I'm not Mut/Prep anymore. Ever seen a Frost Mage get rolled by a Sub rogue? It's like watching a kitten being blended.

And for anyone interested in Escapist history, back in the day this is where I would have written 6000 words of fiction of how it would go down, but eventually it would end up as WH40K and the pallies would kill me. At some point Angels would have been mentioned, and fire. There would be a high probability of metaphors involving a storm, molten metal or norse mythology. About a 50/50 chance of the planet being destroyed at some point, possibly more than once.

We are better for the changes in my posting habits.

I also remember when the term "Gone Gonzo" meant you were the guy. Everyone respected you. Today, Gone Gonzo just means another bloke that passed 1000...

Yeah, I agree the awesomeness of being a Gonzo has passed but I think the same reverence is passed on to anyone On The Record. But it doesn't quite have the same ring to it... I'm always suprised when I see someone with 5000 posts I've never seen before, but I've seen so many Gonzo's I've never seen before now that I barely take notice.

Still, I was happy when I finally went Gonzo, but I took a 6 month break too. I'd probably have at least 4000 posts by now.

What does this make of our Nobel Laurettes? I'm sure there's only a handfull about. Max, Neonbob and Root?

Kikul? I actually liked him, sure he was a troll alot of the times, but he was hilarious and everything he said was usually true. He's one of the few people whose posts I remember reading before I even made a profile here.

I was a lurker for about a year before I made a profile, I rememeber the inception of alot of the high post/classic threads that are still around today.

Mobius was the very first escapist to actually write me a PM, concerning something about Star Wars... I don't rememebr what is was about though. I also remember him getting pissed off at me for something I wrote in reponse to one of his oddly revealing posts about his sexual life... he ahd a habit of doing that alot. I also remember him getiing banned and before that the thread he made, while in character, announcing his intent to leave.

I also rememebr making fun of Ultrajoe for the gender flip he/she kept pulling, I still to this day am not sure which is the truth.

I can also recall the outrage at Necroswansons ban... I didn't really care too much though, he was a deciple Mobius and pretty much agreed with whatever Mobius said or did. I honestly didn't see why so many people were upset that he was banned.... at all. He also got pissed off at me a few times for my responses in the threads.

Ahh, that was Kukul, the other member of Teh Troll Troika with me and Eggo, as identified by Darth Mobius and seconded by The Necro. Crazy times.

I rememeber the hatred those two guys had for you three, especially Darth Mobius' idea you were most awful.

I think Root would still be considered On the Record. That is, if his title wasn't altered to Time Lord. He would almost be at Wordsmith Extraordinaire right now.

-Why all the hate against (Insert religion/belief here)
-Ultra Joe makes some ultra lulz in between.
-RP section opens up somewhere in there, lots go there never to be seen again in the Games Discussion.
-Slow but inevitable decline to level of intelligence as "Gamespot". God help us all.

Oh and Eggo getting banned was the saddest of days.

The man speaks the truth, I don't post much but I do read alot.

I remember.. back when Joe was The Mod, before there was Wilson. Before he evolved into Wilcypher. I remember Red and Yellow cards. I remember a time before there were such cliquey divisions between Escapists. When we were pretentious. When we were proud.

There was the first Picture Thread, with The Ares/Aries twins having a bare-chest (or in the case of Ares Tyr Ninja-Bear-chest) off for the greatest sexy. I remember the way people fumed in jealousy at the first Escapism, with everyone planning their own. It wasn't for another 7 months that someone other than the Australian East-Coasters actually had one.

I remember a 4-chan raid. Funk Did Swing His Hammer And It Was Epic.

Nostalgia how you colour things in such a wonderful light. I'm 99% sure that dispite my memory of the time I was a total arse when I first joined, at the very least unable to spell basic words.

I belive the first structured RP done on the froums was PurpleRain's (who was/is one of the two people I respect most on the Escapist) Starcraft Lynching thread, but was it?

As for people remembered for awesome avatars...am I one of them? *big eyed sniffle*
I think the most memorable thing for me was the First Escapist Election, as well as the second which I ran in for a short period...and then the actions of my running mates turned the whole thing topsy turvey and there was an epic fight between me and RGP over everything.
I for one liked the "elitist clique" days of The Escapist that everybody else seemed to hate...go figure.
