Well if that posts anything its these:

1. You really are Pretenious.
Pretentious with a capital P. Impressive. Maybe if I try harder, I can make it to PRETENTIOUS with all-caps.
Oh goodie, you're also an arrogant prick as well!

you know I was half-joking when I said you believe your own words to be that of the trope: Word of God, but now it really is true. I don't even know if you know the difference between Opinion and Fact.

As a little experiment, I decided to go on Amazon and look at the price difference between a 3DS and a Vita. A brand new Vita on Amazon can be had for £176. A brand new 3DS XL (which we'll use for comparison purposes) can be had for £149.

That's only a difference of £27, a rather small sum. And yet, Vita sales here in the UK are still as miserable as they are everywhere else. Obviously the UK being a recessive economy hasn't helped, but the 3DS seems to be doing fine here despite being only marginally cheaper and having to face the same economic woes.
You do realize the original 3DS exists right? Stop using one example to prove all wrong, if the origianl 3DS was the same price as the XL, then maybe but considering it is cheaper with no memory card requirement, sort of proves that false.

You're right to mention this, but this isn't the be-all-and-end-all. The 360 used expensive proprietary hard-drives, and still sold incredibly well. While the memory card pricing is a fiasco, Sony could have still overcome it (as Microsoft did), if they dimply had put out games people wanted to play. They didn't, and they're still not doing so.
People are more willing to drop money on Hard drives then memory cards, first of all considering a hard drive is usually triple the size of the memory card.

A spike which has long since disappeared. That spike in sales probably had more to do with a smaller demographic making the most of a drop in price than it did any underlying interest among larger demographics. Is the price still cut in Japan? Then why have sales declined once again?
Did I even state the spike was still there? Also now your just going on assumption. Do you have hard fact, and yes, I mean FACTS, that prove once and for all that there isn't a large demographic of people who want console experiences on the go? Considering the influx on more mobile machines pushing for console-experiences, one would have to go on that there must be a market for that.

You don't just disprove this demographic by proving that another demographic exists.

Temporary surge in sale =/= massive interest from consumers. That sales spike was just that- a spike. Any real interest would have resulted in a long term sales boom, such as the 3DS encountered. Without the games, the system simply is not going to have any widespread appeal beyond the hardcore niche.
you know what? Please just STOP LYING TO YOURSELF. Jeffers, Nintendo-Defense-Force Champion, stop lying to yourself. You state you think the Vita is a good hardware but it's bullshit. You seem to try EVERYTHING in your might to try and prove how much it sucks against the all mighty unfailiable Nintendo, a company which apparently based on you is near God-levels.

I would be fine if you were more neutral headed but considering half of your posts are spent defending Nintendo, it just irriates me to extremes.

People don't buy handhelds to play console games. People buy handhelds to play handheld games.
I bought my Vita for console quality indie and AAA games, no other platform of that size can do what the Vita does at the price it does it at.

I don't have one but I hope it does well, I want Sony to continue in making games and all that good stuff and that can't happen if their products aren't selling.

I don't have one because of the high price and that subscription thing or whatever it is, also not enough games on it interest me.

I like the vita and want to own one, there just isn't a good reason to own one. Anything I want to ply on it....ok I only want it for persona 4 and I can get that for my ps2.

My Vita at the moment is a YouTube portable. xD Though, I loved Gravity Rush and Sony's free games have made this worth while, that and I saved like 100$ on my Vita.

160$ for the system and an 8 gig memory card.

You really are the worst. We all said "there is a demographic that wants what the Vita offers and we are a part of that" and you go on a rant about how we're wrong because the majority think differently. Sounds like prejudice to me.

And at the risk of mod wrath, I honestly you're a pretentious dick to boot. Why do you need to go on this nasty, moral crusade against anything non-Nintendo? What has Sony done to you in the past that makes you ritualistically degrade them and attempt to debunk anyone that likes their Vita?

The Vita is expensive, this is a fact and one that every one is aware. I'm also aware that the 3DS and most 3DS games have sold significantly more than the Vita. How many units the Vita moved is utterly irrelevant to how much I enjoy the console so stop throwing graphs and sales figures out like they're the be all and end all.

Sometimes I wonder if you're paid by Nintendo to sit behind your computer and trash talk the competition. Sony specifically. I'd think that if I thought Nintendo needed it, which I don't think they do. So why do you feel the rabid desire to speak down to me and others because we're not a part of the majority that don't want a console experience on a handheld?

Yeah I don't hate the Vita, I just have nothing invested it. Admittedly I place it lower than the 3DS, but that's only cause I dislike how Sony is trying to push their own exclusive memory format. But it's a very cool looking handheld with some nice features.

I wouldn't take it personally. People also seem to want the Wii U and the Ouya.
People want the Ouya to fail? I mean, don't they just laugh at it? Cause that's what I do.

