Let's send him a bottle of booze too. That way Yahtzee can get drunk when he realizes what a bunch of dweebs his fans are. Oh, too late. Well, he seems like a guy who'd appreciate it all the same.

PS: Report the troll, people.

Thanks Botched Necromancy, I was already feeling a little nauseous about all the fandom, then you have to stick that on the thread.

It'll also make my comment about how this could be a scam for free games seem that bit less shocking.

That's why it doesn't have to be me sending the games. Who's a good third party to do this through?

Me =).

Seriously? No idea who could be trusted on the site that would be willing to go to such trouble for Yahtzee, and it may be a bit of a stretch (although imo, the whole idea is crazy) to find someone trustworthy outside of the site willing to organise it.

I know I'm trustable, but no one can be sure of that but me. Could we get one of the people who're on-site celebs? Maybe the guys who do Unskippable? I mean, really all they'd have to do is put all the games in the box, and mail the box.

No offense, but why would you spend money/time/effort on getting a gift for someone who neither knows nor cares who you are?

It's not just me, it's all of us. It's our way of thanking him in a way more tangible than just emails or views.

Well if you're serious about this and your intentions are pure then you should take note of region codes if you're not already aware (i.e. games bought in one part of the world won't work in other parts, like DVDs). I also thoroughly encourage sending him Branston Pickle and E.T. for Atari.

Are there region codes for games from America to Australia?

The US uses NTSC and Australia uses some form of PAL if I'm not mistaken.

Ooh, this could be a problem. The only solution I can think of would be to also send him systems, but that would be too bulky, and go against the very premise.

Suggestions, anyone?

Um... buy PAL copies of the games? I'm sure there are many people who have access to PAL games, like myself as I'm from UK.

This could work.

So, if you're donating a game, please try to make sure it's PAL, and not NTSC U/C.

How do we know he has old school consoles like NES or N64?

Also we know where he lives? I need to prepare my stalker kit then.

We could have someone ask? I'm not really sure, but we'll probably think of something.

How about an old Rainbow Six game, you know back in the day when they were still cool!

Or Company of Heroes :)

Yet more reason for Yahtzee to be chagrined about the behavior of his fans [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.124885].

He'd probably stick the gift in an obscure corner of the room and eye it with a combination of fascination and dread normally suited to some kind of forbidden Cthuluean idol, terrified by what it represents and yet too mystified by its very existence to discard it.

But perhaps I'm just being a part of the problem to assume I have any idea how he'd receive it.

That said, you should probably make it a gag gift, at best. Probably something you wouldn't be too offended to see chucked into a fire without a word. Any thought spared to, "I know what he really wants" would likely be interpreted as more baffling fan behavior.
