"And I don't take kindly to someone stealing something of mine and twisting it for world domination, but you don't seem to care about that now do you? Now that we've established that neither of us gives a shit what the other takes kindly, let me say this. You are not only an idiot but a full blown moron seeing as you think this Sykes will actually keep you around after he has what he wants. In fact, I think I will be doing a massive favor to the gene pool when I kill you. Hell, if it wasn't for the fact your men got a lucky shot with a rocket because I was being held back, I'd have killed you already." Richard shouted back.

Garrus simply nodded at Tommy, taking a few deep breaths as he thought of a few ideas to get out of this mess.

"Oh bah. I swear every hero always tries to dissuade the right-hand man by claiming that the leader will dump them. Get sick of it after awhile," Gerard replied, rolling his eyes before continuing, "Anyways that's not important. The important thing is that I need to head over to the rendezvous point, Sykes will by now be finished with the takeover of the Union and I have to finish the preparations for the next step."

"Woah what!? The Union's been taken over by him?!" Garrus yelled out in disbelief, getting a few more guns pointed at him as he took a step forward, "Wh-what about-?"
"What about your mother? Your brother, or any of the others in the Union? Well I can only assume they're being tortured beyond what a normal human can take, but I'm sure they can live through it. They are more than just average humans," Gerard said as he checked his watch.

"I'm not trying to dissuade you, I'm saying it's proof of your stupidity. The saying 'no honor among thieves' comes to mind. That and world conquerors are a notoriously paranoid and egotistical bunch, they tend to kill whoever poses a threat. Seeing as you are his second-in-command, you pose the largest threat to him post-takeover. Again, not trying to dissuade you, that would actually be counter-intuitive considering I really want to kill you. Now even more so considering the new information you gave me, but the point is you're an idiot for trusting this Sykes character. A stupidity for which you will pay dearly and with your life, either by his hand or my own." Richard replied.

Gerard boredly waited while Richard talked, checking his watch every few seconds. Once Richard was done he responded, "Well we'll just see how it goes then, though I'm certain it'll be my way. Anyways I must be off now. I'll have my men kill you when I leave." He then walked down the walk way, exiting the manufacturing wing and leaving the group behind.

"Guy," Garrus managed to whisper, "I have a plan. Not sure if it will work, and it might be a little painful."

"Whatever it is, I think it will be a lot less painful than dying." Golem replied. He began watching the mercenaries line up shots, any moment their captains will give the order to shoot, that is if one doesn't crack under the pressure and begin firing. The tension in the room was rising, We only get one shot at this.

Garrus was silent, trying to get ready for his attack. The mercenary in command raised up his hand to give the order, and that's when Garrus sent out two shock waves. The sheer magnitude of the sent into the ground immediately leveled the whole building, catching every one of the mercs off guard. They managed to get a few shots off before getting trapped underneath the the collapsing floors.

The shock wave sent upwards caused the solid layers above to be grounded into a fine sand, all of it falling on the team. Garrus climbed out of the sand, coughing and brushing it out of his eyes. He managed to help everyone out from under the sand, being careful to not put too much strain on the bullet wound that he had.

"Okay guys. Plan worked for the most part," he managed to say, shaking his head to get rid of the sand in his hair, "Was expecting to get shot a bit more; one bullet isn't that bad."

Golem had remained standing, catching a large section of the ceiling that hadn't broken apart, it then blocked more rubble from falling on everyone else. After Garrus had gotten up, Golem threw the section away.

"That was some show, but now what? Should we go after Gerard, I think he was planning for us to be dead right now, seems like a perfect time to give chase when he hasn't prepared for it."

"He might already be gone by now, and will certainly be getting the hell away from here after that. No, I think we need to tell Patriot about this. We need to start getting a force together," Garrus replied, sitting on top of a large section of concrete. He was clearly very worried about how quickly thing shad happened. Wasn't his brother just with Tommy earlier that day? And how the hell could his mother have been defeated? Questions raced around his head as he sat there, his head in his hands.

Golem began to dig out the others, helping Alister out first, then Katie, then Jason, and finally Richard. There's one missing, where's Dona? He dug around so more, frantically trying to find her. He grabbed a large piece of rubble and pushed it away, uncovering Dona's bullet riddled body.

" Dona." Golem said as he leaned over and picked her lifeless corpse up.

Is this alright? Avou said she was dropping out, and this seems like the best time for this.

It's fine. Nice, simple way to go...for the most part.

Garrus looked up after hearing Golem, cursing as he put his head into his hands after seeing Dona. He was starting to breathe heavily, his wound bleeding out more.

