When Ribbon woke up the first time, there was giant cat rubbing her tummy.
This is a Surrealist dream, she decided. Cats don't rub peoples' tummies. People rub cats' tummies. The notion was so profoundly artistic that Ribbon decided she must have seen a painting or something depicting a similar scene, and that she'd been thinking about it when she passed out from shock earlier. Oh, yeah, there was still that spike in her middle in the waking world. Ribbon didn't really feel like waking up any time soon.
Strangely, even though she was dreaming, Ribbon felt tired. Usually she felt wide awake in her dreams. Ribbon closed her eyes and fell - well, I guess double-asleep. Like Inception. Man, Inception was a good movie.
When Ribbon woke up - or double-woke-up, from her perspective - the cat wasn't there, but she was lying in the same position on the floor, her dress pulled all the way up so that her tummy was exposed, and with no sign that there'd been a spike running through her last time she'd been fully conscious. Ribbon thought about this for a second.
"Ah... oh, yeah, we live in a fantasy-universe where everybody has magic powers. That'd explain it."
Ribbon saw that Cool Jack, Maria and Cait were still in the basement with her. "Hey, someone come give me a hand getting up, alright? Don't look at my underwear."
