Name one good Sonic game released in past 10 years.
Sonic Adventure 2
Shadow the Hedgehog
Sonic Colors
Sonic Rush
Sonic Rush Adventures

I can think of a few game series that declined in quality, but I can't think of a single game series that I've play and that I wouldn't want another awesome sequel for even if it means ignoring a dozen or so bad ones.

Vampires. Stephanie Meyer - that loathsome ***** - destroyed them, so they need to go away for a while so they can be reintroduced to the public correctly...

Preferably with a Dracula film that doesn't suck...

Final Fantasy. The fact that they're wanking off the franchise tag is insulting. I say keep Enix^2 because they made Just Cause 2 and are presumably working on a JC3, which would be awesome in a few years when Saint's Row 3 has done it's job at being awesome.

Also, the price tag on Madden games. I appreciate that they spend a lot of time on it, but they're talking about subscriptions to get full access. The Madden games do serve as the video game representation of Football, but paying a full price for a roster update and a few new features isn't worth it. Hell, drop the price 33% and it would be worth it for fans, because you CAN have a lot of enjoyment in the games, but that price tag just needs to get dropped.

Motion controls. I don't want to wave my arms to play a game. Now, I LOVE No More Heroes, and I thought that the kills were super fun, that's okay to have, but there are too many games that are set to make you dance like an idiot and work too hard. I play games to relax and have fun, not to get my work out, but I tell you, my friend teaching me power lifting is a HELL of a lot better of a workout than flailing my arms around w/ either the Wii, Move or Kinect. Fuck you motion controls as an overused concept, I want to hold a controller in my hand, slide back in my chair and play a game, because games are fun, not a workout

Every of the 3 major Blizzard franchises
Diablo 1 is a classic.
Diablo 2 was a massive improvement, and (from having played online recently) is still going strong 11 years later.
Diablo 3 looks promising from gameplay trailers.

So... what are you basing this on?

OT: I don't usually do 'inb4', but... inb4 "the Fable series."

I say give Lionhead one last chance to lock Peter Molyneux in a soundproof cage, make a fucking good game and earn the praise they deserve without their compulsive liar of a director ruining their reputation. If he manages to fuck it up again, can that shit.
Blizzard has no artistic integrity. Diablo 3 looks nothing like the Diablo universe. Also, it looks for now to be a complete and utter horrid fucking cheesefest on the story front, if the class trailers and their previous work on Starcraft 2 are any indicator.

The gameplay looks solid, don't get me wrong, but it's not the only criteria for any given game's quality with me.
Oh, believe me, I almost facepalmed at those class trailers. They almost made me scream "What the hell are you doing to this game, Blizzard!?" But if you look at the gameplay footage, the graphic style in that doesn't actually look cartoony at all. They done goofed on the cinematic trailer front, definitely, but I'm really relieved that they don't seem to have carried that in to the game itself.

As for the story, I don't actually know anything about it. Have they leaked any information on the basic plot yet?

TV shows like "Doctor Who" should all be shut down. Right now there are demands for all of these things, which is kind of the point. I think that if they were discontinued for a decade or so, and then brought back, it would seriously strengthen the franchises, all of which are involved in decay... very slow decay, but present none the less. The whole "leave them wanting more" strategy is something that I think media industries should embrace a bit more often.
Before it's 2005 reboot, Doctor Who hadn't been on air since 1989. So what are you talking about, basically?
... that the current series has gone on like six seasons plus spin offs.

Also I don't think Doctor Who ever really ended, I seem to remember it had some kind of notation for being noteworthy as one of the longest TV series of all time, and also longest time in syndication.

The point being that they are already beating it to death, especially given the previous runs.
It's the longest running sci-fi show (having been started in 1969), but not the longest consecutively running sci-fi show, I believe that belongs to Stargate. I could be wrong, though.

As for the "running it into the ground" thing. Since bringing it back, there have only been about 40-odd episodes (about only about 30-something if you don't count Christmas specials/Comic Relief things) which is about the same amount as any US TV show in it's 3rd or 4th season. Hardly running it into the ground if you ask me.

Turn based games (RPGs especially). All of them. Gone forever.

I got my fill of turn-based nonsense with the original Might and Magic as well as Beyond the Beyond. Ever since I played more real-time games, turn based always seems so pointlessly drawn out and slow paced. It rarely feels like player skill, even when it is entirely strategic and doesn't have any stats at all.