"Okay. We need to go. Now. We need get ready to fight. We need to let everyone know who the bad guys are. We need to find out how the hell this Sykes guy took over the Union. I need to find out what happened to my family. We must fight Sykes. We might fail, but like hell we're going down without a fight. We're going to take this fight to him," Garrus said to everyone as he started to climb over all the rubble to get back to the road.

Alister took a moment to mourn Dona, but at the same time thought to himself how he hadn't even known her. With that in mind he delved into a mental debate with himself, for lack of a partner, on whether or not humans should mourn others based on a personal level, or simply the fact that a human being has died.

Once Garrus had finished speaking, he hobbled after, muttering to himself. "Heroic moment speech speech yadda yadda." When he reached the top and turned to the group. Underneath his cloak almost his entire left side had been drenched with blood. A woozy smile was on his face. "Now might be a good time to mention; I think I'm dying." His eyes instantly rolled up into the back of his head, and he released Excalibur, hitting the ground face-first.

"Thanks for that," Katie said quietly to Tommy as he helped her out of the rubble. Once everyone else had been dug up, she paid respect to Dona in the form of a minute or so of silence. Though Katie hadn't appreciated her forays into her mind, she had still respected Dona as a member of the team.

Then Alister passed out, and Katie moved to help him in any way she could. "Ah, cripe," she murmured as she took in the extent of his wounds. She picked a leaf from her armour and grew it into a resemblance of a bandage, which she tied tightly over the source of his bleeding. "That should stop him bleeding out," she said to no-one in particular. "But I'm no doc, so we need to get both him and you, Richard -" she looked up at him as she spoke "- to a hospital or something as soon as possible."

She picked Alister up carefully, supporting his weight with the strength in her plant arms.

"No, no hospital. We have a doctor back at the Promenade right? One of Richard's guys? Or is he gone now? I don't even remember. Let's just get the hell back, or a few of the non-injured members can head back while the rest go to the hospital? I don't even know," Garrus said as he started walking back to his parked motorcycle.

"Not even sure if I should even drive this," he muttered as he got onto it.

Richard stood silent for a moment before starting to head back towards the armory.

"I'm going to find Gerard, kill him in the slowest and most painful way possible, find this Sykes character and show him the same courtesy, before I destroy those fucking plans once and for all. I need somebody to give me a ride, the electronics to the suit were pretty much fried by the missile. I could fly, but it would be uncontrolled and probably kill me." he spoke with barely contained fury as he walked with everyone else.

"You can ride with me Rich, if you trust I won't fall unconscious at the wheel and cause more problems for us," Garrus said with a tired laugh.

"And we'll get these guys Rich. We just need to regroup, get a plan together and all that. Shouldn't be that hard," he said.

"Alright then, so long as you don't mind a blood covered jacket." Richard replied before adding.

"And I don't care for planning at this stage. I just want to find these bastards and cause them enough pain to think me Satan himself before they go to hell. I know who my targets are now, I just want to search and destroy now."

Golem took Dona's body back to his car, putting her in the passengers seat, not even caring about the blood that was getting on the seat. He then got into the drivers seat and began driving away.

"I'll meet you all at the Promenade." He said as he stewed in anger. We lost, again, fell right into their trap, this time two of us died, and all we have to show for it is a pile of rubble and the name of their ring leader. He unconsciously tightened his grip on the steering wheel, causing it to bend and conform to the shape of his hands. Dammit, lost control of my strength. He thought as he redoubled his efforts not to kick through the floor of the car as pushed on the gas. Maybe when I see Sykes I will lose control. Part of Golem liked the idea of letting loose and showing everyone how much damage he could really cause.

"I think my jacket is gonna get bloodied anyways with my wound," Garrus replied, listening to Richard as they drove back to the Promenade.

The trip was a quiet one as Garrus drove along the highways, the normally short trip taking what seemed like hours. He had taken a break for a few minutes about halfway back before continuing until they drove up to the Promenade.

"Holy shit, that was actually really good timing," Garrus managed to say with a few coughs as he parked his motorcycle and started to walk inside, "Medical attention, and call Patriot. Two most important things."

Richard got on his comm as he walked in as calmly as possible. Asking his secretary to send for both the parts he would need to fix his suit as well as multiple surgical teams. He explained the gravity of the situation and she replied that everything was on its way in under a minute.

"Alright we have medical teams on a rush and my suit will be getting major repairs tonight, I don't want to hear complaining about the sound. I have a lot of welds of different types and sizes as well as rewiring, so it's once again going to be a long night after surgery." Richard said, still barely containing his fury.
