I actually had a guy at work call me a barbarian. I was just listening to the Dropkick Murphys and the Pixies, and he walked around calling me a barbarian listening to "that noise, or whatever the fu-- you want to call it."

I've never been called anything...but I did surprise one person who didn't think I listened to metal or any variations thereof. That was cool.

Yeah, he's still around. And alive. We just crank the music as loud as we can when he comes in the kitchen. One of my guys listens to Danish Thrash Metal, so we usually have that on reserve specifically for when dude comes in. We just stand back, cross our arms, and watch him squirm.

I usually get "fag" for listening to various indie bands and experimental musics, the type of stuff you don't hear on the radio, and often borders more on the annoying/noise than what most people listen to. I've had a few friends appreciate my taste in music, but, otherwise, no one gets it.

I have been called "fag" many times.

Mainly because I don't listen to whatever other people like.


I have also been called many bad things because I really hate rap.
Unlike most high school kids, I still have some dignity and refuse to listen to rap and act like a "gangsta" because everyone else does.

That's kind of amazing, as it's the same here - I try and play some actually "good" music, and get called out for playing something that isn't mainstream rap.
