The strangest person you met on this site?

Nobody here is all that strange, judging by all the bitching about Max now that he is gone as opposed to directly replying to his comments while he was still here shows completely normal human behaviour.

Even more amusing (but unsurprising) are the people who claim that Max was an attention seeker and yet tend to be the ones who I'd personally say are the same, the pot calls the kettle black I think.

In all honesty I don't think the people on here are that strange, partly because we can appear to be however we wish to appear on a site like this, and partly because I tend to be open-minded in what I consider weirdness.

Sorry not to be insulting but it's a bit pretentious of you to walk into a thread marked "The strangest person you met on this site?" and expected to find genuinely strange people. I know you meant that with sarcasm but I can't help wondering if you are genuinely playing the "stuck up" type or if you are being sarcastic about that as well.

were you genuinely expecting people on this site to not claim they were a bit odd?. Or is that a sign you want someone to quote you saying "you're odd for saying that".

The way I see it there are two kinds of people that respond to this thread. Those that like a bit of fun, playfulness and humor and those who don't see the inherent mirth in a thread like this and chose a stuck up comment. It's harmless fun for people to pretend to be insane on a gaming forum but of course you can always be mr. disparaging.

I think you didn't get what I meant at all. What I mean is, that it's *WARNING SARCASM AHEAD* soooooo surprising that when there's a thread about who the weirdest person on the escapist is, every user and their mother jumps in and starts being weird. They might as well wave a sign around saying "Hey! Look at me! Vote for me! I'm weird!".

I like humor as much as the next person, I just hate it that when a thread like this crops up, people are more busy trying to get people to notice them so they can enlarge their e-pene, rather than congratulate other members for being genuinely funny and weird through posts they have made elsewhere. Saying "I'm weird" and voting for yourself is downright prentetious and douchy. Throwing around random words in this thread just as much. Just my oppinion.

Please, spare me your forked conjecture!!. I already said that I knew you were being sarcastic, so what you have clearly done here was waste my time but I am going to be nice and not waste yours.

To put it simply, if you came into this thread to say "oh my, look at all you fake people" you are just as guilty of the thing you are accusing everyone else of. This is a gaming site, to not expect such things from such a thread is

b) pretentious

I'm going to assume that you mean "strange" in a humorous way. A lot of people on this website act weird, but it's easy to tell that they just act that way for attention. I find this behavior to be annoying.

I'd say Wanderfreak. His weird jokes are actually humorous and don't feel forced.

I wish I knew what happened to him. One day I just saw a 'user was banned' line under his last post. It's a shame he and NoMoreSanity had to leave us.

I don't consider it a shame at all. Both of them constantly taunted the moderators by violating the rules. They could be quite rude to other members on the site, and both of them receive probations quite often. It was only a matter of time before they got the ban, and they deserved it.

Max flipped out andinsulted someone over a trivial issue. It was the straw that broke the camels back.

First of all, no, I didn't try to belittle you or anything with my emphasised sarcasm. As you very well know, that way of writing is pretty common on the internet. But fair enough, I guess in the context, it could be taken wrong.

Second of all, no, I didn't come in just to insult a lot of people by calling them fake. I came in here to answer the OP's question. Which I did, by the way. I then made a small remark on what I think is a little sad. Then you made in an issue, so I had to go into details.

Third, I fail to see how being a gaming site automatically means that people will strive to act weird in a thread about mentioning who they think is weird. I am all for weird. But when people start being weird in this thread, then I start wondering...

I might be a very pretentious person. I'll let others judge that, and, fair enough, you have. I just don't think you are being very fair, and making an issue where there really is none.

Last of all, if you are just gonna walk off in an attempt to get the last word, why did you even start this discussion? And if you disagree with what I've said, would it perhaps not have been more productive to chill, and reply in a less angry and offensive manner? I mean, I never once called you pretentious, did I?

Same, never had a conversation with the guy but judging by the posts he made I can see why some find his tastes rather poor. He had the same angst tone in most of his post. Still I am not one to judge anyway especially since we never had a direct chat.

Neonbob, because he nukes wales and Furburt because he seems to live, literally, in these forums. He's always either the first to comment on a thread or on the first page, it's uncanny to the point that he's either gifted or merged his soul with the Escapist server.

The people who 'befriended' me without seemingly any prior contact/communication beforehand. Bit strange, that.
