Maybe the drop in cash flow will encourage Spoony to stop moping around and get off (or on) his ass and make some videos in a timely fashion.

If Brad Jones can come out with a snob episode every week and still have time for midnight showings, 80's Dan, writing/staring/directing movies, Ninja The mission Force, and is preparing for an animated series than I think Spoony can come out with 2 episodes a month.
Dude, depression (ACTUAL depression) isn't something you just shrug off and get on with your work after. Have you been paying attention to ANY of the crap that Spoony has been through over the past year and a half? The guy needs some time to recover, not push himself into a wall to satisfy his demanding fans.

Ya know what the sad thing is? I wish this was all a very elaborate storyline. It would be the most interesting thing to happen to Channel Awesome since... ever.

As someone else pointed out, Hope Chapman (JesuOtaku) had literally nothing to say about this WHEN IT HAPPENED
Stop right there, please.

Ms. Chapman had nothing to say about it in public. Unless you are privy to information I am not (and maybe you are; maybe you're her boyfriend under a strange handle for this site's forums), you have no way of knowing she had nothing at all to say about it.

and she was the one who SHOULD have been offended.
Mr. Antwiler said a reasonably despicable thing in public. The person he was not speaking to did not publicly display offense; so what? What obligates anyone else to mimic her? Why is it somehow unfair or untoward for others to have their own opinions about things?

I especially love the part where she makes herself out to be a victim after basically admitting that she is responsible for the break-up.
"Responsible?" What, she owes it to him to stay with him if she's unhappy?

If thats the case we may end up seeing a nice change when Doug returns. By that i mean a few abusive producers fired, an abusive HR rep fired, & Spoony rehired. Course that's all if this is true. Frankly i would have to say most of it is. Took some doing but the twitter feeds(blasted hellscape though they be) points to wrongdoing by Lupa for whatever reason. Seeing as she started this war with a comment about a joke from a while back & now is now acting like she never commented on it, this Looks bad.
Frankly who do you think he's gonna believe, the HR rep he's had from day 1 or the guy who's currently raging at anyone and everyone (even if he was pushed to go into that state of rage).

Doug is a busy man, I doubt he'll have the time to look into this as far and deep as he probably should, hell many of the reviewers on the site have said they don't know all the details of how the situation got to it's current state and none of them were on vacation when it happened.

To tell the truth, I doubt anything will change once Doug gets involved.
It won't change anything structurally, but he sure as shit isn't going to be happy. And should it come to light that this really was all a powerplay/collaboration between Lupa and the HR rep, you bet that HR rep is going to probably get shoved down in terms of power, who knows maybe a buyout facebook style. You have to remember both Doug and his brother have a huge stake in channel awesome, they get a very hefty cut from the revenue generated from the site, and to not only lose a huge puller like Spoony, but to have Lupa/Phelous possibly leave too under the HR's watch isn't going to make things pleasant at all. Hell, if I was running a company and one of my friends who I employed screwed the pooch this bad, you'd bet I sure as hell would dock their pay or downgrade them and give someone else their position.

Even the neutral CA members know there is a shit-storm waiting for Doug and Rob when they get back.

For number 2, this is the situation as I understand it. Apparently, the developers of XCom got upset over Spoony's "BETRAYAL!" rant, and understandably so. As a result, due to LK's close association to Spoony, they turned down LK's request for an interview, something that apparently still pisses him off.
Really? Cause Spoony and Angry Joe interviewed those guys, and they didn't mind either of them being there.

It was a different XCom game. There's the FPS XCom and the strategy game XCom: Enemy Unknown.

Guys, last thing I'll say, we're over the rape joke. That was not the issue. If you've seen his twitter, you'll know exactly what happened.

So basically Lupa gave Spoony enough rope and let him hang himself with it. Certainly seems rather manipulative. Rather thankful I've never watched any of this jerks videos.

I have a question.

What was the reaction from the TGWTG crew to Lupa bringing up something completely irrelevant way in the past, to someone that is obviously struggling with serious mental issues, just to kick him when he's down (and obviously push him over his limits)? Regardless of how Spoony behaved after he was poked, prodded and bullied into losing control, surely that kind of behavior is considered a pretty reprehensible thing to do?
I have no idea on that. I know a lot of people (not producers) have called her out on doing that though, with varying levels of maturity in the response.

