I actually had a guy at work call me a barbarian. I was just listening to the Dropkick Murphys and the Pixies, and he walked around calling me a barbarian listening to "that noise, or whatever the fu-- you want to call it."

Huh. Is...is he still around?

I've never been called anything...but I did surprise one person who didn't think I listened to metal or any variations thereof. That was cool.

My musical tastes extend to most genres although my favourites are rock and metal.

Yeah, I didn't take much offense seeing how it came from a kid who said Roman Catholics aren't christian.

I usually get "fag" for listening to various indie bands and experimental musics, the type of stuff you don't hear on the radio, and often borders more on the annoying/noise than what most people listen to. I've had a few friends appreciate my taste in music, but, otherwise, no one gets it.

OT: My mother sometimes says hardcore is 'Devil Music', which is rather funny because she's a more potent form of unreligious than I. Or, 'Kill Mummy Music.' She was never normal.

I'm pretty sure I've been called a twat for listening to techo on occasion.

I prefer classical, and most people can't think of anything negative to say about that.

I even like Linkin Park. :gasp:
