The one thing that makes me feel a million years old is all the talking/reminiscing/joking about and referencing of Pokemon that always goes on. I was a senior in high school when Pokemon got really popular in the late 90s and I really haven't had any contact with it, other than an irrational hatred caused by working in a Blockbuster with a Pokemon Snap machine.

What about you guys?

Oh hey, I remember the Pokemon Snap machines! I printed some great stickers on that! Let's see, I think I was in...sixth grade!

...

That probably didn't help you feel any younger, did it?

Anyway, I often find myself shaking my head in disbelief over what games are considered "old" nowadays. N64 titles are NOT old, dammit! It gets even worse when specific games are mentioned:

Me: Hey, ever played Tie Fighter?
Kid: What's that?
Me: It's one of my all-time favorite Star Wars games.
Kid: Oh, it's a Star Wars game.
Me: ...you didn't know it was a Star Wars game from the title?
Kid: No, I've just seen the new movies.
Me: *picks up jaw from the floor* Anyway, you should really check it out if you get the chance, but you have to do some extra work to get it to run on today's computers.
Kid: Oh, was it for Windows XP?
Me: No, it was a DOS game.
Kid: What's "DOS?"
Me: *picks up jaw again*

All I can suggest is, get ready for alot more of those feelings in the future. Well maybe not the irrational hatred of Pokemon vending machines but, you never know. :)

It gets worse as you get older, I'm starting to get used to it. I think thats the biggest shock for me at this point.

I really wish I had never seen any of the star wars movies, simply so I could tell people that.

OT: Whenever I discuss with my little brother that the shows on tv now are not nearly as good as the ones i used to watch. He tends to agree with me though

That comic a while back where it seemed no one (or, at the least, not near enough people) got a very obvious Bladerunner reference/homage. That made me sad, not only for the feeling of being old but also because of the apparent lack of knowledge of an amazing piece of science fiction.

Makes me feel old when kids reminisce bands like "My Chemical Romance" and bands like that who have fallen out of fashion. I reminisce acts like Simon and Garfunkel- the Animals. Its a shame kids nowadays lose touch with the old classics and instead reminisce garbage like My Chemical Romance.

Someone may throw in the argument that "old" music will always be better than new- and in 50 years time people may look on My Chemical Romance as a true "classic" band- but cmon, I think I still have a point. House of the Rising Sun will always be one of the greatest songs ever written.

Yeah, it gets worse and worse. Another thing is hearing people talk about how the PC was never popular as a platform, as if the entire 1990s did not exist.

My hatred of Pokemon is irrational, but my hatred of the Pokemon Snap machine is as rational as it gets. The damn thing only held like 12 sheets of sticker paper, would always jam, had horrible connectivity issues with the memory paks and 9 times out of 10 would print way out of alignment with the sheet so I'd have to crack open the machine and run another and another until one came out where the pictures were actually on the stickers.

Realising Halo is 10 years old already. That one really shocked me, I can't believe it's been so long.

That and people asking me what an N64 was. It's not like it's that old!

Well I can't blame alot of people from blocking the 90's out of their minds but ya. I've been running into that sort of thing for quite a few years now. I've only found a hand full of people who can even identify the game system my avatar came from. And yes I can see why you would hate that Pokemon machine now. I've pulled an office space or two on a few machines like that.

He can die on the first fighters guild mission :p

Now I'm a Morrowind pro - I did my first Main Quest complete when I was 12, and know all the stats you should put in at startup. If you ever want tips, just come to me ;)
At least you finished the main quest. I've played Morrowind off and on for about six years now, and I ALWAYS get sidetracked one way or another. Funny thing is, I never seem to care.

I bet reading my profile makes some of you feel old.
I clicked to see, and once I realized that when you were born I was as old as you are now, I almost started to cry.

Whenever I mention a Master System title and no one has a clue what I'm talking about.
