Hair.

More specifically I get the occasional random insult from people, "people" in this context being strangers and dickheads, because I have long(and quite frankly, bitchin')hair.

I've never understood the reason for the hair hate....

Um, because I don't enjoy working on cars (my father-in-law owns an auto shop). I can do basic work (change oil, change tires, check fluid, etc) but anything more complicated usually end with me wanting to start throwing tools in frustration and rage quiting. It doesn't help matters any that, at least once evverytime, I slip while trying to work and end up busting my knuckles open...that's when I take a break...for a while (see: days, weeks, or even months...). In my defense, I'm an EMT with decent understanding of tech stuff.

OT: For not being religious.

Edit 2: just 7 posts away from 1,000!!! Yay!

Knowing the people around me, I would get insulted for reading manga and watching anime. I keep it a secret.

My greatest secret, that I will reveal to no one except the internet, is that I love listening to vocaloid music. Oh, I can already imagine the flak I would get for that...

I get laughed out by my parents and friends of my parents for liking this song a whole lot:

I also get laughed at by my parents (and some of my friends) for thinking 2001: A Space Odyssey is one of the best movies ever made.
Please don't take this the wrong way but.........are those people morons?

Life on Mars and 2001: A Space Odyssey are both masterpieces.
Thats what I keep saying! But they mock me! My dad just sings the song in a weird voice thats supposed to be imitating David Bowie, and when I talk about 2001, he starts saying things like "Oh i'm and ape and now I will hit things" and stupid stuff. My Mom and most of friends also think 2001 is either a movie for druggies or really boring. And it's a real shame too, cause the friends of mine that haven't seen 2001 wouldn't have the patience for it.

My dad says I'll hate the movie when I'm forty but I don't know. I saw the movie without my concentration pill and I still sat through all of it at once, so like, that means I must've liked it.

And if nothing else the opening piece of music in that movie makes me like it just for introducing that piece to me. I also get laughed at for liking that song, too (Also Sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss).

I mean maybe I have my head in the clouds but I really like movies and songs about the meaning of life. Absolute truth and understanding just matters to me more then it does to other people, I guess.

And yes, my parents are morons. No offence taken.

I wasn't insulted, per se, but I think I lost a lot of respect with my guitar teacher when I brought this in:

I'm sorry...what?

People have actually insulted your hair?!

But you look like Kurt Russel! It is not possible!

Right, give me the addresses of these people. I'm going to kill them.
Well you have to remember, when I say people I'm refering to chavy, ASBO motherfuckers so it's not really that unexpected.

People who insult stuff that I like to do lose their status as my friends, or really as people that I consider worth talking to. Its really that simple.

The most common reason is for some of my personal... quirks. I'm a little crazy.

Uhh, the only ones I can think of now are people insulting me for liking metal and then a few PC elitists I know telling me consoles are shit and that I should buy a gaming computer. Too bad they are sorta expensive and neither of them payed for theirs....I prefer my PS3 anyway.

Grrrr, all your posts are so mysterious and vague, it drives me nuts :(. One of these days my curiosity is going to drive me to kidnapping you in order to get some answers.

OT: I used to get insulted in Guild Wars all the time for not taking the game "seriously" enough. I was pretty carefree and just there to have fun for the most part but my friends were super duper hardcore so it seemed to bother them quite a bit.

I get made fun of by my friends/family/random people for often being totally unaware of popular culture, especially as it relates to tv/movies/sports and music, and the celebrities that are within those media.

For example, I cannot name a single member of the NFL(football), NHL(hockey), MLS(soccer) or MLB(baseball). I can name two or three basketball players, and take some guesses at others. When I'm asked if I'm "going to/watching the game tonight?", I always have to ask them to specify what they're talking about. Also I sometimes have to ask some basic rules on sports, though about 40% of the time I'm feigning ignorance just to upset people.

I found out who this Justin Beiber kid was a couple days ago, apparently he is on Ellen a lot. I didn't know who the Jonas Brothers were until the South Park episode about them. I didn't hear about lil' wayne til a couple months ago and all my friends were like dude! new wayne album droppin!!! This was greeted by a raised eyebrow. When they finally showed me a picture of this Drake fellow, my response was "Hey it's that cripple kid from Degrassi!"

I can't name a single reality television show thats on the air except for Dancing with the stars and survivor, and I've never watched an entire episode of one. This leads to some special teasing, as all the people at my job love that shit.

And anime. My mother often asks "what're you watching now on the ching chang chong??" while stretching out her eyes. I have to remind her that doing that is pretty racist.

Also I get made fun of because I don't think the Twilight books were bad.

I play a lot of badminton. Most people think it's an awesome sport (and so you should :p) but there are the people that always say to me badminton is so slow, gay, wooftery etc etc. The thing is I could prove them wrong but what's the point when they wont listen.

I've been bashed a little for liking animes. People think that it's all light and fluffy. Those people also have never watched Higurashi or Hellsing with me. Although it has to be said that I did take the piss out of my brother for watching all of the episodes of Bakumon up to date in about 2 weeks.
