Games where your about to face the final threat, your just at the last town/camp/armory and you want to get weapons to save the world/nation. And that guy is over there selling stuff at outrageous prices.

"Hey, I'm going to go save the world."
"Cool, wish you luck! You want that special something to help you in your fight against evil?"
"Sure, thanks!"
"That'll be 1,000,000 gold."
"The !@#@!? I've been bludgeoned, stabbed, rained on, had idiots laughing at me, had to deal with a sappy romance subplot, and now I'm going to try to face death to save the world, and you're pulling this crap on me!?"
"Sorry, gotta eat."

I mean, I guess I could understand why they wouldn't just give you the ultra-powerful sword of death, but you'd think they could part with a few medpacks.

And that reminds me, where the hell do they get their items, and who do they sell them to? Who needs the Masamune unless they're fighting dragons or pure evil? How do these people make a living when they only have one customer that shows up once in their lifetime? Maybe that explains the outrageous prices. Maybe they had to take a loan from some shifty characters, and now need that one payment to make it all better...

This adds another question to my list: How in hell can someone detach a mounted weapon as easily as done in games?

My knowledge in mounted weapons is limited, so if it's possible to do so with as much ease in real life as it is in games, correct me.
Im pretty sure in games that mounted weapons can be detached, the player is wearing the badass power-armor, or is inhumanly strong.

But you previous posts brought up another question, specifically the M-16. How can a single soldier know how to use every fucking gun he comes across? Each and every gun made has some property or qwerk that makes it unique to another. Yet a soldier can pick one up, even weapons that are still experimental and he or... (yeah, right, like there are female soldier in real life [sub]/sarcasm[/sub])... hasn't even heard of, and use it effectively?

The ending to Dead Rising 2 defies even what I like to call "video game logic".

Sullivan gets to call in a gunship. He's part of a pharmaceutical company from what I can make out. ...How the fuck did he get that?!

I may be missing something there as I saw the ending about 3 months ago, but that's what I can hazily recall.
If I recall, Umbrella was a pharmaceutical company.
Umbrella is RE, different universes.

He (Sullivan) was part of the multi-millionaire organization that started two outbreaks. The organization makes the cure for not turning into a zombie, so they're clearly gonna have:

A) Too much money

B) A plan to get more.

Sullivan even says that they start some outbreaks so people get scared and stock up.

That's fairly obvious. I was making a connection between company types and their budgets, not tying the universes together.

Red Dead Redemption:

Did Rockstar honestly think that we wanted to (in the end) play as Jack instead of John? We played the whole damned game as him! Don't get rid of one of your best characters!

If Scorpion is a demon ninja with control over fire, why does fire still damage him?
If it's an alien apocalypse, why are the strippers in Duke Nukem still strip dancing?
How do you stomp someone's leg off?
How exactly is one supposed to punch down a tree?
Why is Ryu's headband getting redder in every single game?
How does one fix broken legs by sleeping?
How does someone rip someone else's spine out along with their head? Why does the spine detatch?
If Kung Lao is just a Shaolin Monk with a cool hat, then why can he teleport?
Babalities.

How does Kung Lao get a hat??
Why do people REALLY have to wait to get attack BEFORE they attack??
Why the fuck can't the enemies see my shadow in Crysis 2 (I'm cloaked)..
Why do people fly when they get punched continuously?? (Tekken)
Valkyria Chronicles
Phantasy Star Portable 2
Ancient evil appearing out of nowhere for no reason...

How (in FF7) a scrawny kid can hold a sword that's at least as big as him, and possibly really heavy...

And swing it around like it's nothing. He even spins it...

How the fuck does he even stand up without falling over?

Flashlights in nearly every game. Are the batteries really that terrible that they drain in 30 seconds, and can magically recharge afterwards by simply collecting the bullshit from the air? Or is everyone just using those godawful "shake-to-recharge" flashlights or something?

Video games...

Sense...

I don't play games for realism... I play games to shoot satan with a minigun.

Why the hell are the zombies in Half Life 1 more powerful than the ones in Half Life 2. No seriously spawn both in G mod and the HL 1 zombie wins. Heck I even had one kill one of those super fast zombies. It makes no sense.

Not sure if its been brought up in this thread already, but being able to carry lava in iron buckets in Minecraft confuses me. I mean, if you're killed by lava it destroys EVERYTHING!!! Diamond, obsidian, bedrock, IRON but if you turn that iron into a bucket you can carry lava in it...

Any character design in a final fantasy game.
I'm sure I could justify SOME of them...

OT: Technobabble weapons. Hear me out on this.

Person: "Right, so! You have this amazing new weapon! It's a gun that ignores shields and immediately destroys an enemy vessel. We call it the Quantum Blitzkreiger."

ME: "How's it work?"

Person: "What do you mean? I just said-"

ME: "You told me what it does. You didn't make it make sense. What does it do? Does it disrupt physics with Zero-Point Energy? Are you harnessing the Dark Energy of space associated with Dark Matter? Have you, in fact, poured a ton of power into ripping dimensions open for this, the likes of which a Quantum ANYTHING weapon would require...as raping physics isn't hard?!"

Person: "Uhhh..."

ME: "If this was Destroy All Humans, it wouldn't matter because it's all silly anyway. This is your monumental war game in space. You have to show your work and prove that you don't just throw your terms out all willy-nilly. I can envision a Quantum Cannon that utilizes a high-energy distortion field to allow a beam of energy to travel around and push past defenses, exploding with a disruption wave along with just the destruction itself, and it makes a bit more sense because of applied sci-fi science. Sometimes, you have to explain the joke."

There's probably a million game technologies that could never even WORK in their games. A good game is one that can give some explanation for why things ARE that way in the first place.

It's gaming, I can certainly suspend my disbelief for a lot of things, but there are a few that still make me scratch my head:

Double Jumping
Floating Platforms (that don't clearly have a reason to be floating)
Every character in Oblivion sharing 5 voices
