I just have one thing to say. If Mario bros is 'kiddy', there is no reason they couldn't have stuck to the simple nintendo story and had a fat plumber jumping on gooba's and koopas. We have spongbob and other crap like that, so why wouldn't it work?

Honestly, the Super Mario Bros. movie was the best video game > movie conversion ever.
Max Payne would have been good, but every time I saw Mona, I couldn't stop thinking of her as Meg from Family Guy.

I always thought Splinter Cell would make for a cool movie, but it's more fun to compare it to actual movies. The story of Conviction reminded me of Mystic River, so I plan on watching that the week that the new Splinter Cell comes out.

What I would like to see even more are movie-based video games that don't suck.

Baldur's Gate!!! Do want! Imagine...say Tim Curry as Jon Irenicus (..on second thought, maybe not that good an actor/character match, but shut up, i enjoy both irenicus and curry >.>). Vin Diesel as minsc? Or a shaved arnold, perhaps...and...hm...hugh laurie perhaps as Edwin Odesseiron (although you may refer to him as 'sir' if you prefer a less...syllabelle intensive workout 8D).

Planescape Torment would also make a pretty good movie, I suppose, although the atmosphere would be hard to capture...

Why not just use the original Irenicus actor, David Warner [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001831/], since he's done a few Sci Fi roles, including ST:TNG and Babylon 5... he has the perfect evil voice.
