Since I have reached the point in my life where I am out of my parents house (and state), no longer a student of any kind, AND have a fairly substantial amount of disposable income because I NEVER SPEND MONEY EVER (except on food and the occasional video game), I've been buying a LOT of the things that I've always wanted to buy for years but never found myself able to. None of them are especially expensive save for my new kick-ass computer: Hulk Hands (original), a Nerf sniper rifle (modded to shoot much, much farther :p), Dr. Insano goggles (For SCIENCE!!!!), and the perfect bucket hat (surprisingly hard to find a good one until now).

But I'm curious, Escapists... What things have you always wanted to get but don't, and why don't you? And when I say that, I'm talking the things you don't need but just really want to have, even if they don't make sense to other people.

there's a bunch of stuff but I'd say the top of the list is a makerbot [www.makerbot.com].
The purchase isn't horribly expensive, but I haven't bought one because its too much for me to allocate at the moment. Originally I was going to make my own with the help of: RepRap Machine [www.reprap.org] but still I can't afford the time or money investment without pulling back from some other project.

enjoy.

Maybe not always, but recently, I've been wanting my own couple wind turbines to power my house with a more efficient form of energy!

A 4 button pinstripe suit (no prizes for guessing why). I haven't because they aren't widely sold at department stores and such, and I'd rather buy my infant daughter a bucketful of toys and books than spend money on a custom tailor right now.

I've been looking for an og Gameboy Color recently to fill in those nostalgic childhood gaps. I could probably find one online but I don't trust the internet if the item I'm buying isn't new.
And even then its 50/50.

Dance Central for the Kinect. Never gonna get it: the entry cost is too much. I'd need to buy and Xbox 360, and then a Kinect, and THEN the game. And I would never spend all of that, just for one game (an incredibly fun game, but still). Plus, my cousin owns the game, so even though I only get to play it when I see him, that's enough for me.

A Browning M2 .50-caliber machine gun. Preferably with a Humvee to mount it on, but I'll settle for a tripod. The only reason is cost, because with enough licenses from the ATF I could actually own one of those.

I want an original gold-colored Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time cartridge, and a clear-purple N64 to play it on. Specific, yes, but that's what I had when I was a kid and I'd love to recapture that.

Black steel-toe combat boots (only just fulfilled that wish), a pair of those ridiculous steampunkish welding goggles to strap onto my cap, a properly forged, non-replica broadsword, and the Hellboy art book.

A theremin, for shiggles

A half decent gaming rig. I'm working on that one, just need time to source parts.

And a sword. Because I just want one, dammit. It would be awesome.

There's nothing I've constantly wanted but lately I've been obsessed over getting an Android tablet. I've been seriously looking at the Acer Iconia for quite a while now.

In fact, all of the made to order stuff from Lord of the Rings collection from Weta Workshop.

A Corvette!

But on a slightly more realistic note...hmm. I know it almost seems like an oxymoron, but a nice gaming laptop. Even if it'd be a little bulky, I've grown way too fond of laptops after owning this one for so long. Possibly my own PS3 as well, I've always felt bad having to borrow my friend's.
