I'm sure he's already been mentioned at least once already...but Tom Cruise. :p
Are you confusing real life Tom Cruise with on-screen Tom Cruise?

He's a great actor. Name three films he has been truly awful in...
Let's see....

Mission Impossible.

Mission Impossible 2.

Mission Impossible 3.

:p That wasn't too hard.
Not that I agree with you but that's the same character... If you didn't like him in the first you weren't going to like him...
You asked for three movies so I gave you three movies. Same character, but that's 3 different opportunities for acting.

I do appreciate, however, that you realize this is based on personal opinion. :p
Well I can't argue for that reason alone. But he's been terrific in the past. Interview with a vampire, Top Gun, Collateral, The Last Samurai, Valkyrie, Eyes Wide Shut... All very different roles but he is great in all of them.

Keanu Reaves. Watch Dracula, and you'll see what I mean.

"Oh, my wife is dying... should I show some emotion?

...

...Nah."
On the flip side Gary Oldman is amazing as Dracula.
Anthony Hopkin's accent is funny too.

Nick Cage is really hit and miss. In some films he's brilliant, but then on the flipside 'NOT THE BEES!!'
implying "NOT THE BEES AAAAAAAAUGH THEY'RE IN MY EYYYYES MYYY EEEEYYYYYYESSS AAAAUUUUUGHAGHKJQWH AELFJHKSAHD LKDASGHJASKL" wasn't the fourth best scene in cinematic history

Kristen Stewart, Nicholas Cage, and Rene Zellweger (she isn't even deserving of having her name spelled correctly, she's that terrible).

The second because he can't display any emotion in any realistic fashion.
Bad Lieutenant. Con Air. Leaving Las Vegas. National Treasure. Vampire's Kiss. <color=f7f7f7>/trollface on the last one

Try again?

Anyway, I have really come to dislike Jim Carrey. A LOT. He is not an actor. He fails to fit the criteria. He always pulls the exact same personality every single time. That's not acting. Acting is to be able to pretend you are other personalities. This is far from acting. He's energetic, but he doesn't really "act", strictly-speaking.

Have I yet mentioned enough times that he really can't actually "act"?
Then you probably haven't seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, because he does act in there. And pretty fucking good, too.

Not saying he hasn't been in mostly shit, but he can definately act when under the proper direction.

Reading through this I'm also thinking Nicholas Cage.

Marvel had a big party this year...and there's a reason Ghost Rider wasn't invited.

Of that list, I'll grant you Top Gun, Interview with a Vampire, and Last Samurai, the rest were absolute crap if you ask me.

I will admit, though, I don't like Tommy as a person in general, so that does bias me towards disliking his acting.

I don't know about the other two, but this is definitely one:
OMG I love that movie! Most hilariously awful movie ever!

Fair enough... By association though, John Travolta... I forget, was he ever good in a film?

Ryan Reynolds.

He plays the same annoying, smarmy, smirky, cocky guy in every movie that I want to punch in the face and kick down a flight of stairs. A nice big "This is Sparta!" kick in his back down a flight of metal stairs.

It was the Cage-eyes, wasn't it? The Cage-eyes get everyone.

:p I was actually going to name him but forgot how to spell his last name and didn't feel like looking it up.

And no, no he hasn't.

Broken Arrow is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen...made even funnier by the fact that it's not supposed to be funny.

You're only including a few of those elements for each of the movies. Please explain to me how ALL of those films fit your rather specific formula. What's more, he has fairly a different personality in each of those films. Heck, in Face Off and Adaptation he plays two different characters (sort of) in each movie. It sounds more like you're just trying to shoehorn those films in to meet your own preconceived notions. I'll give you the slightly eccentric bit, as he does tend to have eccentricities in most films he plays in. However, given that those eccentricities and the way they're portrayed vary significantly from character to character, it's not as though that's the most damning thing that could be said about an actor.
Sorry, you can't expect me to take the time to do anything you're accusing me of being bias about; that's rather self defeating waste of time. You like him, I don't and gave reasons. You disagree, now we can move on with our lives.
It would probably be easier to just say "his characters in those films don't all fit that narrow formula", which would be an accurate statement.
If that's really the interpretation you are gathering from my response, so be it. Your accusations of my bias color your conclusions beyond reproach; I am incapable of demonstrating my position to you without fallacy given the inferred premise. IE, my opinion is simply wrong and there's not a god damned thing I can say otherwise. So why continue discussing it with you? Good day sir.

*****
I think I also need to add Van Dam to my list. But he might qualify as a B movie actor now that I think about it.
