Actually marriage isn't a Church tradition. The "Bonding" of 2 people as practiced long before the church game into "use".
I meant marriage in a legal sense. Our laws are based on church teachings and traditions.

Yes we humans have had monogamy since we emerged as a species, wanderring the grasslands and savannas of Africa in small family groups.

theres only 1 threat of gay marriage, straight people pretending to be married to avoid paying taxes.

tax breaks for married couples are supposed to encourage saving for children.

i have nothing against gays; but logically, they shouldnt get the tax breaks imo.
Why not? Hetrosexual couples who have no intention of having children would still get the tax breaks, wouldn't they? And gay couples could adopt a child. I fail to see your reasoning.
adoption doesn't involve hospital bills. i dont know if you've seen how much it costs recently, but it's expensive.

What I wonder is this: should that law be taken literally? I mean, the law in America means it isn't legal to get married, but would it mean it's also illegal to be married?

You know what?

The thought that some people actually support this and wish to be involved in this makes me physically sick to my stomach. It is not against God's Will, as God gave us FREE WILL. Free Will means that humans may do as they please, and must do what they want to in order to succeed. It isn't wrong or Immoral, as this is what some people prefer, and if it makes them happy and harms no-one else, then who are we to judge?

Stop this NOM. This is pointless. They do no-one any harm.

This reminds me of a nice quote from South Park, where Butters thinks he's bicurious without really knowing what that means. But I feel it's true nonetheless:

"Because if I'm bicurious and I'm somehow made from God then I figure God must be a little bicurious himself!"

Nothing wrong with being hetero or gay or bi or whatever, we're all just people.

Christopher Hitchens is right, religion poisons everything.

These disgusting people are allowed to publicly voice their bigotry and expect to get away with it because they claim to act out of 'faith' and mask their hatred behind codified religious language.

In the USA and the UK faith cannot be criticised. Hence cop-outs like this so that the politicians avoid having to tell the religious right that they are morally wrong:

Did they like get a load of homophobes and make them all like "hey guys lets not support same sex marriage"

Isn't it legal in the UK? They might as well come over here to get married.
In Britain you can get what is called a "Civil Partnership". It's basically identical to marriage, in that the participants obtain almost identical rights to those of a heterosexual union, but because it isn't actually called a marriage the politicians can still keep the conservatives reasonably happy by claiming they're still protecting the "sanctity of marriage" since it's still only straight couples who can actually marry.

As a law student in Britain I think it's a load of bull. Why have two separate laws that say exactly the same thing? It makes no sense and if nothing else, it's bad for the environment since the legislature have to write out the same legislation twice. :p
Faith/religion should be criticised like any other system of belief. When you do start to rationally critique religion you realise that all religions (despite the goodness of moderate believers) stand in the way of social progress and uphold outdated or impossible moral guidelines.

Poor Jean-Luc, he's had to do that so much over the course of the internet. His forehead will soon be worn away.

Laughed my strait ass off. I think the video is for real which makes it even more funnyer. "There is a storm gathering !". People run and hide from the incoming food of gay couples that want to infect you ! If we don't stop gay marriage now one day YOU might wake up and be married to a dude xD.

Oh, it's a US thing. Gay marriage isn't a big deal for this Christian. It's legal here in the UK and it's called Civil Partnership or something.

They are legitimate retards.

Anyone else up for bombing that place? Seriously, clean up the gene pool of a bunch of cretins. The world will be a better place.

As a gay man I love this video so much. After all, why bother discrediting them and making them look stupid when they do it so beautifully to themselves?

NOM NOM NOM - the gays will not take sandvich!

Ahem, I mean, Seriously, was anyone else watching that and just thinking...

'Whoa, they have tried SO hard to cram someone from every racial group into this, yet they're going to be anti gay?'

It just seems like they've gone out of their way to make a politically correct ad, in one sense, while just blowing everyone minds with anti gay idiocy in the other direction.

In the words of Richard Herring 'All homophobes should be bummed by a big oily gay.'

I paraphrase, but that's about the nub of it.

Just a few lines from it

'My freedom will be taken away' - Not unless a lesbian forces you to marry her, no it won't.

'I'm a doc forced to choose between my faith and job' Again, no, you treat everyone or you fail as a doctor.

'I'm having to stand by and watch my school teach my son that gay marriage is ok' Now , part of me thinks perhaps gay marriage should be taught as not 'the norm' but an acceptable option, however, the look on her face while she speaks, so utterly repulsed by just the word 'gay', makes me think, fuck her, teach her kids gay is the only acceptable option.

MY big problem with the whole thing is they say their freedoms are being taken away, but make no attempt to educate us on what freedoms are being removed by people they don't know and wouldn't like getting married?

Then I remembered, education is the enemy of discrimination and religion.

Also, 4000 views and 3000 comments? that's a seriously commented video and doesn't seem to have much support.

Maybe they'll just have to accept that some people will do things they dont like, and go around doing things that do not affect them in any way.

Of course, maybe they'd like to educate me differently, and explain the threat of the gay.

I'm now imagining a huge oiled moustachioed Zeus, riding around on a cloud in pink spandex shorts, zapping homophobes with lightning bolts, raining 'gaystorm' down upon them.

This too, they're the equivalent of Jack Thompson, we should be grateful there's people like this being anti gay, or there might be more people who could maybe construct an argument against it, one better than *rolls eyes back into skull* "Mahhh God says he don't like it in the buutttt!"

*Update* It gets better, they're using a bunch of kids who can hardly speak to promote their message in a sickenly 'cute' style.

'My teacher says if grandpa was a woman he could still be married'

It's showing the way it could 'confuse' young children.

Young children are confused by those toys where there's square blocks and round holes.

Of course the concept of marriage, and gay marriage is going to be confusing, that's why we're trying to educate them, which you seem to be against in the previous video, fuckwits.

Anyways, that's about a page of rant from me, so I'll shut up til later.
