When I lost my scout/archer in civilisation 5. He was my first scout and he got upgraded to a archer by some ruins. Lost him in a stupid way too. I crashed down on barbarians after that.

Bioshock 2: Realizing I had just killed Mark Meltzer. It's kinda surprising because the game gives no special appreciation or cutscene to it, and I'm left looking at a girl that must have been the daughter he gave his life to try and save.

Minecraft also gets it for losing my dog/wolf I had spent a long time with. Creepers seem to take everything in an instant. I sometimes wonder what kind of interest creepers really add to the game. Send em all underground if you ask me.

I had been playing Farcry 2 for the first time awhile ago and was besties with Josip, he'd save my arse when I got in trouble, Give me helpful mission advice and secondary objectives, and was just an overall badarse.
We were inseperable and unstopable.

Then it all went wrong.

We had just finished a mission where I had to burn a greenhouse with Josip providing Air support in a duster, anyway everything was buisiness as usual, Josip got shot down, I had to go save him, same with every other mission.

When I arrived at Josips location I easily dispatched then enemies and saved him, he thanked me then promptly got shot to shit by a patrol out of freaking nowhere (turns out we were standing on a patrol respawn point).

No ammount of Morphine helped, Josip died in my arms.
I can't remember the last time I felt so empty.
I haven't played Farcry 2 since.

I only just got Final Fantasy III (VI) and I only just made it to the Phantom Train.

I think that's all I need to say about that.
That's just one of the reasons it's an awesome game. That, and Sabin being able to suplex the damned train. o_O

*SPOILER WARNING*

In Grandia 1, there's a part where the character named Sue departs your party for good. The scene is incredibly emotional and for the most part the game makes you feel attached to Sue up to this point. That's why I always go into manly tears mode when this music hits...

(I dare anyone to listen to this song while thinking about someone special in your life and NOT cry throughout the whole thing.)
I watched it,thought of someone special and no tears 0_O
maybe I just have a heart of stone or something?
but still a very beautiful song
My guess is that you haven't played Grandia 1 before. Otherwise, you would know the irony of your second statement. I figured it was a beautiful enough song to induce tears on its own.
yea no I have not played grandia 1. (would love to though)
and I would like to know the irony of my second statement because this could be bad for me.

Pretty much the whole plot of Alice: Madness Returns. The revelation at the end coupled with all the memories from her family really just made me feel really bad for Alice.
EDIT: Disregard this. I have a post on the first page, but assumed this was a new thread. Sooo, yeah.

This cinematic probably made me the most emotional of all the games I played, it filled me with a massive amount of pride and awe.

I pretty much cried when I had to kill Zeke.

He just kept getting up...

Aerith dying was pretty big shock too.

Holy meow. I ran out of breath reading that. Ever heard of periods or commas? xD

Anyways, I remember that too. I FLIPPED OUT when he killed my dog... I was so happy to find out you could bring him back. Forget my wife (yes, I am a girl and I had a wife... a husband also, but I sacrificed him to the Temple of Shadows), I wanted my freaking DOG BACK!!!

When Navi left at the end of Ocarina of Time.
Yes, she was annoying, but she was your partner. And she just leaves? World saved, bye!
I teared up a bit.

Near the end of Jade Empire, where you see the full scope of the Emperor's crimes against nature and you have to make the big moral choice. Chokes me up every time.

I'm going to blow your minds by saying Minecraft. That's right, the game with no narrative. Or does it? On multiplayer servers, it does. especially on anarchy servers. Let me explain.

3 months ago, I went on an expedition to a very far land where we planned to make a "high point" base for all the higher ups on the server. sadly, after we cleared an area, most of the expedition left. I was left alone, but had a new idea. Why not make a town that would be a town collective point? as in, a meeting place for towns? to do this would be amazing, as I would be making a gov't in an anarchy server. So I got building.

and, after 2 months of building, this was the result (no guarantee the photo will be up)

http://imageshack.us/f/220/unledju.jpg/

for 1 month, I had at most 5 towns, totally to about 50 people, and most of the server's populace. However, a great cloud descended on the building. the server added factions, making my timeless work an unfortunate tragedy. I had a sad day today, as today was the official closing off of the Sanctum, what we christened the building. I'll miss it, but perhaps it is a phoenix that will rise among the ashes. Or perhaps it is a mere tombstone representing humanity's valor, a strive to accomplish, and ultimately never achieve. Physically, I did not cry, but my soul cries tears for this sorrowful, yet still momentous, day.

I highly recommend the game. Beautiful story, Noriyuki Iwadare is excellent as the game's composer (She did music for the LUNAR series as well as Wild ARMs 1, I believe) and a wonderful cast of characters. The game does suffer a bit in the graphics department, but its unique gameplay and story more than make up for it. And as for that second statement, when (and if) you get to the second half of the game, you will understand the irony of what you said.

That was awe inspiring so was the speech you put together when you search for Saren right after being given the Normandy. The funny bit is they turned that into a bit from a movie trailer. That was HILARIOUS!

Yeah that was a very emotional tragic moment, I couldn't help but think: "Dammit if only I had been faster!"

My emotional scene has to be this from Mass Effect 2: http://youtu.be/Vy1E4eX484o
after seeing her get blow to bits, it is good to have her back.

i mean wtf is that shit? i felt emotionally taken advantage of, how dare they deny me a fairy tale ending after all that jumping around and shenanigans. Of course im going to destroy the world to get her back, asshats. OH and thanks for making me feel bad about that too.
Yeah funny thing that reverse time, kill the traitor, and I don't get the girl in the end? Of course not she has no idea who you are, she JUST meet you. Not every ending has to be a happy one, that was a satisfying ending and the prince is still young there is still plenty of adventure left for him.

As if it needs to be said again. Gears of War 2. When Dom found Maria I just felt absolutely gutted, which was weird cause I don't usually empathise with video game characters. It felt strange getting back into the gears action after watching that surprisingly well done, emotional scene.

Mass Effect 2 was the other one. I was a paragon, my romance option was Tali and Jack wouldn't talk to me. Then at the very beginning of the last mission, she died before we even entered the collector base (I hadn't upgraded the ship very well). That stopped me in my tracks for a bit, even though she hated my character. Oh and failing Thane's personal mission. I genuinely felt bad for messing it up.
