard had almost cleared the room, if there were any others, he would soon be heading down before they got up. He got on the comm to report.

"It seems like I'm almost through all of these guys, my armor is pretty damaged though. I think it will need some pretty serious maintenance when we get back, should be fine for the rest of the mission however. Tommy, are you and Dona getting down there yet?"

I'm in one of those apathetic and lazy mood, that students get in during summer breaks, and I'm leaving soon. For the sake of moving the story along I'm just going to have to make a very lazy bad post. Sorry, hopefully I won't make a habit of doing this.

Tommy finished knocking out the last guard that was chasing Dona.

"Ya Richard, I'm on my way." He replied before turning to Dona.

Dona we need to regroup with the others, let's get going.
