Honestly, I think the reason why there's so much 'randomness' and 'strangeness' on this site can be found in the site's moniker- "The Escapist." People are here to escape; to unwind, relax, and have fun while talking about gaming. If that means four Monty Python threads for every Thoughts-About-The-State-Of-Our-Community thread, then maybe that's not such a bad thing after all.

No...it's because usually, I've had some form of contact with 'friends' either online, Xbox Live or in RL. Getting friend requests out of the blue is.. a little disconcerting, I guess, for want of a better description.
