Yeah, but again, just because they are designed around motion control does not mean they make it work.
So you're telling me the games I mentioned that were designed around motion control don't work?
What about Red Steel?
I never said Red Steel, and I never said they were all good.

FPS on consoles. Its completely retarded, but people seem to like it for no other apparant reason than that they hate aiming properly.

Oh, sorry, my Engrish is obviously not too great.

I should have clarified by "they" I meant motion controlled games. DAMN YOU VAGUE PRONOUN REFERENCES!
You mean games based pretty much entirely on motion control? Yeah those suck, with a very small number of exceptions.

I didn't think wireless controllers would work at all. Not sure why. I guess I figured that there'd be a lot of interference with the signal between controller and console. Because I'm a bit dense. (Feel free to replace the word "bit" with "very" or any synonym of the sort).
I always said stuff about how you would have to keep buying new AA batteries, or how there'd be interference, and how rumble, something I practically grew up on (Star Fox 64), would be generally disabled for the sake of increasing battery life. I pointed to the Wavebird as an example of this, since at the time it was hailed as the best wireless controller ever made.

I also made the argument about how a lack of wires was pointless, since you'd still have to be within close distance of the TV (IE, the same room) to play it, and a wire could easily reach that far anyway.

Then the Xbox 360 and its rechargeable battery packs came out, alongside the DualShock 3 which had a built-in rechargeable battery. Both had good range, little interference, the rumble still intact, and you could recharge the battery by simply plugging it into the system.

Pretty much every reason I didn't like wireless controllers was subsequently smashed to the ground.

When I found out that COD had become a bit more popular by the 3rd game, I thought it would just be another ignored game by the time they got current.
Sadly, I was wrong.

Thumbsticks.........HATED them> growing up with a joystick and then every system having a d-pad affer atari, right up untill n64. i thought it was rubbish, and i hated it. i still use the d-pad for alot of games, but have taken a liking to it, finally......

totally agree with the fps on consoles sttement, but moreso, RTS on console. not only is the control worse, but 9 times outta 10 its a watered down version of the original game. wtf??

and to those old enough to remember.......FMV games. So glad those are done with.

Digital Distribution and Online stores On Consoles.

It's flourishing on PCs, and that makes sense. You can back up files and all that goodness. But on the console? Most normal users can't back up their consoles. Something bad happens and boom, it's all gone. That, and you can''t take it with you like you can a nice dependable Laptop.

Also, Digital Distribution on Handhelds. Except so far that's failed (PSP Go anyone?) so no surprise there. (though I hear DSiWare is doing pretty good.)

And finally, iPhone games that transcend the casual market.

First-person, 3-D Metroid games. I thought the idea was going to be very confusing [at my age at the time]. Then they were released, and they friggin' rocked, making Metroid Prime easily tied with Super Metroid as my favorite Metroid games.

Gonna have to vehemently disagree on this one, motion controls always ruin a game unless the game was designed around them, and even then it doesn't always work.
what about monster hunter or no more heroes?
Metroid...
Cod4:reflex...
Resident evil 4:wii version...
Soul Caliber Legends...
Pheonix Wright...
Lit...
Mario Kart...
Mario Galaxy...
that pretty much covers every single genre of game.
I can continue if you like.

OT:
games that you download right onto your system?
it'tl never catch on.
ironic how probably my three favorite games are all downloaded(two of them are in the list above)

You mean Red Steel 2? the first Red Steel was fired into the sun for how shitty it's controls and gameplay was.

Motion controls, but it turns out if done right they can add a lot to the game.

The Wii is my most used home console because of the really fun games on it.
Now how'd you get such a large avatar then?
Publishers Club members can now have 100x100 avatars.

Although I now use a cord because the (don't know the name) thing that receives signal from my controllers in the 360 is busted (doesn't function consistently) I use to be able to play 360 while on the toilet. The Tv was in the living room at one end of the hall and the toilet was at the opposite end. If I left the door open I could see the TV and the controller had the range to reach. :).

Rumble as well. I remember buying a N64 rumble pak on my Birthday because I got F Zero X and I remember thinking "this doesn't add much". I still don't think it adds much to the gaming experience, but it certainly hasn't died off.

That's disgusting, no different from the ads for the Wavebird, and I didn't want to hear it in the first place.

(Also, it's called a wireless receiver.)
