Personally I'm tired of seeing thongs in video games. Navel piercings too.

I understand it's the style of the time but I don't see every woman wearing a thong and navel piercing around me.

Restricted Arsenal - I dont care that in real life I could only carry 2 weapons, I want to be able to have plenty of spare weapons just in case.

Big Gun, No Ammo - Don't give us a really big and powerful weapon and only give us enough ammo for 4 shots. I want to be able to use the big gun you give me, not horde it for the inevitable boss battle.

Its Single Player, Honest - I'm really getting fed up with games which are either single player campaigns, but with the focus being more on multiplayer (Dawn of War expansions) or games where they are set up for 2 or more playing but with AI taking control of the others if you're playing it single player (RE5, RA3, GoW) I buy a single player game to play on my own. Don't always expect your players to have friends.

I'm getting really sick of games that kill of your character after defeating off the final boss, or getting past the final level. When you amost get crushed at the end of mass effect really annoyed me, even though I diddn't tecnicaly die. Fallout 3 killed me off though. You'd think if they wanted my character to die the difficulty would be ramped up, or there would be a bomb right outside vault 101.. :p

Connected to this, I'm really sick having to reload a save file or start a new file at the end of a game. Kingdom hearts did this, I remember waiting for 20 mins for that "Thanks for playing" screen to dissapear and to let me tie up all the loose ends. But it diddn't, and I had to go reload my last save, after turning the ps2 off. Diddn't even have the dignity to restart itself. Again, this ALMOST happens in mass effect, but those clever guys at Bioware let me keep my character for a new career.

Slightly more on topic, I hate seeing endless waves of melee enemies in a shooter. It either ends up being a piece of cake, like those "sires" in Gears of War 2, or slaughtering everyone not fast enough to rapidly melee everything... Just like my companions in Mass Effect.

Other examples of redudant pistols are the Doom 3/Half-Life variety. You know, you start out with this shitty-ass weapon and work your way upward? It feels a little disappointing to me that your initial weapons just lose all their significance
In HL the Glock remains useful during all the game, since it's very precise and deals decent damage. I actually found myself using that more than the MP5. It's also perfect against headcrabs and eyehounds.
In D3 it isn't very useful at all (unless the game is modded), though it's OK against the spiders.

I'm getting sick of multiplayer being shoehorned into games that are better as a single player experience, just to say on the box "We have Multiplayer!". It takes development time and money away from producing a better single player experience, and ends up dragging the game down. It's one of my worries about Uncharted 2 actually.

Then, on the flipside, I'd like to see multiplayer in some games, like Oblivion, where having other players in the world would make it seem more alive for a change.

Heroes without enough clothes!

I still cringe at the thought of being jill and claire in resident evil 2 and 3

running around in their stripper outfits in a hungry field of zombies

Stealth "aspects" to action/adventure games.

Fallout 3 example: Did anyone actually put points into stealth? I did, but I NEVER found it useful. Even at 100, enemies could still spot me from half a zone away. At one point, I was stealthing, walking along, and a deathclaw ran up to me out of nowhere, trying to give me a big hug... Or kill me, I can't remember which.
Were you wearing Power Amour or other really heavy(weight-wise) armor? Enemies are obviously gonna spot you if you're wearing 45 pounds of steel plated armor aren't they? I can sneak well on Fallout 3 with 75 sneak, because I sneak in leather armour and not power armour.

On topic, Im not really getting sick of much in games. Sure, saving the world as a space marine/US soldier/whatever can get a little repetitive but as long as it's fun I'll continue to play the games.

Escort missions.
Especially when whoever you're escorting stops to tie their shoelace every 5 minutes and you've got to fight off a barrage of enemies whilst they take their sweet time.

Zombies.I mean come on do we need more zombies?

Enemy AI that hones in on your hiding place after a stealth kill,in the middle of night, under dense cover, after having backtracked a considerable distance, keeping all ememies out of line of sight..Yes Far Cry 2 I mean you fucker.

Console exclusives.WTF.Do you game developers want to make money or not? Here I am,I have some money. If you want my money then make your game available to me.No..oh ok then,I'll keep my money.

Bugs in games.Yeah no ones perfect but do they even test some games before release?

Cliched storylines.I dont think originality is that hard,I just involves a certain amount of creative bravery of which I have no doubt there is a copious amounts of talented writers and artists capable of realising that which we haven't seen before.

Lack of save points.A game that revolves around making progress,ie nearly all of them, means you need to have the option to save said progress when the real world beckons.

Halo and all the bullshit clones just like it.

At least Bungie announced that Halo:Reach is the last Halo game made by them ever. I'm sure Microsoft will just hire another company to keep pumping out crap under the Halo name but it's a small victory

Space marine stereo-types, brown or gray colour palets, poor story, super-serious badass action protagonists/ antagonists, and unimaginative weapons.

Russians. Leave them alone.
Sniping, not actually being sniping. CoD4 did sniper near perfectly with "all ghillied up" kept me on the edge of my seat until you actually completed the objective. I can't recall a game with actually sniping.
Gun porn. Where's the tactic?
500+ rounds of ammo. Anyone remember Halo CE?
Ridiculous amounts of blood. Ninja Gaiden
Mario and Zelda games.
Space Marines.
Pathetic RTS AI. ROFL Halo Wars.
Lack of a good, genuinely good grenade physics. The worst grenade physics were from RainbowSix Vegas 2
That's all I can think of right now.

Dude, Halo was cool. Halo CE and Halo 2 were top quality games. Halo 3 wasn't too bad...multiplayer was good though. How can you even say that Halo sucks? Halo kept me up until 3 in the morning just to find out what happens next in the campaign.

Yes, yes we do need more zombies. I haven't played a zombie game down right yet. Left 4 Dead was the best game ever...until you beat it and you and your friend are left sitting in your room thinking about how much that game actually sucked.
