Oh man, it was so long ago that I don't know if I can remember the exact game that turned me on to gaming. But if I had to say one game it would have to be Insomniac Studios's second ever game: Spyro the Dragon on PS1. I remember being hooked the first time I played it at a friends. Man I love that game.

That would be what started it all. I played that game to death.

:(

Fuck... I'm old...

What the hell is that thing. Looks like some kind of keyboard, wat.
It is! You'd plug it into your TV, and then play the games, which came on audio cassetes. It was AWESOME!!!

... back in 1985...
Here in Brazil imports were very restricted untill 1991, so there was a radio show that aired a game every weekend (they broadcasted the sound of the game on the recorder, we would tape it and play it in our computers!). Piracy was not a word we were familiar with.

But about the game, I would have to go with River Raid, for the old Atari 2600.

I played since I was 5 years old with the N64, my favorite game was the original smash bros. My mum always forbid me of a Gamecube. I was driven away and then I bought My wii. Smash Bros Brawl did it for me.
Then I decided the Wii wasn't going to do it. So to satisfy my hardcore needs, I bought an Xbox 360. Cheers mates.

Life-force/Salamander for the Nes. My older brothers and I would play that game for hours and hours passing the controller around seeing how far we could get. We did that during the OJ trial while we placed bets on the verdict. Ah good times.

What got me into gaming? I'm not sure honestly, there were a few games on my dad's pc that I would occasionally look at w/o him knowing (whenever I heard stairs coming down the stairs I would just hit the power button.) We also had quite a few game consoles, so several games got me into gaming I suppose.

Specifically the first Halo got me into shooters, and Unreal '04 got me into online play. Played this racing server for the longest time (I think I was about 10/11 years old at the time and I was not the annoying little brat,) and got to rank 5 on the server. Then the server got closed down which made me very sad, but I moved onto other online games.

Doom for the PC. I got into it around 5 years old. Then I quickly moved to play Sonic 2 over and over again.

the original Mario on the NES. Played it straight until 11pm, which was all my poor young body could handle.

The first flight combat game I bought was TIE Fighter. The first Platformer Super Mario 64. My first shooter? Goldeneye.

It's been a steady downhill slope ever since. I peaked too early!

The first video games I can ever remember playing are Super Mario Bros. 3 and Duck Hunt. I can't remember which one was the first, but they were the ones that got me into video games.

Damn, that was a long time ago. I think it was when I got a N64 for my birthday, and it came with Mario Party & Super Smash Bros. If it wasn't that, hell I'd say it was the original Pokemon Red? or maybe it was Blue? maybe. . . Yellow!!! Hell if I know

My first game ever was something on the Turbographics (sp) but it wasn't substantial eneuph. The game that really made me a gamer was Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Best. Game. Ever.

My very first game was Rayman 2: TGE for the N64, but I would have to say that the game which truly got me into "gaming" in general was... well I think I'll have to cite three to truly answer the question.

There was Halo: Combat Evolved, which was the first game I ever really played multiplayer with my friends. Then there was Halo 2, which was the first console/shooter game I ever played regularly online. On the PC front, there was Everquest, which was my first MMO. I played it when I was 8 with my dad, which inevitably led me to try World of Warcraft a few years later when it came out and I only finally put that to rest with little intention of returning several months ago.

Probably watching my dad play Wolfenstein 3D in the early 90s. That game was amazing.

Then I was also into Duke Nukem (not 3D), Commander Keen, The game where you're a kid with a slingshot and you fight monsters (platformer).

First Console games were Crash Bandicoot and Tombi.
