Well, it's nice to see all of the love for America. I can agree on most of the points, I have been using metric for four years now and I prefer it. Oh, and the money to China.... yeah.... Anyways, it's not that bad here, but I haven't been to any other countries yet so I don't really have anything to compare it to.

1. NO MORE RAP OR EMO MUSIC
2. Please, no more ShamWow or Snuggie commercials.
3. No more canceling good tv shows and replacing them with CSI: Major City.
You don't know how nice that would be. Let the record show that I only find the ShamWow commercial mildly entertaining, but I do lead a boring life. Your number 1 point, well I don't listen to those genres, but some people like them. Number 2 and 3 though, those should be enacted immediately.

American Football uses hands and is similar to rugby, therefore American Rugby.

European football uses feet. American football uses hands- sometimes feet.

Am I the only one who considers a mostly hand-using game to have foot in its name the slightest bit backward??
I have no idea why that one sentence seems to appear deadly serious even sitting in the middle of a list of jokes- hehe. It's not just you, effilctar, everybody is taking it that way.

Yup. That's what happens when you tell the truth. The scary, disgusting and awful truth that people prefer to pretend like it wasn't there.

But I don't really care what parts of the truth some people prefer to ignore. It was bound to happen sooner or later. But that's what happens when the general population in a country simply ignores what it's government is doing abroad.

"Hate" is a word suffering from inflation these days. It seems like everyone interprates well motivated criticism as "hate" all the time these days. All I can say is, you people doing this don't know what hatred really is...

Iceland, we have over 6 party's.

EDIT: Crap! I was not aware of that fact that i was piling up comments like this! Sorry for the triple post!
Read down a bit, though, from what you quoted of mine. We had a rather involved discussion on this topic. The question I had is still relevant: given the coalitional form of government most other "multi-party" democracies have, I don't see a significant difference between the fact that many smaller interest groups (i.e parties) form what we would normally call the Democratic party and the fact that many independent parties form a coalition in Iceland/England/Japan/Germany in order to gain a majority. In both cases, it's a big tent party comprised of a lot of people of somewhat similar interests.

What we need are freakin' birth applications.

Want to have kids? Find out if you are financially stable enough to support them first.

And limit the number of kids in families. One to three is possible...but once you hit four, five, six, etc., someone's not going to get the attention and affection they need.

No, you lose credibility when you spout things that are obvious untruths. It is evident from your every statement that you have no statistics, no examples, and no facts to back up your arguments: you seem to believe that merely saying something is enough to prove it true. Multiple times you have said "history has shown" that the point you are making is true, and not once have you given examples of when or how history has show it, even (or, alternatively, especially) when such examples would be required for a rational person to believe what you are saying.

Yes, except you're completely incorrect. Everyone in America knows what the US government is doing in other countries. News flash for ya: other people have different political philosophies than you do. They see the world differently from the way you do. And they are moved to act for causes other than the frankly unintelligible ones that seem to motivate you. To put it more simply, they are not ignoring what their government is doing. That is not possible with the current twenty-four hour news cycle and the deluge of information presented to every citizen every day, constantly showing them what is happening around the world. They cannot ignore it, no more than you can ignore a fly that keeps buzzing in front of your face.

Also, what, exactly, was "bound to happen sooner or later?" There was nothing in either the post by Hardcore_gamer or yourself that could be the subject of that sentence.

And you do, presumably? Your "well motivated criticism" bears no resemblance to reality, is presented in the most insulting manner possible considering the material, and is liberally infused with a tone that speaks more of incoherent rage than rational debate. I would say that in this case the word "hate" can be used in the purest sense of the word.

I mean, come on, JimmerDunda stopped just posting insults and wrote up some rational arguments that were presented in a calm and reasonable manner--and yet you, who have spent most of the thread in opposition to him, have done nothing of the sort. You've just continued ranting, moving further and further from anything resembling rationality. To be honest, I'm inclined to dismiss your arguments out of hand just because of the manner in which they are presented, and I hardly think I'm the only one.

Post something that isn't obnoxious, and people might be inclined to take you seriously.

I'll say one thing, abolish the Two Party system since it divides the country and sends what could be an honest debate into glittery eyed fanboyism for whatever party you affiliate yourself with.
We don't have a two-party system, it just worked itself out that way.

We 'Mericans don't take kindly to no good metric system users round here! Good now that my inner redneck is out and about, why are you getting so uppity and bothered about a few names and how we measure shit. God you sound like a marriage counselor with a stick up his ass.

