Tommy got on his comm link, " The five of you should be enough, I'll stay back and hold down the fort."

The real reason was that he when Richard had told the others to try expand their abilities, he had wanted to see if he could do that with is own. However he didn't want to tell everyone in case he couldn't.

"Tommy, we need every man we can get our hands on. We don't know if the Union members will be glad we are saving them or try to kill us. There is also the fact that we need to get through their defenses, it's why I made a point of riling up Alister." Richard said before seeing the information pop up on screen.

"So you ran 38 MpH, your legs must have been really augmented, because that is far faster than any human for a lot longer."

You are correct. For the most part they are completely robotic. It certainly helped a lot, dunno how I'd have made it if it wasn't that way lol. Requiem responded.

"You actually put in 'lol'? Dear god," Garrus asked shaking his head in disbelief.

"Garrus, this is basically the internet as far as he is concerned. And if you don't like the way he types, then stop looking at the damn readout." Richard said before an evil thought entered his head, he could have a little fun at Garrus' expense.

"Now show your brother a little courtesy, he is family after all." he joked.

Huh I must have misread the last few posts, for some reason I thought we were only going to get Alister's sword.

"Alright," Tommy said as he put his mask back on and got on his motorcycle, maybe I'll come up with something on the field. He thought to himself as he began reving the engine.

"Ah god no more! Screw it people let's go," Garrus said before zooming off, Requiem barely having time to eject. He beeped at Garrus, sounding somewhat angry but Garrus didn't have a clue what he was saying.

'Not like I care either,' he thought smugly.

That is a side trip by katie, maybe. What we are all actually doing is saving the Union from Sykes.

Richard laughed before taking off and flaying above Garrus.

"Fair enough, off to save the rest of your family. Seeing as one of your brothers escaped."

"Enough with the family thing alright? Okay it's true I do fucking care about them! Even all the times I said I hated them and disowned them I still cared! And I knew they were always going to care about me too! And now the fact that I seemingly have an adopted brother just makes feel a bit betrayed since I was never told anything about it! And I know my mother still has a ton of secrets she refuses to tell me...always waiting for the 'right moment' and all that!" Garrus yelled out in frustration as he got on the freeway. Requiem gave him a quick hug before Garrus swatted him off.

"Just hold on, no hugging," he told him.

"Calm down Garrus, was only joking about him. You have to realize every family has secrets, and every generation tries to hide them for the next generation's well being. I'm sure there is a good reason for everything, you just don't know it yet. Sooner or later you will find out, and I sincerely doubt you will like what you find. You'll probably even wish you could forget what you learn." Richard replied in a more serious tone as he flew on.

 

[CounterAttack]

"All right, let's get this started," Katie said quietly as she began to drive after Garrus and Requiem, Alister holding on behind her.

"Did you want to make a detour for your sword, Alister?" she asked. "You'll probably need it where we're going."

Golem was zooming right behind Garrus, " Well if you want to talk family skeletons you should check out my dad. I didn't know he was a Necromancer until I was 9 until then he had convinced me he was a Druid. Do you know how I found out? I found skeletons in his closet while looking for my Christmas presents, that's not a figure of speech. literal, fucking, human skeletons, just chilling next to his business suits."

"You're probably right," Garrus replied to Richard as they continued driving, "But I still want to know. It's always bugged me, and it always strained our relationship...and Tommy, I actually wouldn't be surprised to find something like that in my brother's closest. Right next to the red blazer and white pants."

"And Katie, Alister we won't be driving though Kent for another forty minutes. The freeway will take us right by the factory I believe, so we'll just stop quickly before continuing," he told them through the comm.

"My family also had its skeletons. My father could be quite underhanded when he needed to be. Some of the only things I can mention are some rather unscrupulous business practices. He was put on trial for monopolization more than once in multiple nations. Not to mention corporate spying, sabotage of other companies, actually wiretapped a few competitors illegally. Only reason I'm mentioning these things is because the other companies either can't or won't press charges. Then there was also his personal life, not the most monogamous man in the world. Mother came to accept it after a time, she knew while he may sleep with other women, he only loved her." Richard said.

Jason jerked awake to the sounds of several bikes and cars speeding off. Uttering a long "fuck", he raced outside to see his teammates all riding down the street. He quickly turned on his comm as he began to take off his house clothes.

"Geez, you guys have a bad habit of leaving me!" He said as he (literally) streaked into the garage. Wasting no time, he hopped on his bike, and burned rubber out of the garage and down the street.

"Alright, i'm bringing up the rear. Seriously, couldn't you guys like, woke me up or something?" He asked, weaving through the cars that still occupied the late night streets.

"Not our fault Jason. Perhaps you shouldn't go to sleep when we're on the brink of a war and said we'd start planning as soon as we'd get back," Garrus replied to Jason. He noticed that they were nearing the off ramp to get to the outer area of Kent, and he let everyone know to get off so that they could head to where the factory used to be.

"Only another few minutes guys, then we get right back onto the road."

"Fair enough, finding a sword in a pile of sand shouldn't be that hard. Then we continue on our way." Richard said as he kept flying above them before speaking into the comm to Jason.

"He's right you know, especially after I had just questioned you about your abilities."

 

[CounterAttack]

As Katie made the turnoff after Garrus, she answered Jason, "Sorry, Jase. Maybe I should've said something. I'll remember to wake you up next time, alright?" To contribute to the conversation about the sword, she added, "Fair enough. If needs be you guys can go on ahead without us. Alister and I can keep looking if we have to."

A thought came to her, and she asked, "Is there some sort of connection between you and the sword, Alister? Like, would you be able to determine where it is in the rubble or something?"

Hey guys I'm leaving on a trip tommorrow morning, I'll be gone until Sunday so don't expect any posts from me until then. Hopefully you won't go too far without me.

Garrus continued driving on the outskirts of Kent, the area becoming familiar after a few miles. "Now we're in the factory district. And I think that the factory is right up here," Garrus told them as he made a right onto the drive way for the now destroyed factory that they were at earlier today.

"Okay. Alister get your sword quickly so we can continue on."

"I'll take a holding pattern and keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary." Richard said as he began to circle above the group and scanning with both his eyes and the sensors at his disposal.
