wow yust wow for me pokemon is dead i dont give a danm about black and white anymore.
i think that they got a new team to design pokemon and that team looked at every pokemon ever made picked out the ones they wanted to remake and then sat down and writh everything that came to there mind.then they all grabed one of there ideas promised that they wont stop designing the pokemon until it looks like my world of warcraft charater when hes wearing armor from fallout 3 oblivion mass effect and world of warcraft at the same time.i mean half of the pokemon they already did(frog cat dog musroom crab)and the rest looks like they got high and drunk at the same time and this comes from sombody who liked diamond and pearls pokemon.they are a clusterfuck of colors some of them look like when i paint cloth so out of ideas i yust make lines and weird symbols some of the evolutions are weird some pokemon look so weird i have no clue what they are and im afraid they cant think of any pokedex info because they while have no clue what the hell they made.sooooo farewell pokemon it was nich knowing you.....unless you make a big 3d pokemon game then you can have my money.

Overall, about 30% IMO are pretty goddamn stupid looking, so far, the new rock type and the grass/water type starters are the cool ones

Do you really belive they'll EVER stop this? It's gonna go on forever 'cuz people love the games even if the pokemon don't look like real creatures anymore.

My personal opinion now is that they shoudl remake Red/Blue for a consol, give the games decent graphics and change in-game stuff like gameplay mechanics instead of just setting you out on the same journey just with new faces, place names and freaky-looking creatures.

I was thinking this a while a go. A 3rd-person Pokemon game. You get to start in what ever region you please and can either go through a personality test to get different starter Pokemon (Aipom, Magby, Elekid etc) or you can just take the regional starters. Same maps as the game boy games, maybe including Airports and expanding the towns and cities. Also the Pokemon levels in the wild and with trainers, follow the level of your current party Pokemon.

I think it could work, but Nintendo own it, and i can't see that happening.

My thoughts exactly, but it's not like they wouldn't have the time or money if they just stopped paying people to sit down and draw whatever creature they see in the form of a cloud and actually start working on something like your idea... or my idea (People has yet to recognize my genious)

The designs are getting weirder and weirder.. At least they still look cute or tough.
I really hate the new starters, though. I hate the fact that they leave two of them mono-typed, because it always leaves them with such a shallow move pool, and it isn't likely to change. and the fire pig is only cute in his first evolution state, the others are terribly ugly.

But! with so many new dragons - I'm pleased ^^

Actually Diamond and Pearls were good. These ones are just way do designed wierdly, the ones with the Karate Gi take the cake.

Acctualy, Serebii doesn't know all the types, if going by other Pokemon games, they will get other types.

This gen is like all gens before, including gen 1: Hit and miss. Yes, even gen 1 had some that were stupid when you stop to think about it (Magneton, Dugtrio.)

There is only one real gripe I have, and that is the fire/fighting starter. Enough, already! Blaziken was good, Infernape was awesome, but let it be! Try a different combo. I admit, this one is the most varied in terms of quality IMO. Most had either "most of them good" or "most of them bad" ones. This gen has ones that range from "Absolute Awesome" to "Complete Shit".

imo, magneton was a clever compound, considering magnets "attract eachother" and such. and dugtrio is hilarious when you think abouts whats under the earth:

Some cool ones (I particularly like the crocodile and the lightning zebra), but for the most part they're either weird, silly, or both. And I'm just not seeing the connection between the ugly otter starter and its bad-ass looking final evolution.

And what do you mean "look like pokemon"? Last I checked, pokemon designs varied far too widely to fall under any one idea of what a pokemon "should" look like.

I just thought too many of them looked too humanoid. They looked like characters rather than wild animals, i just couldn't imagine going out and catching one. It'd almost be like going out and catching a trainer in a pokeball or something xD

BUT! I just read that the area it's set in is a lot more industrialized and densely popularted than other areas and is meant to be miles away from the other regions.
That sort of justifies it for me, i'd imagine pokemon evolving to be more human-like to survive in a densely populated area