Also: Dungeons and Dragons, as well as games (video games especially) based around the d20 system. Know what sounds great? RANDOM NUMBERS. MILLIONS OF THEM. DON'T. STOP. ROLLING. DICE. Now, I used to be a big Dungeons and Dragons fan but it really was the hanging out with my friends that I enjoyed as opposed to the game itself. Then I looked at D&D more carefully and thus concluded: "This game kinda blows."

Pokemon?

There's only so many times they can redo that story before it gets stale, which was after the first season... Well, second wasn't too bad, but at this point it's just ridiculous.
Agreed, the songs of the 2 first seasons'(at the end of show) is for me nostalgic gold.
But now there's so many generation of pokeman that it is becoming silly.
Honestly, the person who has the rights of the franchise should have made enough money by now.

My Little Pony. I've not watched it in over twenty years so its popularity now seems new, scary and alienating. Well that and it just strikes me as slightly trite.
I know! I gave the show a chance and I don't understand at all why all these older men love it...

Aha!
But I don't see anyone campaigning that they should all die!
..
Joking aside, I agree. Sonic must live. For nostalgic purposes at least.
I second this, a world without Sonic would be a sadder place indeed. But someone has to tell Sonic Team to fuck off.

OT: Pirates of the Caribbean. Please, don't make any more. Nobody likes Jack Sparrow that much...

...do they?
Actually, I think that they can possibly do better now that they're not being held back by Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom, who I've never really seen be that much of strong actors. Orlando Bloom is eye candy and Keira Knightley is a less-talented Natalie Portman.

OT: As for things that can be put to death, the Simpsons is a good one. Pokemon is another. Bleach stopped being good after the soul society arc.

And also, why is it cool to hate Call of Duty now? Sure it has its problems, a lot of problems, but its fun to play and IMO it has a pretty good story.
I loved Call of Duty back when the developers knew that there were people who played it for the single player, specifically CoD 1 and 2. Everything since Modern Warfare has had a campaign shorter than that of CoD1's expansion pack, with the overwhelming emphasis being on multiplayer, despite the fact that the campaigns for the earlier games were absolutely spectacular. CoD2's Battle for Hill 400 is an absurdly intense level that's probably one of the most exciting FPS missions I've ever played. It also annoys me that 90% of CoD's current fanbase have not only not played the first game, they probably aren't even aware of its existence.

Please end the franchise now. It's gone from being one of the best FPS games out there to a soulless Activision cash cow.

Hmm, first reaction would be Twilight, but then that was never great. Or good. Or tolerable.

So I'm going to go with pop music. BURN IT ALL!
agree with this post completely.

I hate (yeaaahhh) American Idol. It's freakin rigged! Take off any reality show.
& Fanboy & Chum-Chum. Whoever created that should be shot.

Not sure, have to think it through.

I reckon The Simpsons should just end, right now. It had a whole decade of greatness but now it's over kill and really really stupid.

As for Sonic, it should take a break, come back after 5 years or something, Sonic Team can clear there heads. Maybe Mario as well now that I think about it. Yahtzee was 100% right when he said there is nowhere else to go after traveling the Galaxy. Mario Galaxy 2 with the return of Yoshi and New Super Mario Brothers Wii, what the fuck.

Sadly. Fedora's need to leave. They were great in the past. But now most people who wear them are Hot Topic twats who look like idiots. (Yahtzee not withstanding)

The Simpsons.
Family Guy.

I haven't watched either one for a few years. Do I want to? No.

Bleach, it was alright, but it should have ended with Aizen dead and not making the " Lulz we guna give u ur powa bak" storyline.
Bleach, it seems to me has been holding back on character development for way too long. Dare I say, stalling. It could be saved easily if asides from the action component we actually saw the characters going somewhere. Ichigo's non-combat friends have become all but non existent, he and Rukia remain completely platonic, Ishida still has some grudge with shinigami that neither goes away nor intensifies, Karen has figured out what's going on with Ichigo but nothing's happened about it and Chad's commitment to be Ichigo's equal still sees him at D tier. In short it's not that it's still going that bothers me, but that while it's going the characters somehow stand still. There was a lot going on in those first two or three arcs that seems to be locked and static now.
