Microwaves originated from microwave radar, not nuclear science.
Nuclear science contributed greatly to our understanding of all kinds of radiation, not just nuclear.

Being greedy. Being greedy is practically the cause of all the problems we have. And to all those who say religion is a bad idea, we would still be fighting even if we didn't have religion.

Hostel 2... eww. Makes me shiver just thinking about it.
To be serious I would have to say democracy. In theory, greatest shit since sliced bread. In practice... makes me want to shot myself with a grenade launcher. But, hell, its better then a monarchy or a dictatorship.

nuclear power is a good thing. It probly fuels your house right now, and its a clean energy source. Weaponising it is bad.

i will have to /agree to that

Any belief or divide that directly or indirectly implies that we are all different from one another, which is unfortunately down to nature and our instincts, but it's still crappy.

Everything would be so much simpler if there was a singular global system/government, but there's no way in hell that that could ever be implemented.

ABBA

It's worse than than the atomic bomb, worse than Twilight, and it's even worse than the Carter administration.

Not when you have a hostile alien war fleet to contend with. MAC rounds are sporadically effective at best.

Hello ppl's,

So I'm watching discovery last night and it's some space program about all the neato shit you can find beyond our solar systegm. Ok, cool. They start talking about the satellite we sent out like 20 years ago called "Voyaeur" 1? maybe 2? not sure. you probably have heard of it even if you do not know the name. We put greeting messages in it in over 50 languages, we put our physiology, and something else...

That something else is what I have a problem with. We put the instructions on how to find earth in there. So now, whenever anyone finds the stupid thing, hopefully they are friendly or we are frickin toast.

Think. In EVERY sci-film, video game, whatever, the location of the homeworld is always the most closely guarded secret, and we have just sent the flipping thing out there for anyone to pick up.

I think it's the most colossally stupid thing we, as a race, have ever done.

Thoughts?
As far as stupid things go, this is by far is nowhere near any of them. Every sci-fi film, video game and everything is complete bullshit. It's a rather romantic and useless idea, yes. I'm pretty sure they wasted the resources... but in any way, it's going to take it so long to get anywhere outside our Solar System, that we might be dead as a specie by then. Or possibly in space. And I mean seriously in space. Not the old Moon crap.

There aren't really any "worst ideas" mankind had. I could really defend any idea out there, including biological and nuclear weapons, homicide and all.
I hate to be a dick, but this really irritates me for some reason. The faster one (I think it's #1) has already left the Solar System. It's not far, but it has left the edge. The slower one's around Saturn, maybe Jupiter now.

Worst idea? rubbing two sticks together and making fire. From there, it was all downhill.

There's a lot of void between here and another star system.