Yeah, there's not much of a Vita hate train. Maybe a Vita hate unicycle and
a Vita indifference bus.
There's a bus? Maybe I should upgrade my indifferent sneakers to an indifferent bus pass.

you know what would make the PSVita more appealing? backwards compatibility - i.e. some way to transfer UMD games to a PSVita. considering i have a PS3 and PS+, the Vita was slightly appealing, but knowing that i'd have to pay for digital versions of almost anything i wanted to play and that i couldn't go on the second hand market and buy UMDs kept me from even considering it. sony cares more about getting people to buy its overpriced system, with overpriced modern games with little support for older titles. i mean, if they announced the whole PSP library was coming to digital at reasonable prices, i'd be all over it, but even if they did, they'd still try to get us to pay retail.

although i have a 3DS, it was a gift from my wife, and i already had a DS with a collection of 20 or so games - so the native backwards compatibility made the 3DS way more attractive than a PSVita. even now, i only have 3 3DS games - i'm not interested in ports of older games (ok, i lie, i still want star fox 3DS... but i already played the hell out of it on my N64 back in the day), especially at $40, so i have both mario games and Final Fantasy Theathrhym, and that's it. in fact, i'm more interested in the VC titles than the new cartridge games as i can get the same play time at <25% of the cost (link's awakening, metroid 2), and i'm still playing DS games (mega man zero collection). i can still go out and buy tons of other DS games second-hand and play them on my 3DS. regardless of nintendo's missteps, they at least realize how much backwards compatibility matters to current gamers - the original DS could play GBA games, and the 3DS can play DS games, the Wii could play GC games and the Wii U can play Wii games - so even if there aren't many retail games, you could still go pick up older games while you wait, or even buy the system so you can still play those old games. you can't do that with Vita.

I'm actually planning on buying a friend's Vita in June, though mainly to replace my busted PSP.

Not being able to play Dissidia 012 and War of the Lions has been KILLING ME!

why do you care so much if other people dont like the vita? i loved final fantasy 13 and it doesnt bother me that everyone else hates it. besides, i dont think people really hate it, they just dont have enough reason to play it. right now the vita is where the 3ds used to be. for a long time the 3ds was just collecting dust because there were only a couple great games for it but has picked up a lot of steam since then. the only reason people dont like the vita is because there isnt enough reason to buy one.

I don't hate the PS Vita, but nor do I have any reason to get one.

About the only title I'm interested in is Persona 4: The Golden. Other than that? Nope nah, nothing really interests me that I can't get on my PSP already. The 3DS is looking a lot more attractive at this point, honestly.

A sony fan complaining about the hate targeted at sony, one of the big 3 that gets little hatred spewed at it......... Why don't we talk about all the hate targeted at nintendo that seems to come out of the sony community for a minute?

How annoying. You guys have the balls to attack nintendo at every fucking turn and now your crying your eyes out because you get to experience a little bit of what you dish out because the vita is a pile of crap? I have no sympathy for you. None at all. Why not look in the mirror if all the vita hate gets to you.

I'm mostly indifferent towards it. I won't ever get one because there is no way I'm paying that much for a handheld (especially when I can emulate almost everything on my phone anyway), but I don't see any real reason to hate it. Charging ludacris amounts for a glorified SD card is a bit ridiculous though.

I don't really hate the Vita, Its more like exited dissapointment. The tech is awesome its way more ergonomic that the 3DS which cuts into your palms but it really has few incentives over the cheaper 3DS plus the 3DS has a bigger library

I hate the Vita because it never really gets the good titles like Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Wii sports, Nintendogs, etc.
I don't know whether it has Angry Birds yet.
No reason to buy it.

I'd say the biggest reason the Vita is in trouble is one most people have already said: A lack of 'Must Own' games. The only game the Vita has that I would want is Persona 4 Golden, but I'm not going to shell out for a new handheld when I've already got Persona 4 on the PS2; yeah, there are new features in Golden, but not enough to warrant the costs. And there isn't really too much hype about upcoming games for the Vita that I'm aware of; the gaming sites I frequent have news stories about upcoming 3DS games, but not much about the Vita.

Compare that to the 3DS, which has Donkey Kong Country 3D coming out next week, Animal Crossing: New Leaf next month, along with stuff like Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Pokemon X & Y later this year, and A Link to the Past 2 or whatever they end up naming it. There's also Shin Megami Tensei IV coming out, and Ace Attorney 5 on the eShop in the fall.

Not to mention you get shafted by Sony on memory card prices, since they are proprietary tech used by Sony, while the 3DS can use any SD card, to my knowledge.

Portable gaming is a tough area to get into. Nintendo had it right with the Gameboy, as simple as it was and Sony just haven't had that step up that they needed. I doubt the Vita will bring home the gold for Sony, but we can always try to be optimistic. Now all we need is Microsoft to bring us the Xbox Portable and I can finally face palm so hard, Captain Picard would give me a standing ovation.