What is the big deal with the Metric system? All it is, is a way to measure. Our system is different. No system is better. Yes I am aware that Metric is based on 10, and ours is not.

Honestly though, I think Marijuana and Prostitution need to be legalized. Crime will go way down because everyone will be getting stoned and getting laid. Nobody wants to do shit when they are high, and if they are already getting laid, then they aren't thinking about rape.

Work productivity will remain the same. Seriously, I doubt it would change at all.

I just... wow... are you serious?

I like the American system, because I like to be at least 6 feet tall, not some where around 2 meters tall.
And yes, the American educational system is complete bull crap, I mean, just read the comment above.
And actually, I was "taught" Spanish all through elementary and for two years in high school. So, I have roughly seven years of education in the Spanish language, that's one less year than a doctrine. Can I speak Spanish, not a chance. Why? because, even though I have lived in Florida all my life, I am not around the Spanish language to actually use it. If I lived in Mexico or Puerto Rico, then yes, I would know a lot of Spanish, why, because I'd use it everyday.

as someone who is well researched in every way the government fucks over the entire population, i would have to go with the "No Child Left Behind Act"

for those of you lucky enough not to have to live with this bullshit, it means the process of holding a student back a grade is now illegal to a great degree.

Classes are dropped to the level of the lowest scoring student. You can't tell them they're wrong about something, because if they're pussies and cry, you can be sued and fired.

just a few things
universal health care: why is it that the country that we most make fun of (Canada) it actually better when you think about it for really one reason, universal health care.
legalize pot: i know what your thinking "just another stoner who wants pot to be legal so he can spend his days eating potato chips on his mother sofa". wrong. I've never actually gotten high in the US. if they do make it legal 1)make it about the same price as cigarettes if not a little bit more 2)tax it. ALOT. think about it if its legal the rebels will stop smoking it, if you tax it the government gets a very large amount of money for doing almost nothing

Frankly, the whole place is going to shit faster than a fly. We are on the brink of turning socialist. Now I have to say that I saw this coming, but not within my lifetime! Now I do realize that there is a tri-cycle that always leads to the said countries destruction in the end. Theirs the conquer cycle, rebellion cycle, and failing government cycle. They meet at the middle where there are 5(only 4 now) country possibilities. It's government fails and a new one rises from the ashes or is added to an already existent country , it is taken over (meaning one country falls and there is just a bigger already existing country), rebellion which in essence leads down a similar road to the failing government but with more violence(I am perfectly fine with this ;) ), Making a country from scratch(the now impossible one), and woot we made it through this and survived only to ultimately go around another cycle again and again until we reach our demise. America is failing in the government area which means rebellion, people starving or leaving (this would take a long time. Especially with our fat asses.), or surprise we get raped by china (metaphor for war were they win).

I could bring nukes into the equation, but if I did then I?d get into science where we and MOST (I stress that part) living beings die and sentient beings are renewed in evolution or nothing and this planet will remain uncivilized forever (if A. you don?t believe in evolution B. we are all wiped out anyhow.)(Now I have personally chosen not to believe in a or many god(s) (I'd be perfectly fine if god exists and would actually be happy to know of an existence like that. Though I do make it a personal point not to say for certain what I don't know.) , but for those who are anything pertaining to what it or they would do is safely said beyond our mental capabilities)

So with that ever so fluffy image at life. I couldn't give half a damn about this country. If things get too unbearable I'll move to the next country. Legally or not. And yes considering I didn't say it through this whole thing I am an American.

Stop making out like it's the end of time just because of a change in government. Believe it or not, but a lot of people wish America was socialist. Further more, stop being so damn racist towards the Chinese. I don't think they'll really go out of their way, harming themselves to fight a war against America for no reason.

As for the activism, you realize, the biggest protest reported in history was when Georgy was in power?
I'm not sure what you're going into with evolution and nuclear physics? I'm not sure where any of this plays into the equation.

I?m saying that governments always fall (mainly by suddenly changing believes and the whole thing about the Chinese is more or less a joke in which has some possibility in that they probably want their money (as would we all).

And those play into my actual end of the world theory (i stress the Theory part and I only give it about a 5% chance of happening) though it connects I do now relies that it is pointless in this conversation.

And attacking America is it? Seriously? That would damage them so much worse and also the global economy. As for the revolution of empires, they don't crumble, they evolve and spread. Look at France for one example. Now with global trade and the UN amoung many other factors, you are never never going to see a rapid decline and destruction of a country.

Dude, human rights. Look into them. How would you like if someone said to you that you and your wife was only allowed one child because of where you lived while she wished and yearned for a large family.
