if everyone played by those rules the game might actually be fun.
I agree. I like MW2 but in past FPSs I have really changed settings to things like no grenades and no armour. I always liked to win or lose by my skill at shooting not by someone hoarding armour or chucking a sticky grenade at me as they were dying.

To each their own, I suppose.

true pro's will not follow rules, but play fairly, they will not camp around waiting, they will run out taking cover wherever they can find it, they will learn to throw grenades back as soon as they land.

but most importantly they will play for fun, and not ruin the game for anyone else. Pro's of MW2 are few, but true pro's will not follow these rules =) simple, i sure as hell wont, if you don mind i like my AC130 and Predator Missile

ooo yeh plus, there is no pro at MW2, it just depends if your good with a select gun, some suite other people better than others, and if you meet a guy half way across the map with a subby with a silencer, the assault rifle will win, and so on, the only Pro's are maybe say the snipers

Meh, I really stopped playing mw2 because its frustrating and really boring. Plus the one who made this is probably always killed by these things. He use's his respect of his "clan buddies" to spread the word to make look like he is all good. Plus he is probably a console scrub, pro gaming was reserved for the pc and the pc alone. Rant done.
I don't get killed by any of those things and I play on the PC.

So?
Im talking about them, when they "back out" from there game when its "full of noobs" and they can't get a single kill because people are using "valid" tactics

Just goes to show:

ANYONE who plays Modern Warfare 2 professionally would last four seconds in real modern warfare.

He said nothing of the sort when it came to playing outside of tournaments. His favorite classes use perks and weapons that are otherwise not allowed, for example.

The rules I would play by

-No Grenade launchers

-No Akimbo Shotguns

-No Knife builds

But I still get plenty of kills on the guys who use those things so doesn't matter much. Sure it is frustrating sometimes but it is just a game.

Why is there hate on the riot shield? I've never seen anyone do well with it.

The knife builds are a hell of a lot more annoying than that.

well, your post implies otherwise, and not everyone can be bothered to check the source for relatively trivial things like this, and assume that your OP, when containing information, contains enough to reply to, and/or is clear about such things, especially regarding the hot topic of MW2
If people can't bothered to read a couple lines of text, then I'm not sure why they'd be bothered to post all angrily and offended on the internet. Right?
BECAUSE ITS THE FREAKING INTERNET,
well, there is a fine line between not enough information, and information that is misleading.
clicking on the link shows talking about some x360 tourney, still didn't see rules you post.
and your line

implies that people do think they can play it on the PC 'competitively' or 'professionally' can't argue with that.

but then, i thoroughly believe that barring MASSIVE imbalance, any of these rules are for scrubs, examples here include NO C4!??! and no SHOTGUNS!??!
i mean, no akimbo 1887's is slightly excusable, but COME ON.

EDIT: lots of win above my post

Posted on Reddit [http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/amxjm/im_going_to_the_international_gamestop_10k_finals/c0iebyo?context=1] by someone who plays MW2 professionally:

Perks:
No Bling
No One Man Army

Equipment:
No grenade launchers
No claymores
No C4
No secondary launchers
No blast shields
No tactical insertions
No riot shields
No secondary shotguns

Rules:
No killstreaks
Deathstreaks must be set to copycat in most PC leagues

What do you guys think? Are these rules you happen to play by as well? Would you mind playing by/want to play with them? I follow everything except for tactical insertion. And I use a Stinger in one class, but that's not really an issue if there are no killstreaks.

Personally, I would love to be able to play like that, even without the killstreaks and tactical insertions. Shame it's not possible on MW2 :(
The fuck, they pretty much outlawed a lot of common stuff from the game. The SPAS-12 is excellent and what about the ability or need to have a launcher on hand to take out air support.

5OOTH POST!!!!! I FEEL SO SPECAIL

Died the second online multiplayer was invented. Now everythings super serious business.

My rule of thumb is that if you have to apply a whole bunch of special rules to a game to be good, you probably suck pretty hard.

I know it's the stereotype that gamers hate sports, but does the stereotype also extend to the idea that gamers don't understand sports?
