Comparing Top Lists applying different filters can be fun/interesting. So here's a little game for you.

- Go to this site All-Time Top games chart [http://www.unikgamer.com/tops/greatest-video-games-of-all-time-1.html] where every games are ranked by "us" (gamers like you and me, not critics)
- Apply all the filters that apply to you (e.g., I would put "Male," "France," and "Born 1980-1984")
- Post the top 10 results of the list here!
- Please specify which filters you used to get your list.
- Post your own Top 25 link to see how close you are to your brethren :)

If you haven't done so already, go make your own Top 25 [http://www.unikgamer.com/register.html] to influence these lists and have a better representation of the general opinion.

Here's what I get:

#1: Forza Motorsport 3
#2: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
#3: Half-Life
#4: Flashback
#5: Final Fantasy VII
#6: Gears of War
#7: Mass Effect
#8: GoldenEye 007
#9: Colin McRae Rally 2005
#10: Beyond Good & Evil

and here is my all time Top 25 [http://www.unikgamer.com/members/papissama-1.html].

PS: A nation has to reach at least 30 gamers to appear on those filters.

Entering my demographic (Female, Canada, 1990-1994) gave no results. I suppose they haven't done one for every combination yet.

Male, '80-'84, USA

1. Final Fantasy VI (Is this III?)
2. TLoZ: link to the past
3. Chrono Trigger
4. Super Metroid
5. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
6. Super Mario Bros. 3
7. Final Fantasy VII
8. Final Fantasy Tactics
9. Half-Life 2
10. tLoZ: Ocarina of Time

I really liked 1,2,3,5,7,8, & 9. Felt indifferent to 4 and 10, and really didn't care for 6

So all in all not bad, not what I would have put as my top ten, but surprising as it just had three fields to trim down the demographic.

Uhhh. . .

It's hard to say, since I'm not really equipped with information to judge a generation. But I was born in 1989, so here's my arbitrary list of games that were huge with my peers:

#1. GoldenEye 007
#2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
#3. Grand Theft Auto III
#4. Pokémon Red/Blue
#5. Final Fantasy VII
#6. StarCraft
#7. Halo: Combat Evolved
#8. The Sims
#9. Super Smash Bros./Melee
#10. Soul Calibur II

I got the same list. It's not in the order that I would put it by any means but I love every game on that list with all my heart. If I had the option of saving a life or living in a world those games had never existed... well, let's hope it's not your life.

It means that no female of your age group from Canada made a list yet. You could be the first one :)

Born in 1993, didn't have anything for Australia so I just went for all countries. Results weren't actually that surprising.

#1 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
#2 Pokemon Gold and Silver
#3 Super Smash Bros. Melee
#4 Half-Life 2
#5 The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
#6 Final Fantasy X
#7 Portal
#8 Super Mario 64
#9 The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
#10 Resident Evil 4

Nintendo kinda dominates my generation...

They don't have Australia but I thought UK would cover me pretty well, so male, UK, 1985-1989:

#1. Metal Gear Solid
#2. Half-Life 2
#3. Deus Ex
#4. Final Fantasy X
#5. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time
#6. Final Fantasy VII
#7. Goldeneye 007
#8. Portal
#9. Fallout 3
#10. Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

I like a lot of the games in the list, never played/dislike a few of them, but I don't find it particularly representative of my own tastes, though I have to admit it seems like it represents my peers pretty well.

EDIT: Missed the "all countries" option, let me include those too:

#1. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time
#2. Final Fantasy VII
#3. Chrono Trigger
#4. Half-Life 2
#5. Final Fantasy X
#6. Resident Evil 4
#7. Metal Gear Solid
#8. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
#9. Portal
#10. Shadow Of The Colossus

This still isn't close to being perfect but it does represent me a lot more.

Male, UK, 90-94

1.Half life 2
2.Uncharted 2: Among theives
3.Portal
4.Final Fantasy X
5.The elder scrolls IV: Oblivion
6.Super Mario Galaxy
7.Final Fantasy IX
8.Pokemon Gold and silver
9.Mass effect 2
10.Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time

okaay, first off, I have only played 2 of those games (Pokemon and LoZ, though I have played the sequel to mario galaxy, but that shows up further down on the list so moot point) I find most of the final fantasy's a bit boring so that's both 4 and 7 out, i won't make an opinion on the valve games until I play them

Male, '90-94' United Kingdom (I'm Australian but that option didn't come up and i figured the UK seems to be the closest in tastes for some reason.)

1. Half Life 2
2. Uncharted 2
3. Portal
4. Final Fantasy X
5. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
6. Super Mario Galaxy
7. Final Fantasy IX
8. Pokemon Gold and Silver
9. Mass Effect 2
10. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time

Final Fantasy X is one of my two favourite games of all time.
1, 2, 3, I think are good
5, From what I've experienced I didn't really enjoy it.
6, 8, 10, Haven't played but from what I know, I think I would enjoy them quite a bit.
9, From what I played, it was pretty good.

Oddly enough if I keep my age, but change my sex to female and my location as either US or UK I get a list much closer to what I'd have as my top 10 with Secret of Mana, Fallout 2, Civ 2, System Shock 2, Mass Effect and Chrono Trigger (in no particular order) being included in the top 10, and star fox just out of reach of the 10.

Man, I've yet to meet a girl with those near her top ten, but thanks to unikgamer I can hope :).

NO. You're NEVER the only person to think something. Stop asking such hyperbolic questions from now until the end of time please.

I got a pretty decent list, but Ocarina of Time was at the top, which I definitely don't agree with because I would put a certain God Dog game in that slot personally...

Female, 1985-1989, United States

LoZ A Link to the Past: No
Tales of Symphonia: No
Dragon Age Origins: Not top 10, but I liked it.
Kingdom Hearts: Hahahahahahaha....no, really, not feeling it.
Super Mario World: Meh, not my cup of tea.
Shin Megami Tensai: Persona 4 : Nope, nah-ah, me no like-ey.
LoZ Majora's Mask: I liked it, not amazing, but a solid game.
Fallout New Vegas: Not top 10, but I did really like it.
Pokemon Red & Blue: I prefer Yellow, but Red/Blue are close enough to be subbed in.

_

Ugh, JRPG's and old Nintendo titles, although I did like Majora's Mask, although probably not enough to have it in my top 20. All in all, a really crappy list for me. Changing the criteria to All Countries gave me a much better list.

Same demographic. I'm not saying that those are my favorite games ever, because some of them are not (however, some of them are: LttP, Ocarina, FF6, Super Metroid, Castlevania). All of them, though, are dear to my heart and important to the larger evolution of videogames. And of course, my semi-emotional reaction to this is the result of most of these games coming out when I was in my youth and established forever certain benchmarks in advancement and quality. So, yeah, there's that. And call me an asshole but I think every single one of the games on that list is actually "important" in a greater sense. Which means it was awesome being a teen in the 90s, basically.
