The Society of Justice: A Super Hero Roleplay

Richard kept up with Requiem as he drove through the gate. He spoke to the others as he continued.

"I think we can be sure that the Union members won't be wearing the uniforms of Sykes men and carry guns on them. The easiest way to tell is by that and by who is being shot at, the Union members should be surrounded, and if they aren't attacking someone in the center then we know they are Union." Richard spoke seriously to the group, this was the best advice he could give so as to avoid what could best be described as 'friendly fire'.

Alister rushed through the open gate, stumbling to a stop as he sought out a target. He moved up against a wall to avoid sight and peeked around a corner, only to see a pair of Sykes' men looking for and entrance. He slammed one with the side of his blade, knocking him out cold, before ducking around the corner as the other opened fire.

"Well then!" Alister shouted into the com. "That makes PERFECT sense!" As the second one rounded the corner he was met by a kick to the forehead, knocking him to the ground. Alister leaned over and punched him square in the nose, removing him from the fight. "Couldn't you just give us some colors, Richard? This is all getting a bit more complex than it should be."

"Guys I'm seriously doubting there are any Union members actually outside," Garrus said as he sent a shock wave to take out a group that was firing on Richard. He ran inside the large building, taking out a number of guards that were inside.

"Oh fuck, now I've lost track of Requiem. And he fucking just left my bike on the floor!" Garrus yelled in anger, pointing to his bike and attacking a few guards that were close to it. He heard loud noises coming from further inside the building, and the radio chatter from a walkie-talkie picked up implied that half the forces were to stop the outbreak, and the other half were to keep guard of those imprisoned.

"Sounds like interesting stuff."

Richard started fighting guards as they fired upon him.

"I don't know Alister, did the Union suddenly get a uniform? Unless they did, it's the best I can offer you. Hit the people shooting people that are completely surrounded." Richard said before speaking to Garrus.

"Garrus, we don't know there isn't a group. It is our best assumption until we learn otherwise, seeing as this many people would most likely be used on a group."

"Okay, okay! Just telling you what I think! I'm going to keep listening to radio chatter, and I hear lots of gunfire further in. I'll wait for you guys before going in further; would rather not go into a giant based filled with enemies and security alone," Garrus told them, looking around the main hall of the building for anything else that could be helpful.


Requiem grabbed one of the fallen guard's MP5, taking some of the ammo and putting it in his pocket before continuing through the building. He was already in the East Wing, and was now in a long hallway. He knew his way around the building and hoped that everyone else would be alright as he went on ahead. He had already met and dealt with a number of Union traitors, showing no mercy for those who had betrayed.

 

[CounterAttack]

Katie hurried into the base after the others, splitting up from the group and running down another hallway. A fairly large number of guards opened fire on her, but the bullets that hit were stopped cold by her thickened wood armour. She hid in a doorway to prevent them stopping her, and hurried to another one closer to the guards, a few more shots hitting her ineffectively as she did so.

Once she had used this procedure to get close enough to the guards - though the kinetic impact of the bullets held her back a little every time she moved across the hallway - Katie lashed out at her assailants with a mass of vines from each hand. Some of them were knocked unconscious, others stunned or otherwise incapacitated.

Advancing more cautiously now, and taking the time to pick up one of the fallen guards' guns for intimidation purposes, Katie spoke into her comm as she pushed on. "Guys, I just came under heavy fire from some of the guards. Don't worry, though. I dealt with them. Does anyone know where the cells are?" She found a staircase which, looking down, seemed to be going deep underground, and began to hurry down it.

Richard continued inside after Requiem once he finished with the guards that were targeting him. He moved through the halls following the trail of bodies, eventually catching up with Requiem.

"What the hell did I just see?" He asked with honest shock in his voice.

"I mean, I just followed a hall of bodies to find you, what are you after that could cause you to do all that?" He asked as he ran up to him.

Alister followed behind Richard, kicking a guard in the head as he began to wake up. "Must be pretty important." He said. "If all these fellas were in your way."

Requiem beeped in response, before recalling that no one could understand. He thought about plugging himself into Richard to tell them before the wall next to them was completely smashed through, around five bodies being thrown threw it into a bloody and broken pile.

Camille took a step out from the other side, taking a few deep breaths as she looked around at everyone. She was visibly tired, and her white tank top and pants were almost completely red from blood. Requiem beeped in happiness and quickly went to hug her, continually beeping as he tried to tell her everything.

"Okay, okay Ethan. I love you too. Calm down now and stop hugging me so tightly, I'm still recovering from everything," she replied back to him tiredly, being let go as she turned to Richard and Alister, "Guess he did manage to get to you guys. Half thought he would just come in here guns a' blazing."

"We just got here, had to repair my armor and it took us a bit to get to a point where we could understand him." Richard replied before looking her over.

"So what in the hell is going on here? I have a guess, but I hope I'm wrong."

"I see. Ethan explained that you stopped at the, now destroyed, factory of Gerard. Seemingly had a fight there, glad to hear you destroyed that place," Camille explained, wiping her hands on her shirt. She had a quick laugh when she heard that they had trouble understanding him, "Hah. Yeah well he's hard to get what he's talking about even when you can understand him." Requiem gave something of an annoyed-sounding beep in response, crossing his arms.

"Oh relax, I'm only joking Ethan. So anyways what is it exactly you want to know Masterson?" she asked him.

"Whether this is Sykes' doing or not. I'm assuming yes but I hope I'm wrong." Richard answered before continuing.

"The destruction of the factory was more your son's doing. I mostly just took a missile to the chest leading to shrapnel being stuck in me until we got back."

