1. You really are Pretenious.
you know I was half-joking when I said you believe your own words to be that of the trope: Word of God, but now it really is true. I don't even know if you know the difference between Opinion and Fact.
You do realize the original 3DS exists right? Stop using one example to prove all wrong, if the origianl 3DS was the same price as the XL, then maybe but considering it is cheaper with no memory card requirement, sort of proves that false. As a little experiment, I decided to go on Amazon and look at the price difference between a 3DS and a Vita. A brand new Vita on Amazon can be had for £176. A brand new 3DS XL (which we'll use for comparison purposes) can be had for £149.
That's only a difference of £27, a rather small sum. And yet, Vita sales here in the UK are still as miserable as they are everywhere else. Obviously the UK being a recessive economy hasn't helped, but the 3DS seems to be doing fine here despite being only marginally cheaper and having to face the same economic woes.
People are more willing to drop money on Hard drives then memory cards, first of all considering a hard drive is usually triple the size of the memory card. You're right to mention this, but this isn't the be-all-and-end-all. The 360 used expensive proprietary hard-drives, and still sold incredibly well. While the memory card pricing is a fiasco, Sony could have still overcome it (as Microsoft did), if they dimply had put out games people wanted to play. They didn't, and they're still not doing so.
Did I even state the spike was still there? Also now your just going on assumption. Do you have hard fact, and yes, I mean FACTS, that prove once and for all that there isn't a large demographic of people who want console experiences on the go? Considering the influx on more mobile machines pushing for console-experiences, one would have to go on that there must be a market for that.A spike which has long since disappeared. That spike in sales probably had more to do with a smaller demographic making the most of a drop in price than it did any underlying interest among larger demographics. Is the price still cut in Japan? Then why have sales declined once again?
You don't just disprove this demographic by proving that another demographic exists.
you know what? Please just STOP LYING TO YOURSELF. Jeffers, Nintendo-Defense-Force Champion, stop lying to yourself. You state you think the Vita is a good hardware but it's bullshit. You seem to try EVERYTHING in your might to try and prove how much it sucks against the all mighty unfailiable Nintendo, a company which apparently based on you is near God-levels.Temporary surge in sale =/= massive interest from consumers. That sales spike was just that- a spike. Any real interest would have resulted in a long term sales boom, such as the 3DS encountered. Without the games, the system simply is not going to have any widespread appeal beyond the hardcore niche.
I would be fine if you were more neutral headed but considering half of your posts are spent defending Nintendo, it just irriates me to extremes.
