The worst achievements of all time

The achievements for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie tie in: The Game were pathetic.

I'll generally only go for achievements if they have an interesting title or they are for something that I would find genuinely fun trying to complete.

As a result I thought I didn't have any 100% completions for any of my games.

Ninja Turtles proved me wrong.

I played through the games once. In about 3 hours.

I have every achievement for that game.

Some of the Eat lead ones (as already mentioned)

Starting the game
Pausing the game
watching the credits

then there were some thrown at you for nothing

Completing the interrogation section (there wasn't one)
Playing co-op mode (there wasn't one)

Others that I don't like are those that require a lot of online play for next to no reward, things like Socom Confrontation.

Other than that it's the annoying collect every tiny little collectible that have no bearing or relevance to the game (such as Prototype)

The Spellslinger achievement on Magic the Gathering. You just have to defeat someone who has that achievement, and the thing is worth zero points. Yeah, an achievement worth no points... what's the point?

They had something like that in Left 4 Dead. Valve called it a "Viral Achievement" to see how far it would spread.

OT: The achievement for tossing Charon's head into the abyss in Dante's Inferno. I giggled at the fact that it was actually an achievement.

I'd rather take those ones I've read about earlier that are insane to get... At least by that point you feel some form of accomplishment if it's something you look for when playing a game...

They really got lazy with achievements, not to mention various obvious problems with gaming these days =\

Well there was the kick the chiken acheivement from Fable. Also the Avate the Last Airbender game which all the acheivements were getting combat multiplyers.

I still dislike that. I would have mixed up my party for the entire game anyway just because. I don't want to be restricted to the same two party members for the whole game just for the sake of getting an achievement. And then replaying twice more with the same restriction just for more achievements. I normally don't farm the game dry for all the points, but I do them if they're within reach. The 80% ones were attainable, but painfully added to the tedium of the side missions because I couldn't vary my party.

Well, I will give you that it did force you to plan your play throughs somewhat.... but overall I liked that you were encouraged to try everyone. I suppose there's a fine line between encouragement and force. What they probably should have done was make the 80% cumulative through multiple play throughs, that way you just had to complete x number of missions with each guy.

I hate multiplayer only achievements. I realize they are necessary because most people are not like Yahtzee and I (people who hate dealing with asshole players who aren't in the same room) but I'd prefer to not have nearly half the achievements be only available to those who play online. I also hate ones that require TONS of grinding and work to be done, such as the EXCESSIVE victory and kill achievements that Gears of War 2 has..

I don't mind the progress/beating the game achievements. I think you SHOULD be rewarded for beating a game. Not everyone plays a game from beginning to end. Also, I think beating the game on normal difficulty deserves at LEAST 30 points.

I just looked back and Perfect Dark Zero basically encompasses all my HATED achievements. You only get 10 goddamn points for beating the game, and about 95% of the other achievements are multiplayer based grindfests..

Fable 2 also had some pretty ridiculous ways of getting achievements. I could either spend the game getting them or I could join in a multiplayer game and watch people get them and they would count for me.......yeah

Too Human had an achievement for dying 100 times.

A FUCKING ACHIEVEMENT.

FOR DYING.

But it is really not surprise, seeing as you die every two minutes in that game.

I dunno, I kind of like achievements you get for dying, mostly because I often die an embarrassing amount, and some kind of consolation prize is kind of nice.

Splosion Man has an achievement for watching the credits and you don't even have to beat the game.The credits are selectable from the start menu.Oh and there's another for customising the controls...which aren't customisable

Goodnight Sweet Prince from Farcry 2. You have to kill a guy who probably saved your ass more times than you can remember, because you can't heal him back to good health.

Suprisingly the game gives you 40G for that.

that was one of the best acheivments ive ever had, i got really attached to my best buddy in that game and was really sad when i couldent heal him, and the name of the acheivment really warmed my heart alittle

Also, I got every achievement in Resident Evil 5, which is no easy feat, and then they added 10 more which you can only get if you buy the shitty multiplayer add-on. Fucking dick weasels.
