But we (the nasty Brits) did used to own one of the largest empires in history.

On the other hand, the thing that makes me most proud is the fact that my country is stable and prosperous for me to remain happy almost all the time, without having to worry about anything except school work and romance

Yeah, Berlin isn't bad, but should you ever return to Germany, I advise you to take some time to explore parts of the countryside, too, large parts of it are really beautiful. Places like the Westerwald, or the islands of Rügen and Sylt come to mind. ^^

Germany's a good country. Good cars, good beer (Germany, Belgium and the Czech Republic make the best beers in the world), some good music (and some... questionable music, but hey, we gave the world the Spice Girls and Peter Andre, so I can't exactly throw any stones here), and you've got to give them a bit of respect for having the balls to go for the world title twice in the same century.

The world does not necessarily need to be united under force of arms.

Pfff...you lost a war versus colonist! At least we holded Macau for 500 years. Ah! We leeched everything that place had to give...and left that place to turn into one Giant Casino.

We've still technically got the Commonwealth (suck it Australia), and we mainly lost America because it cost too much to keep the crazies we sent over there happy, and the French stopped us sending any troops across to sort them out properly.

Well, let's see. There's a healthcare system, which saved mine and my families arses more than once. I'm proud of her people, for the most part. We must be doing something right if the world welcomes us when we travel abroad. I love our self-deprecating sense of humour.
