Let's see, I live a fair ways from the nearest city, and that one's not even a big city at all (sadly enough). We have one room that is completely defenceless, because of the presence of several double-door-sized windows, though we could barricade the doors (which open into the room, so if the zombies can't pull, it's even easier to barricade). If we cut down the corn field across the street we'd have full visibility in every direction around our house, which is good. Weapons are limited to kitchen knives, shovels and an electric chainsaw. I do have a bow but no (more) arrows, but the accuracy required to hit zombies in the brain with that is just ridiculous.

As for supplies: We have what's according to Google translate is called a "kitchen garden" in English and some chickens (plus two large gardens that are not currently doing anything useful except looking pretty). So we'd have eggs and vegetables. There's also an apple orchard just down the road. Getting meat would be a problem though. There's a small stream nearby as well, though we'd have to purify the water first, we wouldn't die of dehydration. Our neighbour (a nice chap) has sheep, bees (hmm, honey) and grows his own cherries. Wool from the sheep means we can stay warm in the winter, even if our clothes get damaged from all the working and occasional fighting. To keep warm we could also use the fireplace, but the smoke might alert looters to our location, so that might not be the best idea.
We also have solar panels on our roof, though they are not directly connected to the house, the power currently goes into the general electricity net first, but they can be rerouted. As I don't expect power to be gone completely in the first 24 hours that leaves enough time to contact an electrician I know to do so (or look up on the internet how to do that, if nobody is able to come over).

We have three cars, so anything we're lacking we should be able to loot, provided we have a decent sized group. I'd also let some friends know we've got food, water and shelter, and that they're welcome to join, after all, the bigger the group is, the less likely you are to be bothered by looters/gangs.

Also: firearms should be avoided if possible. The noise would only attract more trouble.

I live in the 17th floor of an apartment, and if Cracked.com's got it right, I should stay put for several days and just wait till it blows over. Weather, military and anti-zombie vigilantes will take care of it.
My apartment is on the 5th floor and there are 3 electronic locks requiring a key card then 2 old fashioned locks using my apartment key so I think I'll do the same. Just stay home for a few days, watch some movies, wait for the zombies to die because they decompose, attract animals, can't regenerate their wounds and all that. Zombie apocalypses got a lot less frightening once you apply science to it.

I have had a plan for this for years, but I won't write it down for you all since I won't take the risk of anyone of you going for my hideout, or anyone of you becomes a zombie with some sort of memory recollecting my post.

I'm sorry, what I can tell you is that it is a cliffy island tough, not many people know about it.

There's a gardening supply store about 5 minutes drive from my house. To get there, I take some of the scrap metal my dad has stored in his workshop and bolt it to the front of our van to form a makeshift plow as well as for rudimentary armour. The store is full of sharp tools, dried vegetable seeds and is surrounded by two heavy spiked fences, with a third inner fence surrounding the building itself. Within walking distance of this store is a 'bulk supplier' where one can buy foods by the pallet-load, so that place will be raided and the supplies brought back to the gardening store. Oh, and I'll have also stolen the neighbours' chickens from their yard for eggs and occasional meat. With a bit of luck, I can stay there until the problem blows over.

Also, I'm in Australia so guns will be harder to find than uninfected.

I'll come as well. Better make some room for me.

For me on the other hand, well I live in Perth Australia. Which is opposite to most of the Australian cities. If I cannot get a plane or way of traveling to Sydney and Fort Denison i would have to...

- Meet my best friend.
- Get weapons. (From a army surplus shop in the city)
- Get other supplies.
- Rush to a harbor or dock with some kind of boat.
- Go to Rottnest island.

Since their is a small population there and military tunnels, I think it would be safe.

While going to the sea sound like the best bet since I lived in a coastal town (unless zombies can still swim) but that's just a deathtrap if it isn't stock up on food supplies or when it's run out.
I suppose my aim would try to get out of the town asap since it kind of a death trap since there are the exist points to get out of it, well one will only lead to another trap (I located near the edge of the county by the sea).

Initially, I'd stay put. During the initial stages of an outbreak your biggest threat will be worried survivors and looters. Best thing to do is to bunker down and not draw attention to yourself. Wait for a couple of weeks to a month before making your move.

At least, that's my immediate plan of action.

Grab my guns and supplies, friends, girlfriend, and our immediate families that aren't dead, then get a cruise ship. Zombies don't swim and we can store a ton of supplies and land as needed for more (probably at military bases)

Edit (because I had to respond to this):

I live in Northern Ireland, thanks to the Troubles our local police station has 10 foot thick reinforced concrete blast walls surrounding it and 20 foot high military fencing, with a CCTV system and watchtowers overlooking the gate.

Random Northern Irish police station as a reference:
I'll just go to the local shop first and buy all the canned food and bottled water and liquids there is, and then go to the police station, and barter my way in with the supplies. There's a medical centre opposite the police station, so we won't be short of medical supplies, and even armoured riot vehicles and riot equipment if we do get into bother.
Police vehicles for reference:

Assuming the rest of the towns inhabitants have been zombified we could hold out as long as our supplies last, and it wouldn't be too hard to capture some livestock nearby and bring them inside the walls.

If we are going to be there a while we could even get some building supplies from the quarries and builders yards and secure some extra farmland for the livestock. There's a river 100 metres away for fresh water, and we could even fish it for salmon and trout.
Also ammo and guns shouldn't be a problem, everyone's got some sort of shotgun and plenty of ammo, and there are half a dozen gun clubs and outdoor shops that sell weapons. We'll be swimming in shotguns.

Do you have enough supplies to last several weeks? Do you have the necessary equipment to board up and barricade your place (if that's your intent)?

Looking around my place right now, I don't really have any good weapons. I surprisingly don't have any large blunt weapons (unless you count my swinging cod, hur hur hur), the best I could probably do is my chef's knife. I'd definitely have to venture out and see what I could get to better defend and sustain myself, if I wanted to wait it out for a while.

Get all the brovengers I can gather. This has got to be the work of the injustice league. Or get a baseball bat and smash a few heads. Whichever is easier.

Im in a large apartment building. Barricade the entrance, and go back up to the tenth floor. Or top floor.
Weather, vermin, vigilantes, and workers(police) will take care of it. A real zombie apocalypse wouldn't last very long.

Is it odd that I've already planned this?
Head to the shop, loot the non-perishables, head to the church, lock it up, having brought my two swords, and axes, and hide up in the churchtower until it all blows over.
May nip down to the pub every now and again if everythings quiet for a bit.

Well I live on the outskirts of a town that has a gun store (don't know why since this is England but all the same, it's there), anyway my plan is get my friends to meet me there and we'll preceed to enter this abandoned building me and a friend know how to get on the roof of, protected by gates and walls the zombies will have a hard time getting in also a ladder to get onto the roof proper. Right next to a tesco and the aforementioned gun store, bring camping supplies and camp up there till it all blows over, perfect plan...Minus the fact it's in the centre of town. But I doubt there would be many zombies if we acted quick.
