A Chase sequence that allows the vehicle you chase to quantum leap away oh and scripted chases too, much appreciated GTA IV.

Gotta agree with the thing about voice actors, I really don't care who voices any character other than for trivia, the exception to this is John DiMaggio, just because. Though games that get 'Big' people to voice act come accross as cheap anyway in many cases.

More upgrades than aquirable points, DA:O and Bioshock come to mind, I do not want to play a game where I have to spend hours agonizing how I'm going to build my character from the first level up, this is especially annoying when level limits are also unclear, again DA:O

On a similar note the inability to build omnipotnent teams makes me cry at night, if a game gives me a mage and warrior and a rogue, DO NOT only give two character slots.

Games based on movies. Sorry, but I honestly don't know a single one that was good.
Spiderman 2 was okay.

OT:Make the most interesting character take a back seat to the main character if they even show up after the first few levels *CoughUncharted1/2cough*
*Headdesk* Ok, one good game. Sorry, had a little memory issue there...
Oh, and don't forget to mention Goldeneye 007, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King games.

OT: Soul-crushing DRM and console exclusives when there is no hardware issue stopping them from going cross-platform or it is something such as an RTS.

The game having you go through all the levels again but only in a backwards order(I am looking at you Devil May Cry 4).

Add a terrible whiny character to the cast to supplant a loved badass character in a series (I am looking at you Metal Gear Solid, you too DMC4).

I know what you've been playing lately. ;) And yes that ending was awesome.
I don't know what game you are talking about. I made up that list on my own. I am serious.

Oh... well... ahem. Anyway, there is a game out recently that pretty much ends how you describe: Main character dies, it makes sense, goes out in a blaze of glory, story gets resolved afterwards.

Really nice ending, but I can't tell you now because you'll know the ending. Crap.

surprise buttsecks quick time events that result in death.

AI enemies that always know where the hell you are.
AI enemies that wait on the entrance of another zone, if you're going to chase after me into the metro station fine, but all of them waiting on the outside already firing while the game is still loading f u (Fo3)

I'm tired of Multiplayer being a selling point. To me, it's a bonus feature. If Video Games were DVD's, Multiplayer would be as important to me as Interactive Menus, whereas a good story is as beneficial as a great Audio Commentary.

I'd like to know what is actually considered good or evil, okay Metro 2033 I know I shouldn't have gone near that Bong but c'mon, I wanted to see what would happen.
IW kinda ran out of ideas after MW1, The nuke scene was awesome but seriously why the fuck did shepard shoot me and burn me alive?(Finally a game where the US gets invaded, a brave move)
And why is it that in almost every FPS based in these time that Russia is always the bad guy? China seems like a more likely enemy, or America that would be a nice change.

Random chances:
"Okay, me and my enemy are both one hit away from death. Here goes nothing
*swings at enemy who is standing still, but the word "MISS!" appears above the enemy's head*
"What the f...."
*gets hit while recovering from the "MISSED" attack*

Random item drops:
"Okay, so the Super Awesome Sword of Kickass, which I need to stand a chance against Lord Badguy on OMGWTFPWNED difficulty can only be dropped by red skeleton zombie ghosts... and there's a 0.25423% chance for them to drop it when they die."

Two things:
1.Games should not compromise a great single player for a popular multiplayer (I'm looking at you MW2)
2. Games should not sell their DLC. I know the decision is usually the game platform's, but there are a few exceptions (again, looking straight at MW2 on this one).

Making controls for something that won't ever be used except for one point in the game.
I'm looking at you Assassins Creed 2.
I assume you're talking about the flying machine. In the Battle of Forli DLC they let you fly Leo's flying machine as much as you want.

OT: Escort missions. Freaking. Escort. Missions.

RE4 was especially guilty of this. Most of the game was an escort mission. If they had gotten rid of Ashley, or at least let her use a friggin' GUN, I would have liked that game a lot more.

EDIT:\\ Oh, and random encounters. I haven't seen any games lately that do that, but I still hate them. Especially in FFVIII. Trying to get somewhere and you get an encounter with each step. Trying to level and you run in circles for HALF AN HOUR trying to get a random encounter. >_<

And finally, I know I'm ninja'd on this, subscription fees. I know it's generally required to run a game. But if I just payed $60 for a game, I'm not too happy if I have to pay a third of that for each month I decide to play.

Oh wow, talk about a predicament. But yes, that was an awesome ending.
