The endless threads filled with jackasses doing their utmost best to ruin entertainment that they don't particularly care for, but others might enjoy have burned me out. The sexism threads. The anti-realism threads.
LOL

Sorry if our criticism is "ruining" your entertainment, just having a conversation here, thanks for joining. If only there was some way you could ignore the discussion, maybe if you didn't bump the thread it would fall back down the board and you could go back to sticking your fingers in you ears?

I am not sure who the Xbox One is for it seems to be aimed at people who really dont mind paying to get fucked over and spied on as long as they have TV, Sports and COD in one package.

There is literally zero reason to be excited about the Xbox One over the competition at best its a so what I will get it despite its flaws.

It is definitely not for core gamers its seems to be gearing up to be the very worst system to play games on to be honest.
wtf are you talking about spied on? You do realize that the thing you're suggesting is illegal right?
what purpose would spying on a bunch of people sitting on their couch pressing buttons serve?
You are seriously paranoid friend.
Ok maybe spied was the wrong word although its still possible and illegal or not it is still done. I am sure they would call it enhanced data gathering or some such bullshit basically the next step up from achievements. I doubt they would be sitting there watching us play but if it picks up words, measures heartbeats and can recognise facial expressions it can feed this info back to others.

I dont think they would be interested in me personally but I still dont want a camera pointed at me 100% of the time just because the damn machines on. People like their privacy and this is a huge violation of that.

If it could be turned off then it would not be a problem.

There comes a time when you have to make a stand for what you will except and what you will not. The Xbox One has crossed that line for me others may put up with it but I cant see anyone being happy about it.

As to that last article, Microsoft really has lost it in recent years. Their attitude towards customers is mind boggling. Its like they think people have no choice but to use their products. It isn't the the 1990's anymore. Most of us young adults have grown up on computers and we know how get what we want. I was reading about their plans for windows 8 and they basically want to force to their users to "get used to" the new interface rather than bring back the desktop. Its insane. Regardless of how usable the Metro Interface is, Microsoft's job as a company is to make things people should WANT to buy

I'm perfectly fine with you stereotyping Call of Duty players. There are a lot better shooters out there. Actual gamers know that and those are the games that they'd rather play. Even the developers know that. Like Ken Levine. That's why we had that Bioshock: Infinite cover "controversy". There is truth in stereotypes sometimes.
If stereotypes were completely untrue they wouldn't exist.

I'm black, and I do indeed love chicken. Why? Because chicken is fucking awesome, that's why - fried, baked, barbecued, teriyaki, slow-roasted, rotisserie, any and everything in between.

In line with the topic itself, while I think the assertions by the OP are a bit heavy-handed, I don't have much of an argument. I think the indie games section absolutely sucks, and while I have no qualms about CoD as a franchise, I do hate what it's done to the industry. Sure, these things go in cycles - everyone wanted to make a platformer (from Mario came Sonic and Crash Bandicoot), everyone wanted to make a fighting game (from SF came the slew of SNK titles, MK, and Killer Instinct), everyone wanted to make a extreme sports title, you get the point - and eventually it'll cycle through just like everything else before it. It's just taking unusually long for it to do so.

Hmm... I seem to have forgotten where I was going with this, so I'll stop here.

1. The Xbone won't be able to connect to SDTVs out-of-the-box, and possibly at all.
Source? Because this is the first I'm hearing of this, and people said the same about the 360.

Of course it isn't meant for Core gamers.
Because it isn't meant for anyone at all.
No one wants this thing nor should want it.

It's because they're trying to be Apple and failing at it. They've mistaken Apple's "We made this thing you didn't even know you wanted" for "You will like what we tell you to like".

People need to shut up about this one, or at least watch the video instead o going off the headline. The XBone will have exactly the same support for indie games that the 360 has.
No it won't, they're dropping the Xbox Live Indie Games channel, as well as the Xbox Live Arcade. They've explicitly said that indie developers will need to strike a publishing deal with Microsoft or a third party publisher if they want their games on the Xbox One. Keep up.
That is no hard to do at all. If your an indie developer, you should be part of the Microsoft developer network, which gives you a ton of tools, especially for coding, and easy contact with Microsoft.
