I get made fun of by my friends/family/random people for often being totally unaware of popular culture, especially as it relates to tv/movies/sports and music, and the celebrities that are within those media.
For example, I cannot name a single member of the NFL(football), NHL(hockey), MLS(soccer) or MLB(baseball). I can name two or three basketball players, and take some guesses at others. When I'm asked if I'm "going to/watching the game tonight?", I always have to ask them to specify what they're talking about. Also I sometimes have to ask some basic rules on sports, though about 40% of the time I'm feigning ignorance just to upset people.
I found out who this Justin Beiber kid was a couple days ago, apparently he is on Ellen a lot. I didn't know who the Jonas Brothers were until the South Park episode about them. I didn't hear about lil' wayne til a couple months ago and all my friends were like dude! new wayne album droppin!!! This was greeted by a raised eyebrow. When they finally showed me a picture of this Drake fellow, my response was "Hey it's that cripple kid from Degrassi!"
I can't name a single reality television show thats on the air except for Dancing with the stars and survivor, and I've never watched an entire episode of one. This leads to some special teasing, as all the people at my job love that shit.
And anime. My mother often asks "what're you watching now on the ching chang chong??" while stretching out her eyes. I have to remind her that doing that is pretty racist.
Also I get made fun of because I don't think the Twilight books were bad.
