I Wanna Be the Guy.

I still enjoyed it though.

I Wanna Be The Guy fucking terrified me, it is literally designed to kill you as often as possible. It's brilliant.

Other than that, Ninja Gaiden, Mega Man 2, Castlevania, Alex Kidd in Miricale World. All great games though.

I'm curious, did you play the first game? Personally I think it was way better and more challenging (especially Black) so when I got around to playing the second I found that it wasn't so much hard as it was cheap; I constantly got blindsided by guys with bazookas and dudes with exploding shuriken (and I thought they were annoying in the first game - in the second they utterly raped my poor Ryu)

You can't say the Battle Network games are easy Megaman games. Easier than core titles, certainly. But still a pain.

Pretty much every first run-through of a MegaTen game. Even if the insane bosses and random battles don't get you, the demon fusion and quirky elements (like S. Links from P3 and P4) will drive you batty. Of course, those are all the things that I love about those games so...

Metroid Prime 2 was pretty tough at parts. Mostly because the air killed you. Yes. That was annoying.

Also hilariously difficult from that game? The Spider Ball Guardian. The Spider Ball Guardian.

Spider Ball Guardian? Seriously!? I'd say Boost Ball Guardian or Emperor Ing were harder, but yes MP2 was a hard, but fun, game.

First Allied mission on Men of War stands out 4 mean 1 armed with a rifle to armed with pistols and one with hands. Against a nice sizable german force and the name of the game is to sneak it whitout getting seen so they dont call for thier reserves and oh your timed in away as a platoon will soon be passing though... the goal is to save some civ's/freedom fighters from a warehouse ....

Other than that all of them have been said Demon Souls, Contra, NG.

Nethack, furthest I got was 14th level of the main dungeon and all of the gnome caverns. Never fails to send a hitsquad of something more powerful then me. Oh soldier ants and killer bees how I hate you for your randomness, I can at least understand the orc hitsquads I've been killing your friends.

Really? This? No offense intended, but that game was pretty easy. I never got to play an emulated version. I had it for the GBA. You gotta wind up using those seemingly retarded chips that feel like they have no use. Those wind up being the most useful ones. Avoid the "summons".
