I'm kinda annoyed that the Oscars went for the obscure movie again (although I actually saw it this time so I was actually happy), although there wasn't anything better up for best picture.

I wish Alec Baldwin did more I guess.

That neither District 9 nor Watchmen won a single award. FUCK. THAT. SHIT.
It would have made the sting a little less if they were at least NOMINATED for something... But NO.

EDIT: My mistake, just realized. Don't kill me.

Two things come to mind:
1. That Ponyo wasn't even nominated for Best Animated Feature. Dammit Academy, you know Miyazaki exists and gave the award to Spirited Away, you have no excuse!
2. That Sandra Bullock won Best Actress, though that had more to do with The Blind Side than her.
WAIT. Spirited Away has won before!? BADASS!

The fact that people thought Avatar deserved more awards.

Seriously, good technological achievement, but the story, dialogue, and characters blew chunks.

Just looked at the nominations again. District 9 was nominated for a few things.

Another thing that pissed me off:
- Harry Potter was nominated for something. That PoS was among the worst films I've seen.

I don't see what was so great about Ponyo. Maybe its just my taste in movies, but it annoyed me to no end.

Oh, I KNOW! The acting in that Harry Potter movie was so damn AWKWARD! It was worse than "The Great Gatsby" film!
And yea, I did the same and realized I was wrong. My point stands for "Wacthmen" though.

It really stings though because... well, Watchmen is my favourite film of all time. Just in front of A Clockwork Orange. That says a lot. Comparing to the big Kubrick.

True, it was probably Miyazaki's weakest film, and it certainly doesn't compare to Spirited Away, Nausicaa, or Castle in the Sky, but the weakest of Miyazaki's films, even with a plot that gets wonky towards the end still beats the crap out of most things. I can't really explain what makes Miyazaki great, though.

Of course, we can both agree that the Disney-pop cover of the theme at the end was utterly atrocious.

What pissed me off? The Oscars still exist.
Not a bad thing to be pissed about, really. They seem to have outlived their effectiveness, seeing as every major award was predicted by several sources days before they actually happened.

Saving Private Ryan lost to Shakespeare in Love. Its been 12 years and I'm still angry.

Recent Oscars I couldn't care less about. I'm happy Hurt Locker won, but wouldn't care if it didn't.

1. Listening to people the next day at school ***** about how Avatar didnt win Best Picture, and how theyve never heard of The Hurt Locker. ( ill admit, i havent seen it. But i sure as hell know about it )

2. Before the best Actor and Actress awards, having the people come out and talk about the nomines. Christ that was horrible. They talked about them like they were Jesus or something. Like i read earlier, there just actors.

3. Sean Penn. I believe he was on crack.

4. Twilight in the same montage as Nightmare on Elm Street, Fiday the 13th, and all the other horror movies.

5. Barbra Streisand. WHY ? Was every single other person busy ?

Judging by your avatar, I must agree with your claims.
I got off my addiction through my bro moving out with his computer.

I was pissed that Farrah Fawcett didn't get a tribute and that District 9 lost out on best screenplay.