Nobody is in the right here apart from people like Linkara trying to be the voice of reason and those smart enough to ignore/not get involved all together (eg CR and Todd In The Shadows). Spoony is on of my favorite reviewers but even still the way he is going about this is absolutely ludicrous he has made his life now worse then it already was, I am not a fan of Obscurus Lupa at all (neither Phelous for that matter) and am absolutely disgusted that she is trying to attack him when he is possibly in one of the worst stages of his life at the moment. Although Spoony is not definitely not in the right I still feel like I should support him just because he needs it, what does Alison need? Absolutely nothing unless she redeems herself.

*grabs a slice of Internet Drama and digs in* I don't have a horse in this race, never even heard of the people involved, it's just interesting to see how humans interact with each other, particularly when they do it in an illogical or self-destructive manner.

I really hope that everyone involved realizes at some point, that all of this makes them look like a bunch of psychotic man-(and woman-)children that are unfit to be involved in anything that requires any amount of professionalism, restraint or sanity.

Which might be bad in the long run, business-wise.

Oh Lovehug, why must you always be the Blue Ranger.
He's the only one that's been acting perfectly professional during this entire ordeal.

Lewis deserves so much more respect that he gets.
Good to see someone acting professional in this cluster of crazy. More power to him for trying to play peacemaker, but I think it's pretty much set in stone that there's not going to be much to salvage.
I find him to be very confusing.
He seems to be a nice, thoughtful, professional person, who is both willing and able to behave like an adult.
He´s also internet-famous.
How does that work ?

I watched one of hers while on my birthday. Was sick with a cold and couldn't sleep & her video put me right out.
Ya know what... Not taking up arms for Spoony, but it seems hypocritical they'll fire spoony but this Lupa-lass gets away scott free with lighting his fuse.

The way CA and their precious "HR" department have handle this whole thing has really soured me on their site. I might go through Blip or some of the contributers personal websites for their content now and tell CA to go fuck themselves. Really shit way to deal with a person.

Ya know even when Escapist/Extra Credits had that falling out, The Escapist handcrafted us their version of events. They didn't just brush it off with double talk of "Recent events" or "look at his twitter account". Yeah this is incredibly selfish to say, but if your just going to fire one of my favorite workers in this manner I feel I have a right to know the full story before I decide who the hell I want to continue watching.

If they fucked up, just say they fucked up. Vince McMahon addressed his audience the day after Benoit murdered his family.

I know, I suffer from depression and am on several medications and taking therapy. My two aunts and my uncle all have cancer and guess what? They go to work on time. Just because you have problems doesn't mean you should ditch your responsibilities. His fans pay his bills, I think he can contribute in a timely fashion.

Well just judging from what Amazing Athiest had to say in a youtube video posted pages ago, Linkara seems to be kinda an old school stickler for the rules kinda guy.... the kinda human being I'd hate working for if he as a manager at my grocery store.

That said, I like the guy. He appears honest, self-aware about how silly his show is and what not.

From what I've heard, LordKaT got his interview with Notch cancelled and blames it on being associated with Noah. He, apparently, thought that this interview would have made him a "legit" game journalist and he thinks Noah torpedoed his career (something he, ironically, in his rage against Noah, has seemingly managed to accomplish all on his own).

I would assume the real reason his interview got cancelled is because he's small-time and no-one actually gives a shit about him.

This is just shit I've heard about through others, though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Isn't a fan then asking to much? Just go off and watch some other shit and when he posts something, he posts something. He doesn't really owe us anything and vice versa, if you like the cut of his jib great! if you don't just move along down the salad bar.

I think the "old school" part might ultimately be the reason why I like him.
This entire clusterfuck could have been avoided with some "old school" shit like manners, respect and restraint.

And if everyone wants to be a special, rude, edgy snowflake, the only guy who ends up being special and noteworthy is the dude sticking to rules and etiquette.
