Baldur's Gate - Why the hell couldn't you use the Wish spell to simply kill Sarevok?
"Very well, Serevock Jones, influential philanthropist and single parent, is now dead. He is survived by his 6 now orphaned children. Would you like to spend another wish spell and off them too?" :p

My big headbanger comes from RE5. So the way I understand it, the big bad's plan revolves around sending the infected daughter of the president back home where she creates mass havoc. So why do they try and hinder Leon and Ashley's attempts to escape? Wouldn't it serve their purpose BETTER to just let the brave pretty boy bring her back to her father as they sit back and watch the carnage on MSNBC?

The problem there is that they kidnapped the President's daughter. If they just let him take her back, there would be an investigation into the reasons behind the kidnapping. That, and it would have made a very boring game. :p

If I were running the show I'd kidnap the president's daughter, make some fake impossible demands (like say: make the army pull out of every other country, cut military spending by 4/5 and donate that money to 3rd world development), wait for the hero to show up, let him slip through my legions taking care to herd him away from any intel I don't want him to know) get the girl and escape (while I shake my fist on the shore). Then, during the heartfelt reunion between father and daughter, hatch the eggs.

A zombie shootout in the White House might make for a fun game

HEY! Nobody gets to shoot up the white house but Canadians, zombies or no... We set the f'in thing on fire once, its only fair we get first dibs for a second assault.

You had your shot...

Why is it when I see that pic the first thing that pops into my mind is "It's over NINE THOOOOOOOUSAND!"?

we've all heard the demand for vampires. I want werewolves. I'm tired of them being enemies or mini abilities for a short time *cough*diablo2*cough*. I want a full time werewolf dammit!

How's about an RTS where you tell 10 soldiers to attack a tank, then they look at you with a scrumpled face and shout "F**k off!".

Also why is it that in Resident Evil 4 when you shoot one of the "non-zombie" villager Ganados in the leg/arm/eye/pelvis/buttocks that they grunt instead of saying something meaningful like "SOB!" "Fother Mucker" "Omg I can't believe you shot me, you shot me in the arm!" This can actually be spread to cover all games of every genre.
This was in Perfect Dark they'd say things like "you *****" and "oh my god i've been shot" pretty much exactly how you described ;)

that's freakin' beautiful. I gotta see that happen, the closest thing i've seen was in rogue squadron, where if it wasn't thier job to do, they'd say" um... you're kidding right?"

The Close Combat series [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Close_Combat_series] did that. It's combat model included the experience and morale of each squad as well as it's capability against the target. If you ordered green and frightened riflemen to knock out a tank, all you'd get would be some sort of complaining dialog ("We're pinned down!" or "You're mad!" come to mind immediately) and then they'd either curl up and hide or just run away.

Damn, I miss that series.

Games need less jump buttons, more "Get forward and up in general" buttons. If you want to try and get up a series of boxes stacked on each other, do you hop up like a freaking bunny?
No? Seriously? Wow, I wonder why all the FPS characters always do that...

I don't want a "jump" button ever again in a game. I want a "jump-roll-climb-scale" combined button that does whatever makes the most sense contextually at the moment.

I feel ya, only reason i said that cause i remember the days when my friends hated every game that you couldn't jump in. RPG, RTS, racing, flight...first question, "Wheres the jump button?"
