Well, with Heart Gold/Soul Silver coming out in a few days, I felt it was time to get all nostalgic about the freaky weird things in the Pokemon games of old. (Or Pokemon episodes of old, whatever works)

I for one always had issues with Nurse Joy, someone you only went to see when your Pokemon were hurt/unconscious, saying "We hope to see you again!"

Sadistic pink-haired witch.

Animal slavery

NAH!

The one thing that always bothered me was the fact that noone really gave a shit if a 10 year old was roaming the world with 6 weapons of mass destruction clipped to his belt at all times

The fact that Pokemon is just about getting cute animals to beat the shit out of each other always bothered me, and it still does.

I was never a big fan of Pokemon. The first season of the show was decent at best, the game was fun, and I did play through the entire thing, but that's about it for me. Beyond that Pokemon has been the same old for me.

Ah this thread is on a different tangent to what I was thinking of... but meh.

I cannot stand the sound that the gameboy makes when you randomly encounter a wild pokemon. It is unbearable after hearing it over 10000 times.

The damn stripey colors whenever they went for an attack. Whats up with the Japs when they make these games.. they on drugs and see stripey colors too? =) Nah I love the Japanese. But seriously though... why?

That and pretty much the whole game. I never got it.

I have absolutley no problems with the games whatsoever, especially the first four (excluding yellow.)

The tv show however, how is it that walking through the woods ash's like "Oh look a wild Pinser/Dodrio/Beedrill over there..." And they carry on walking? Whats the matter ash? Only like emotionally damaged pokemon with a back story? The wild normal pokemon not good enough for you? You make me sick...

Lets see the games I don't have much of a problem with the games, they are pretty well thought out and actually have a lot more potential then they are currently being used for. Now the TV series I have a major problem with, and that problem can be summed into two words 'Team Rocket'. In ways they are criminal geniuses but seem to be obsessed with capturing a run of the mill electric rat, when if they just stopped following them and try their plan without being around the main characters aren't around. Either that or someone should put a damned bullet in their heads just to stop them from saying that damned introduction every time you see them.

All these are related to the games, I have no problem with the series.

1) No-one except people who live in your town, or the "bad guys", or anyone else plot-related, knows your name. I mean, you walk into a Pokemon Center and the nurse always says the exact same thing, in every freakin' town! You'd think she'd get bored of repeating it over and over.

2) No-one else except your Rival (and Wally in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, but I digress) is actually taking the Gym challenges. In fact, no-one except plot-related people actually does anything! They just stand around waiting for you to get up in their face and press A. Pokemon could learn a thing or two from Bethesda.

3) Whenever you're challenged to a Pokemon battle, the opponent always stands in an adjacent "tile" to you, leaving no room for Pokemon to face off. They need space.

I think that's my rant for the night. XD

In Pokemon snap for the N64, I was always a little freaked out by professor oak.

Before each level, he said 'Press A to do it!' whilst doing something shifty with his hands in his pockets.

....that's how I remember it anyway!

No real problems with the games. Though it be nice to see trainers from the start level up their Pokemon as time passes and go to the gym challenges as well... Instead of just you and your rival. I also find it funny how serious some of the trainers comments are. Though that's no problem. The show... Meh it was good to begin with but it's rather annoying that Ash doesn't go out and catch some more damn pokemon seriously. It's like HOLY CRAP ITS A SCYTHER and then just goes right along...

That always ticked me off. Like I go through the elite four and get to the last Pokemon of the last fight and the other guy lucks out and survives an attack that would have won it for me and then beats me... Black Out... Wake Up... We hope to see you again... I hope you burn in hell *****.

In the original Pokemon blue and red you could fish in the statues at the entrance of Misty's Gym... you never caught anything which was disappointing, but hey what the hell it had 30 seconds of novelty value every time you were there.

The lack of the "Missingno" bug in yellow and following games.
The lack of Mew near that ship.
Being unable to open your own gym.
Being unable to join Team Rocket.

The main thing that really annoys me about the pokemon games is that Ruby and Sapphire was not compatible with pokemon Gold and silver, and that I can't trade pokemon between my DS and the Wii games the way the GBA ones allowed you to do with the game cube.

Pokemon that you have to stalk all over the map in order to capture. It was cute with the legendary dogs but got really annoying really fast. On a similar note, pokemon only obtainable through trading with a special item attached to a lesser form,
or requiring you to talk to people underground or only through some special event that will probably never come to Australia, especially when the game requires you to catch them all to get a particular reward.

so yeah...A lot of things bother me about the pokemon games, I still king of like them though.
