true I don't have my 360 at the moment so not all of my games are with me are you getting gold by chance? some games are better if playing online (like borderlands)
I would like to and the 60$ per year sounds nice, but at the moment I don't even have a job so anything over 10$ is bound to put me and my parents off.

Suggest some games as if I were a boy then. The kinect will be way out of my range, and I already have the Sims on the PC.
But you already dismissed the big sellers for Xbox, anything else is pretty much on all platforms. You left me with no sales pitch :p

Hmm let's see what's unique...
- Banjo Kazoie / Banjo Tooie (must have arcade games) - but for god's sakes don't get Nuts and Bolts
- Crackdown (very fun open world game)
- Rock Band/Guitar Hero (if you like those, and have a spare 200$)
- Bayonetta (over the top Japanese brawler)
- Bully (very cool adventure game)

And that's pretty much all the unique xbox stuff I can think of, there is still ofcourse that whole sea of shooters.

tbh you'd better getting most of those games for the PC. I'm not flaming the X-Box! Just saying most of the ones that are being listed are available for the pc for less money and better graphics. Buy an x-box controller for your pc, get Steam or Impulse and you'll be laughing for most of them, the money you save on the console you can spend on more games!

Viva Pinata is about as causal as you can get, I think. So yeah, I'd suggest that.
Haha, you seriously believe that Viva Pinata is casual? One of the deepest games on Xbox to date. Beautiful colorful art style =/= casual.

Yeah, get Viva Pinata.

Well, depends on how you play it, really. I played it in two ways, casual and, for lack of a better word, hardcore. It's casual if you don't give a toss about finding new pinatas and that but it gets a lot more deeper and interesting if you try and get specific ones.

Plus getting the Dragonache was a highlight for me. XD

But yeah, I'll reinforce my post and Balobo's, get Viva Pinata.

Yeah, fucking awesome game if you actually put effort into it. The small details, such as the grass that sways in the wind and the breathing pinatas, really increase its rank in my book.

TiP is probably the definite version right now so you should pick that up.

Crysis 2 (apparently soon to also be Crysis 1?), Dragon Age Origins and Awakening and the Mass Effect Series are favourites of mine I would recommend.

Also try some Arcade games like Magic the Gathering 2012, From Dust and Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet.

You can find some of the most awesome games you'll play on Arcade/Marketplace.

-batman arkham asylum,
-Assassins creed 2,
-Fallout 3
and probably the Fable series.
Do try to avoid multi-player focus games ´cause no one wants to pay monthly subscrition for it
(I know i didnt said any casual title but i dont know any good ones so sorry)

Before you start with the triple-A titles, i suggest you buy a ton load of MS points and plunder the XBL Arcade.

I recommend
-Limbo
-Castle Crashers
-Battlefield 1943
-Call of Duty 2
-Sonic 4
-Section 8: Prejudice

If I am lucky enough, I plan to get an Xbox this upcoming holiday. So I want to hear from the escapist, what are some games that you'd recommend?

This is not a "complain about games you hate" thread. Please recommend causal titles as well (that is not on the Kinect), and no Halo/Gears of War/Call of Duty games.
Wait are are you younger so you can't play Halo, GoW or CoD or you're already going to buy them or you have no interest?

Anyway, Crackdown was a great 360 exclusive, it's basiclly a sandbox where you play a superhero that works for the police, there's a sequel but the gameplay isn't as rich in the story missions department and is more focused on multiplayer.

Assasin's Creed Brotherhood is basically Assasin's Creed 2.5 (Revelations I doubt will be a sequel though) and it has multiplayer which has entirely different gameplay that I liked much more then the singleplayer.

Just Cause 2, like Crackdown it's a Sandbox but it's more like Spiderman with parachutes and guns while Crackdown is more Captain America without the Patriotism.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas, you should've already heard good stuff about them.

I'd look into the 360's exclusives library. Anything by BioWare is also good - especially the Mass Effect series. You may also find some gems on the XBLA.

If you don't own a gaming PC then you may want to look at some games released for the 360 (out on PC as well) but not on the PS3, such as the Left 4 Dead series.

Well since you are a girl I can't help but suggest you get kinect and that dancing game... with some name.

And the Sims, but a fair warning before you do, it may lead you to bankruptcy so be careful.
Not sure if this comment is offensive or hilarious :/

On topic: Are there any games you know of that you like at all to help us suggest some? Personally I'd recommend Left 4 Dead, it's always a laugh, and if you're after a really well written story, I'd suggest Mass Effect:)

A lot of the games on here I agree with. So I'll just mention ones I haven't seen on my quick scan through:

- Assassin's Creed- the original. I saw 2 recommended, but I'd definitely say that you should play the first one... well... first.

- Tales of Vesperia- as long as you don't mind the anime aesthetic (which I'm guessing you don't, from the avatar), this is a great game.

- Devil May Cry 4- yes, it wasn't quite as good as DMC3, and there was a fair bit of repetition, but I found it fun enough to justify a purchase.

And, that being said... I second Bioshock, the other Assassin's Creeds, Fable II, Infinite Undiscovery, The Orange Box, and the Bioware games.

(...And, really, random poster? I never knew being female meant that I should own a Kinect and a dancing game. ...I'm such a failure. /sarcasm)

Retail games:
- Mass effect series
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour (it's awesome when you get to know the mechanics)
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed series (the story is sucky, but gameplay enjoyable. The first one you should be able to find cheap)
- DiRT 2 or 3
- Fallout 3 and/or Fallout New Vegas
- Ilomilo (great puzzle game)
- Catherine (One of the best narratives in gaming history, a great story. Don't miss this)

XBLA games:
- Shadow Complex (a great game in general)
- Splosion man / Ms. splosion man
- LIMBO
- Zombie Apocalypse

No interest, turned 18 last month :p

Do you get to create your own superhero or is there already a character made?

Arkham Asylum, ACII and Brotherhood and Bioshock are all pretty much essential. ME1 and 2 are also must-play (for me, anyway), but always struck me as more suited to the PC.

Alan Wake if you enjoy good writing and a really intense atmosphere. The Fables are worth a playthrough but they're not among the greats, just short-term fun.

Prototype's pretty good if you just want to cause mayhem in an apocalyptic Manhattan, and GTA IV if that's your thing. Red Dead Redemption is also definitely worth a purchase if you think it'll be up your alley.

And get Castle Crashers if you have someone to play it with. Do it.

If we're talking about casual, The Undergarden would have to be your best bet, and at only 400 Microsoft points ($5) you really can't go wrong. other than that, most of my suggestions have been taken.