 

[tsatoma]

"Oh yes this is all that little fucker's doing. I fucking knew he was no good, I just knew it. And now look at what's happened! The Union got fucked over, so many people have died, and now he plans on taking over the goddamn world! And my son..." Camille trailed off, looking at a dead guard on the floor and kicking him.

"Anyways where is everyone else in your group?" Camille asked.

Richard didn't even hear the question. He immediately turned away and punched through a wall.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, FUCK!" Richard shouted as he kicked a corpse with all his might and sent it through the wall. He pulled his arm out of the wall and looked at Camille.

"He's getting bold, do you know what this means?!" He shouted.

"Oh you know," Alister said. "kicking ass and taking names. The usual hero thing. I don't know who they're gonna find, frankly. Looks like Requiem took out most the people around anyway."

Alister turned to Richard, acting confused to hide his own confusion. What does that even mean? He thought.

"What're you getting so worked up over?"

"Don't you get it, he's getting bold!" Richard shouted.

"Our entire plan relies on us having the time to be ready with defenses. With him getting bold it means the attack will be coming soon. We have barely any time to prepare, to have a plan to defeat him, his army, and the suits. The nations of the world won't be nearly as ready as they could or should be. The fight is going to be a lot harder and many more will die." He explained as he attempted to calm down.

 

[CounterAttack]

When Katie reached somewhere she estimated to be about halfway down the stairwell, she found a door. Perhaps this led to a cellblock. She opened it cautiously, her gun leading the way in a slightly shaking hand. It was heavy, even in both hands. Katie hoped she didn't have to use it. A couple of guards were standing near the door, facing away from it for some reason. Katie quickly extended thick vines and tripped them both, knocking them out.

Once she was sure she hadn't been seen, Katie took a look around the room she was in. It was a circular room with a large gap in the middle, allowing people to look down to the floor below. Or more importantly, the group of captured prisoners on the floor below. A lot of them were unconscious or had taken a beating. Katie recognised Mordtoten cowering behind someone, his face covered in cuts and bruises. About two dozen armed guards covered them from all angles, in case they tried anything.

"I found some of the prisoners, but there's a ton of armed guards holding them hostage," she whispered into the comm. "I'm gonna try and - " She was cut off by a loud, "Hey, you!" and a subsequent burst of fire from someone on the floor below. Katie quickly hid in what little cover she had, desperately trying to think of what to do now that they had spotted her. Doubtless some of them would come up the stairs to try to capture or kill her.

"We won't be ready for it," Camille told them, "He's been planning this for a long time. The best we can do is to get as prepared as possible, and be ready to act at the slightest notice."

"A good thing is that you'll at least have some more man power once I get everyone out of the holding area," Camille said, walking past Alister, Requiem, and Richard and motioning for them to follow. "We'll probably be dealing with a number of guards as we head over there, and more when we get ready to leave," she explained heading towards the main hall.

Garrus sent a shock wave through his punch, knocking out a guard that had come after him. He turned around to see his mother, adopted brother, Richard, and Alister coming towards him.

"Hey everyon- Holy shit mom that's a lot of blood," Garrus replied with raised eyebrows.
"It's not mine," Camille replied with a smirk, "Heard you destroyed Gerard's factory, glad to hear it."
"Yeah well it needed to be destroyed. So this Omoi Sykes guy was a Union member?" he asked her.
"Of course. And I knew he was no good, should have stuck to my gut," she responded.
"Yeah you really should have. Would have saved a ton of lives including a few Society membe-" Garrus started with sudden anger before Camille put grabbed him by the collar and put her hand over his mouth.
"Look son I fucking know that I screwed up by going with the popular opinion of having Omoi join the Union. I fucking learned that okay? Now I've have my throat slit open, disemboweled, and my fucking heart literally ripped out only an hour ago so I'm in a pissed off mood and you're certainly not helping it. So let's not get into all that stuff until later, understood?" she asked him, getting a quick nod before letting him go.

Garrus brushed himself off before hearing Katie from the comm. "I hope you know where the holding cell is," he muttered as Camille and Requiem walked by him heading into the direction of them.

"Of course. Let's go."

Richard was silent as he walked along behind them.

'Be as prepared as we can be. Easy for her to say, she just let the wrong person through the door. I built him a gun, handed it to him, didn't tell anyone until it was too late, and woefully overestimated how much time we have. She has the blood of her people on her hands, I have the blood of every living thing on this planet that he has and will end up killing on mine.' he thought.

Camille led them through the building, knowing exactly where they needed to go. She paused and had everyone hold up as they neared a T-section hallway. Around ten guards ran past them them as they made their way to help out in the holding area. Camille ran up behind them knocking out the one guard in the back with a neck snap, leaving him alive but broken beyond repair as he fell to the ground.

A guard turned around as his head was smashed into the wall, the body immediately falling as she let go and went after the rest. One by one they were taken out brutally, Camille not showing them any mercy. Finally there was one more who had his gun trained on Camille.

"Well, well. Mr. Roland Cain. Funny how we'd meet like this," she said, slowly walking towards him as he took steps back with complete fear on his face.
"I...I never meant to betray you. This was all to get close an-and..." he tried to say.
"Ah. No more. Don't bother. I won't accept betrayal like this Cain," she said to the frightened man.
"D-don't I get a few last words or anything?" he asked, his gun being thrown to the ground after Camille charged towards him in just a blink of the eye.
"You just said them," Camille told him as she grabbed a hold of him. She stayed there for a moment before backing up, handing him his own intestines before he fell to the floor. "You were a good member Cain. Shame it had to end this way."
