I just finished Mass effect two(yes, slow i know. i got a bit bored and started playing other games and then went back to it.) and half of my entire team was wiped out. Even worse it was all the female members (including jack, the only person i was intrested in) which means i'm going have to build another love intrest from the ground up in Mass Effect 3!

It seems that most games these days just kill off main charecters just to get cheap easy emotional value. Halo, Gears of War and Call of Duty are guilty of this. And their deaths hardly mean anything, it's just them being cheaply killed like being sniped or you finding them dead. I mean WTF man?! It really pisses me of...

Anyways what really ticks you off in videogames?

Also, i get it that i fucked up and that's it's all my fault. I was able to figure that out when Tali died. M'kay?!

You could have kept them alive if you got all the upgrades.

Anyway, what ticks me off in videogames is when save points are hours apart, really hate that.
Silent protagonists too, unless there's a good supporting cast.

You could have saved them, if you'd bothered to upgrade your ship and complete all of their side missions and picked the right choices for the Suicide Mission.

Only one of mine died in the first run. Then they all survived in the second run. You just need to pick the right people for the jobs.

OT: Insta-kills. I'm sure it's hilarious when I just finish a long and brutal fight only to be crushed by a piece of ceiling. Damn you designers!

The fact that you have to purchase those ship upgrades, solely for the fact that they keep your teammates alive in the final mission. THAT pisses me off.

The death of any squad mates in Mass Effect 2 is literally your fault.

You absolutely have to prepare properly and know who's good at what to get zero deaths, so if you're really torn up about your outcome, load a save.

Why would you even want to continue with that? Seems to me like the best response would be to delete the save and import your Shepard again and play the game a 2nd time but try to save everyone.

In Mass Effect 2?

Because I think it's impossible to save the first guy from dying in Mass Effect 1 (or is it?)

It's not that hard to keep everyone alive you know. Just do all the missions, get everyone's loyalty and make logical squad choices in the final mission.

Why? It makes sense, buy upgrades to save yourself from danger.

It is. Trying to save one teammate at that certain point will result in a rather explosive if premature end for the other.

Mass Effect 2, yes. Mass Effect 1, Jenkin's always dies (just like in every other game he's in. That name is the video game equivalent to having a red shirt.)

Ah, I see. Well, like someone suggested, just give the game another shot and be sure to do their loyalty missions and stuff.

Not continuing with it defeats the whole purpose of choice in the game. One of the main draws of a Bioware game is making a choice and living with the consequences and have a different story each time.
What's the point of having choices and consequences if you're just going to reload every time it goes wrong?

Normally, I'd 100% agree with you, but this seems to have legitimately pissed him off. Starting over may not be the worst option here.

I have to agree with this. Mostly I find insta-kills cheap and not a sign of difficulty, just plain unfairness. Unless you can insta-kill your enemies, then it makes a tad more sense.

Still pisses me off though.
