I'm just not a fan of the current wave of pop-hardcore, or for that matter the more underground variety of macho hardcore. It's all very silly.
someone knows what they're talking about. that genre is SHIT!

Theres always gonna be craptacular songs every year, but foremost among the crop released THIS year, I would say...

- Lollipop by Lil Wayne
- Raising McCain by John Rich
- Womanizer by Britney Spears
- Everything from the new High School Musical film.
- Everything Soulja Boy did and all future things he will do.
second that

Also, this band has gone unrecognized long enough!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yom8nNqmxvQ

They're amazing, but they got overshadowed by soulja boy. WTF?

EDIT: warning, this is folk black metal. If you're not into that, opinions may very.
No thanks. I live in Massachusetts. I have enough bands that like to pile on the Irishness in their music here.

"All Summer Long", Kid Rock: So let me get this straight. You got it in your head to mash-up a Warren Zevon song and a Lynyrd Skynyrd song, both songs arguably one of (if not the) biggest hits of their respective careers. You then proceeded to use this amazing lack of skill to sing a song about Flint, Michigan, wherin you claim that Sweet Home Alabama is a nostalgic song...ABOUT FLINT, MICHIGAN. Also you use it to further your "lol I do lots of drugs" agenda that dominates your songs, to the point where I start to wonder if you even do drugs at all and are just trying to convince us you do. You goddamn hack. And to make matters worse you had what's left of Lynyrd Skynyrd goddamn open for you on tour. That is not how it works.

***

"Reach Out", Hilary Duff: I never thought anybody would make me hate "Personal Jesus", but damn you sure made a good effort to try and do so. In addition to acting like a whore because that's apparently all you know now, you also got some insipid rapper to do what amounts to lyrics, but he seems to have been selected just for his name (The Prophet), rather than anything important.

***

Oh and anything by the Jonas Brothers, just on principle.

I like the Ting Tings....

The Living End should stop ripping off Led Zepplin (Listen to "How do We Know" and tell me that it's not Kashmir) but other than that i dont REALLY have a problem with them.
I'd say that if they were ripping off anyone, it'd be The Stray Cats, I never really saw The Stones. But like I've said, I haven't been keeping up on them with their last couple of albums.

I'm sure Manson could find some more creative things to say. But just the idea of taking that song and completely turning it on its head in a way that I can actually enjoy is just too good an idea to resist.
I am sure it would. It could be like the cover of Sweet Dreams or Tainted Love. Those both kick ass.

Oh dear. Why did you make me aware of this trash? I need to go kill Duff for raping Depeche Mode right now. Anger rising.....hate bubbling.....must not murder, will go to prison......

Pretty much everything outside of the genres of drum n bass, breakcore, underground hip hop/uk hip hop/grime, non mainstream dance, dubstep and a few other ridiculous microgenres has just been a massive gitstorm. Both rock and hip hop are in the worst state they've been in for a long time, there are a few tracks that stand out as being particularly awful this year though:

Scooter Ft Status Quo - Jump That Rock
The particular points that I hate, well firstly there's Scooter, then there's Status Quo. It's the lack of Scooters usual lyrical genius such as "hardcore/hardcore/got the power take a shower/hardcore/hardcore" that gets this a place on my list.

Blackout Crew - Put A Donk On It
Nothing good ever came out of putting a donk on anything, I seriously hate everything about this track apart from the bit where he goes "that's well sick mate, I could definitely drop to that", so hilariously bad that it acctualy puts a smile on my face whenever I hear it.

Nickelback - Rockstar
It is without doubt the worst thing in the history of the world.

kid Rock - Look At Me I'm From Michigan And I Do Lots Of Drugs And I Steal Bits Of Other Peoples Songs And I'm Great
See AceDiamond's post.

Marylin Manson doing a cover of I Kissed A Girl would be brilliant.

Okay, what the hell is a "Donk"?
I second that, what is a "Donk"? Is this a British term?
Yup, it's a British invention for ruining popular music.

It's sort of a bouncy drum beat thing, I can't really describe it very well so you're best off just watching this...

You may find it hilarious, as any sane person would but bear in mind these guys are serious.

After that 'Wonder Wall' song, I hate Oasis beyond all rational thought. Oh and the lead singer asshat comparing himself to John Lennon was a joke. I do not like the Beetles, but the lead singer of Oasis could not polish the spit off of John Lennon's shoes.
... Skinny Puppy... You seriously like them... and you don't like Oasis OR the Beetles...?
You bet your ass I do. Skinny Puppy are some of the true original electronic innovators of our time.
axia I believe you mean Wonderwall
and you are both mispelling the Beatles

Liam Gallagher doesn't compare himself to Lennon other people do
Some fun facts
Paul Mcartney is a very big Oasis fan and good friend of Noel Gallagher
As was George Harrison in his last years
Yoko Ono asked Liam if he wanted to use a Lennon audio sample in DOYS, he refused, but she kept at it, stating to a reporter "He's similar to John, I think they have the same sort of souls"
Ringo Starr's son Zak Starkey asked to join the band several times and got in only to be kicked out for being too whiney.

Insert current top 100, for the last 60 years.
Maybe all of the escapist hates mainstream, but I don't care, I think most music is shit!
Indeed, especially Nickelback's 'Rockstar' and anything by Madonna.
What's your beef with Rockstar? I admit it's not the best but it's good for singing loud -and off key- at festivals and with friends.
That is, if you don't get all the censors in there.

She raped Depeche Mode? That's punishable by death by electric chair covered in fire ants.
I'm not from that age (born a bit later) but their music is awesome and just fantastic to dance on in a club and whoever screws with that doesn't deserve to have a mouth and ears anymore.

Anything Dance or Drum & Bass that isn't Eric Prydz or Pendulum. Only they can do them.
Are you serious? Never heard anything from Noisia?
Oh and you should check out newgrounds audio portal, there's a lot of talent in between the heaps of mediocre stuff.

And to add my own, I can't hear Coldplay's new song anymore. It was ok at first, but it sounds way too whiny if you hear it that often. To top it off, he's sounding whiny while telling us he once ruled the world. I call shenanigans.

Oh and strangely enough, how utterly retarded the lyrics may be, Pink's So What always gets stuck in my head and I don't really mind that much. This coming from an Electro/Industrial/Drum & Bass fan.

Rockstar, Anything by Miley Cyrus, Anything by Jonas Brothers...
And then there's Katy Perry. I f'ing hate Katy Perry. Such BS. Sickening voice.
EDIT: Oh, and All Summer Long by Kid Rock.
HE. USED. THE. PIANO. LINE.
Just the piano. He took the sweet piano melody of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and used it for his crap music. I repeat, ONLY the piano. None of the guitar, none of that, just the piano. As background.

These rap songs that use lines from GOOD music and horibly mangle them. I recall a song that used the chorus from Breakfast in America, as well as the guitar line. It was depressing.
