Richard raised an eyebrow, but otherwise showed no reaction and began to eat. He had a bite of his burger before continuing.

"Well first let me say thank you for the compliment, and I return it. Most people would look downright atrocious in that outfit, but you pull it off. Secondly, I already knew this plan wasn't going to work. I'm just here because it's a chance to learn more about you all. You see, if there is one thing I hate, it's not knowing what I'm up against. Before now all I knew was I was up against a magi with at least two hands and a voice box, so I would say I've already learned quite a bit today." Richard had another bite and a drink of soda before continuing.

"Excuse my lack of manners in eating during these talks, but I haven't had anything to eat yet."

Your skill is amazing. Would that I could create such epic artwork. But then, my artistry lies best in film and acting more than anything else.

:3 Thanks.
"It's no problem Mr. Masterson, Richard. You don't have a problem with that do you?" Leland asked before continuing, "Well glad you could learn something from this meeting. Honestly I would have showed off a lot more, except of course I'm supposed to be 'discreet'. That's quite challenging for me. I like showing off. I'm an entertainer! It's what I do."

Tommy got the food, paid, and parked in the parking lot, making sure to get a spot facing the restaurant. He couldn't see Richard, or the others, but he was sure that if something happened he would see it. So he and Jason settled in and began demoloshing their meals, Tommy made sure to be mindful of the heat of the amulet he was wearing.

"I wouldn't call killing 25 of my guards and friends entertaining, but I wasn't the one doing it." Richard said neutrally.

"I don't mind Richard and I must also say I'm glad I could learn something as well." Richard felt a burning sensation in his pocket where he had put the amulet. He pulled it out and placed it on the table.

"One of my teammates gave me this, something about detecting magic. I was expecting you to use it anyway, but if it makes them feel better. So what are you doing with your power if anything at the moment, and why attack my house and steal the plans? Don't play coy either, I know what I passed on to the US government and I know you wouldn't attack my house to simply steal my stuff and steal billions from my company's bank accounts."

"Meh, I find killing to be an enjoyable practice, but that's just me," Leland replied giddily, taking a look at the amulet. He smiled and after a few seconds it started to make the plastic of the table melt around it.

"It was a good idea you took it out. Wouldn't have wanted to burn you, or your classy pants," Leland said, "You have a smart friend. His is probably starting to burn like this one is right about now. As of right now what I've done is simply prep everyone in case I decide to suddenly use magic. As of now everything is normal, but I can now completely control what everyone is seeing. It's quite nice."

"As to why I did what I did, well I got orders and I saw them through. Though I will admit I did keep some of the money for myself, and basically all the stuff I stole was for my own personal gain. It was nice stuff. It looks good in my house," Leland replied with a grin.

Tommy gasped when he felt the heat of the amulet jump, he dropped his milkshake on his lap, and then reached into his shirt and ripped the Eye off, dropping it on the dash-board. It was glowing with heat, and it was starting to make the plastic on the dash-board bubble. Tommy and Jason locked wary stares, That, cannot, be good. Tommy thought to himself as he looked at the Mcdonalds with apprehension.

Although she couldn't look obvious for fear of being spotted, Katie strained to hear some of the conversation between Richard and Broadway, but she couldn't hear them. Either they were too far away or speaking quietly.

"About that, can I at least have most of the historical items back? The rest you can keep, it can all be replaced, but the historically significant items are priceless, require a certain amount of care, and I appreciate the stories held within them. I just don't like knowing they can be broken or destroyed somehow, nothing against you, but I worry even when some of my closest friends and actual historians come over. Thank you for the compliment again, by the way. I would say you liked me, but that would be a presumption on my part." He continued his meal, eating a few fries.

"So, you were under orders. Did you or your friend" He nodded his head toward Requiem. "Happen to look at what it was you were taking specifically?"

Escapist is acting funny. So posts might disappear and stuff.

Leland smiled at Richard, clearly reading him and thinking things over. It was an unnerving stare.

"Well I like everyone Richard, for the most part. I especially like your friends that are all busy eating their burgers and downing their cokes. And yes I can tell that they are here; a few in the restaurant, two in the parking lot, and one a little distance away on a roof. Sleeping, well if he wakes up he'll see everything is all peechy-keen down here," Leland replied, tapping his fingers a few times before continuing.

"How about this? You bring over some of your good-looking friends to come sit with us and I'll give you most of what you want back? We can make up other deals though if you'd rather just continue talking to me," he said with a cute frown.

"And yes, we did know what we were getting. How else would we know what to steal? Now, I don't know who the data was given to, that isn't disclosed to me," he added.

"Believe me, I've had people steal data when they didn't know what it was. Business is cutthroat like that. Just wondered if villainy was about the same or if it was different, so that answers that. I don't see why others can't join us, if only to create the illusion that were are on even terms. Even though you three and myself know that isn't true, they probably will believe otherwise. They're optimists like that, and a little bit overeager. You can round them up if you want, or I'll do it. I don't particularly care so long as they come over alive and unharmed. Not that there was much I could do about it if they weren't anyway." Richard said before going back to eating and came close to finishing his meal.

Leland smiled devilishly as he stood up and excused himself. He first walked over to the parking lot, taking a few moments to locate the exact car Tommy and Jason were in. He knocked on the window of the station wagon, telling them to go and sit at the table with Richard.

He then went into the restaurant itself, going first to Birras and telling him to go. He then walked over to Katie. "Would you please care to follow me?" he asked, levitating her food up to be transported and extending his hand to her.

Katie looked up. So this was Leland... he seemed nothing like she had imagined him to be. Knowing full well what he was capable of, she stood, but refused his hand, instead picking her drink out of the air and taking a pull on the straw, the other hand firmly lodged in her pants pocket.

Leland simply chuckled at what Katie had done, leading her over to the table. He brought out a chair for her and waited for her to sit down before pushing it in.

"Well, I think this is a much nicer way to go about things...don't you all think so?" Leland asked as he sat back down and took a drink.

"Perhaps, I'm inclined to think nothing has really changed, but that's just me. The only difference is we can all speak now. So, back to my artifacts, will I be seeing them again?" Richard replied nonchalantly as he finished eating.

"Excuse me, I'd like to throw my garbage away." Richard said before getting up and throwing his trash away before sitting back down.

"Sorry for that interruption." He apologized.

"Well it was our deal, and I make sure to honor those. So the ones you really want back I'm willing to return. I'm assuming those are the boring things like the documents and so on," Leland replied rolling his eyes about the documents.

Leland looked over at the silent Katie with a raised eyebrow. He leaned closer before asking, "What is your name dear? I mean, I actually already know what it is but I'd much prefer to hear it from you."

Tommy was a little shocked as he watched Leland walk away. He wasn't sure what to make of what just happened, all he could think of was how marvelously polite Leland had been in his invitation. He heard a thunk, the amulet had melted through the dash and had hit the metal below, Ya that probably voids my warranty. Tommy thought with a sigh. He gave Jason a note:
Code:
Go ahead, I'll be there in a bit.
With that Jason got out, and entered the restaurant, leaving Tommy in the car.

"Katie Southe. I must ask you not to call me dear," Katie answered, flicking a lock of hair out of her eyes with a finger. She didn't give a reason why, intent on giving Broadway as little information as possible.

"Please excuse my teammates apprehension and rudeness, although she is every bit entitled to it. I would appreciate seeing those items again, and as I said, the rest is yours. So, what are your thoughts on my design. Any of the three of you can answer, I don't care. I will say I will definitely be disappointed if none of you reply though. Tells me I did a poor job of it." Richard spoke.
